  • Li Yi from Shenyang City Dies as a Result of Brutal Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Li Yi was arrested and imprisoned many times after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong. He was in critical condition twice. Mr. Li was finally taken home from the detention centre by his family, and died on March 26th, 2011 at age 42. In the Weigong Police Station five police officers tortured and interrogated Li Yi in an attempt to obtain a “confession” in April 2006. They did not allow Mr. Li to sleep for an entire day and night. They cuffed Li Yi's hands behind the back of a chair, and forcefully pressed his head down until he was sitting on the ground. The police put his legs together and began forcing his body into a stretch on the ground by pulling up on the handcuffs. Officer Yang Hai stomped on Li Yi's legs and kept his shoes rolling back and forth. An officer even tried to sit on top of Li Yi's back and used the heel of his shoe to kick his lower back very hard. His wrists were broken and he could not straighten his back or walk without help.
  • Authorities at Jiamusi Prison Refuse Medical Parole for Seriously Ill Mr. Fu Yu

    In early March Jiamusi Prison informed Mr. Fu Yu's family that Mr. Fu was eligible for medical parole. Mr. Fu Yu's brother was asked to sign a statement that accused Mr. Fu Yu of having committed a crime. He refused to sign it, and told them that Mr. Fu Yu is a good person. On March 21st, Mr. Fu Yu's brother was allowed to see him. Mr. Fu was emaciated. The court sentenced Mr. Fu to a five year prison term in 2009 for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Recently three practitioners were tortured to death in Jiamusi Prison: on February 26th, 47-year old Mr. Qin Yueming; on March 5th, 48-year old Mr. Yu Yungang; then, on March 8th, practitioner Mr. Liu Chuangjiang was persecuted to death.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Sun Fudi Dies as a Result of the Persecution

    Ms. Sun Fudi was arrested on the morning of June 23rd, 2009. She was given a two-year sentence and taken to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. She was brutally tortured and suffered excess fluid in her abdomen as a result of the persecution. In order to avoid being held responsible for her poor health, camp officials released Ms. Sun on April 20th, 2010. Ms. Sun passed away on the afternoon of April 2nd, 2011 at the age of 57. She had been arrested and incarcerated numerous times.
  • Imprisoned and Tortured for Over Nine Years, Mr. Hou Yanshuang Dies in Shenyang Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hou Yanshuang was arrested on the evening of October 21st, 2001, and sentenced to 14 years in prison. He was transferred to Shenyang Prison on August 27th, 2002. That same day, Jia Ke, Management Office chair, ordered prisoners to severely beat Mr. Hou, causing severe injuries to his lumbar and cervical vertebrae. Afterward, officials from the prison didn't provide Mr. Hou any medical treatment. He developed a bone spur as result of that brutal beating. Mr. Hou was detained in the 7th Ward of the No. 1 Shenyang Prison for nine years. In January 2009, doctors from the prison hospital determined that Mr. Hou had suffered a stroke and a heart attack. Mr. Hou finally died on March 3rd, 2011, in the prison hospital.
  • Ms. Luan Guizi Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Ms. Luan Guizi died in 2010 after she had suffered many years of persecution. She was subjected to forced labour twice. Ms. Luan went to Beijing twice to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute practitioners in 1999. She was subjected to three years of forced labour after she was arrested during her second appeal in Beijing. She was imprisoned at the Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. She was forced to work extremely long hours on highly physically demanding labour, and had to eat dirty soup and food which was usually fed to animals. Her bedding was made from hazardous materials. To protest the persecution, Ms. Luan refused to work and went on a hunger strike. The guards ordered inmates to force-feed her with brine and defected milk powder. They beat and tortured her.
  • Mr. Yu Yungang's Body Cremated After He Was Tortured to Death in Jiamusi City Prison

    On March 17th, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Yungang's body was cremated after he was tortured to death in Jiamusi Prison on March 5th. The prison only let Mr. Yu's immediate family members attend his memorial service. Since the deaths of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Qin Yueming, Mr. Yu Yungang and Mr. Liu Chuanjiang were exposed, the Jiamusi Prison, the National Security Team, the police, and the Community Management have been monitoring Mr. Yu's family. The home phones of Mr. Yu's brothers and sister have been tapped. Plainclothes officers monitor the residential buildings where they live around the clock. They are followed wherever they go.
  • Facts Surrounding Torture Suffered by Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Yu Yungang Before His Death

    In 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Yungang of Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province was sentenced to a six-year prison term. Mr. Yu was tortured while he was detained. He was hung up in the air by his handcuffs and brutally beaten. Witness said that his head was still wrapped in bandages several days later when he was interrogated by police. Mr. Yu was force-fed on February 25th and February 27th. He was force-fed twice on February 28th, and went into a coma that evening. He fell into a coma due to brutal torture at the Jiamusi Prison and passed away on March 5th. He died at the age of 48.
  • The Persecution of Government Employees

    In July 1999, Jiang Zemin, the then official head of the CCP, declared that Falun Gong would be eliminated in three months. That did not happen, and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners continues. Thousands of practitioners have been put into forced labour camps and prisons. The CCP now does everything it can to hide what it does to practitioners. Over 150 conscientious government employees have been arrested and sentenced to forced labour