  • Eyewitness Account: How Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Shuling Was Persecuted to Death by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)

    On July 3rd, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Shuling, 55, was tortured to death at the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Heilongjiang Province. According to witnesses, Ms. Liu was placed in a metal chair and killed by shocks from electric batons. There was a ring of ecchymosis (discolouration of the skin as a result of bruising) at the back of her left ear and neck. Ms. Liu's family received notification on July 3rd from the rehabilitation centre stating that Ms. Liu died suddenly in the toilet from a heart attack. According to a detainee at the rehabilitation centre, no one was allowed to go to the toilet, and each person had a bucket in their room to relieve themselves.
  • Facts about the Persecution of Two College Teachers in Beijing

    Recently, several reports on the Clearwisdom website mentioned the persecution of Ms. Liang Bo, formerly a teacher with the School of Literature, Journalism and Communication at the Central University for Nationalities. Due to her firm belief in Falun Gong, she was arrested, detained, tortured, and put on trial. Currently, Ms. Liang Bo's condition is grave due to being seriously mistreated. Another practitioner, Ms. Zhao Xin, comes to mind. Also college teacher, she worked for the Industry and Commerce Administration University in Beijing. She was arrested in 2000 and later violently beaten until vertebrae in her neck were fractured. She died on the evening of December 11th, 2000.
  • Mr. Yu Youwen, 54, Dies after Long-term Persecution in Sichuan Province

    Mr. Yu Youwen's wife divorced him under huge pressure caused by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. He was arrested by police on September 19th, 2002. He was taken to the Lanzhou City First Detention Centre. He was forced to sleep on the ground under the bed. Because the cell was gloomy, cold and damp, he was infected with scabies on his skin and he had difficulty squatting or sitting. However, he was still forced to do hard labour. Mr. Yu was later sentenced to five years in prison, and locked up in Dashaping Prison in Lanzhou City. He was diagnosed with late stage cancer after being tortured severely and died in his home on February 4th, 2011.
  • An Elderly Lady from Suzhou Passed Away as a Result of Persecution

    In November 2004, Ms. Zhou, who was 70 by then, was taken to the Shangfangshan Brainwashing Centre again. She was not allowed to sleep for a long time. Subjected to high pressure brainwashing, Ms. Zhou broke down physically and mentally. She suffered incontinence and fell into a coma. The authorities then sent her home. When Ms. Zhou was carried to her doorway, many neighbours saw the state she was in. Because of the repeated incidents of persecution, Ms. Zhou Yun was tortured and injured both physically and mentally. She finally passed away in August 2008.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Pei Yanqing from Qinglong County Tortured to Death in Qinhuangdao City Forced Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Pei Yanqing lived in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. While detained at the Qinhuangdao City Labour Camp, he was tortured until he was on the verge of death. His chest was blackened with bruises, and he lost control of his bodily functions, both bladder and bowels. To avoid responsibility for Mr. Pei's death, Mutoudeng Town officials sent him home. Four days later, Mr. Pei passed away on February 20th, 2011.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Hua Died Five Years Ago as a Result of Brutal Mistreatment in Qiqihar City Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Li Hua, 58, was arrested in 2005 because she practised Falun Gong. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour, and taken to Qiqihar City Forced Labour Camp. It is not known yet what kinds of torture Ms. Li received there, but after 11 months, when she was released on July 8th, 2006, she looked much older, was extremely slow-minded, and could hardly talk. She passed way on July 28th, 2006.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Liu Chun, 52, from Beijing Died as a Result of the Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Chun died as a result of the persecution at Beijing's Daxing Forced Labour Camp. On January 19th, 2011, upon learning the news, his family hurried to the hospital, where they saw Mr. Liu's cold and emaciated remains. They saw large red spots on his forehead and the bridge of his nose. On September 28th, 2010, Mr. Liu was arrested at his friend's home and was taken to the police station then to the labour camp soon after. Mr. Liu refused to renounce his belief in Falun Gong. He was subjected to frequent physical abuse and torture until he died.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Yuke Dies as a Result of Persecution in Jilin Prison

    Mr. Zhang Yuke, a 64-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province, died as a result of persecution in Jilin Prison on February 15th. Three years ago, Mr. Zhang was arrested at his home and was sentenced to four years in prison. He was subjected to cruel torture in Gongzhuling Detention Centre and Jilin Prison. He was tortured with body-stretching by the limbs, forced-feeding, and other forms of physical abuse. The prison guards made Zhang wear heavy foot shackles intended for death-row prisoners. He was chained to a rail for more than 3 weeks. The police beat Mr. Zhang Yuke until he collapsed. He was at the brink of death repeatedly.
  • Harmful and Mind Altering Drugs are Routinely Administered to Falun Gong Practitioners as a Means of Torture and Coercion

    Between 2002 and 2004, the Minghui website [Chinese version of the Falun Gong website Clearwisdom.net] reported the cases of three Falun Gong practitioners— Mr. Ping Chunfeng, former section head at the Logistics Department of Qinghai Normal University, 29-year-old Ms. Fan Lihong, and Ms. Zhang Xuefeng— who suffered nervous breakdowns and died after being injected with or fed with unknown drugs. Qinghai Province Women's Drug Rehabilitation Centre head Xiang Jianmei declared, “One shot costs more than 100 yuan.” Before their deaths, Ms. Fan Lihong and Ms. Zhang Xuefeng told many people about what they had been subjected to, but others had difficulty believing them, as they found the horror and extent of such malice hard to fathom.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Run Weirong Dies after More than Ten Years of Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Run Weirong, who had been arrested many times, passed away in October 2010. Ms. Run first went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. She was arrested and sent to Qinghe County Prison in Beijing. She went to Beijing twice more and was arrested and detained. Later Ms. Run was sent to a brainwashing centre. Ms. Run endured tremendous pressure and suffered both physically and mentally for more than ten years, and as a result she lost her eyesight and passed away at the age of 59.
  • An 80-year-old Woman Passes Away While Her Daughter Is Imprisoned in a Forced Labour Camp

    Right before the Chinese New Year in 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jin Yunzhi's husband died in a car accident. Soon after she finished taking care of her husband's funeral, on the evening of March 3rd, 2010, Ms. Jin was reported to the authorities by a person when she was distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution to people in Wangjia Village. That night police went to ransack her home and confiscated her personal belongings including her computer and printer. In December 2010, Ms. Jin’s elderly mother suffered a stroke due to grief and anxiety for her daughter and soon passed away.
  • Revealed Eight Years Later: Ms. Xu Wenling from Gansu Province Died in 2002

    Ms. Xu Wenling had cancer when she was in her twenties. She recovered after starting to practise Falun Gong in 1999. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20th, 1999, the police constantly harassed and threatened her. This disrupted her ability to do the exercises regularly, and she started to feel unwell. Determined to have the legal right to be able to practise Falun Gong in peace, she went to Beijing to appeal in September 2000. The police arrested her and detained her. The mental torture and physical labour caused her illnesses to recur. Later, police arrested her and shocked her with electric batons until her body was covered with swollen lumps and her lips were burnt like charcoal. Under long-term persecution, and being deprived of her right to practise Falun Gong, she died in October 2002 at the age 36.
  • Daughter in Prison, Elderly Mother Dies of Grief

    In March and April 2009, police officers in several cities in Shandong Province began mass arrests of Falun Gong practitioners. They arrested over 100 practitioners. Most of them were sentenced to prison and labour camps. Practitioner Liu Peizhi was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Ms. Liu's daughter is only eleven years old. Her father passed away many years ago. Ms. Liu takes care of her daughter and mother. After Ms. Liu was arrested, her daughter missed her badly and her mother was in deep grief. Her elderly mother's health began to fail, and she passed away on January 30th, 2011. Ms. Liu Peizhi is still being held in Jinan Women's Prison.
  • Ms. Ni Youmei, 47, from Hubei Province Passes Away After Nine Years of Persecution

    Ms. Ni Youmei was brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for many years. Ms. Ni was sent to Wuhan Women's Prison in 2002. She was forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong, and then had to write a statement promising to give up the practice. When she refused, the guards handcuffed her and made her stand for long periods of time. The guards also made her do forced labour. Under such pressure and brutal torture, Ms. Ni's endurance reached the limit. She finally succumbed and wrote a guarantee statement, renouncing her belief, then soon wrote a letter to the guards retracting her former statement. In 2010 her whole body was in constant pain. Ms. Ni passed away on December 29th, 2010, only 47 years old.
  • Ten-year-old Yang Yang Severely Traumatised by His Mother's Torture Death and Ongoing Harassment by the Authorities

    “My mum is a good person. Don’t arrest her. I’m still young; I need her.” These were the words Yang Yang, a ten-year-old boy, said with tears in his eyes as he watched his mother, Ms. Sun Yuhua, being arrested and taken away by police. Yang Yang's family were true to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and wanted to be a good person, she was viciously persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 2001, she had to leave her home for a time to avoid arrest. During that period, Yang Yang rarely saw her. In 2002, Ms. Sun was arrested again and was beaten to death Liaoning Province Women’s Prison in April 2003.
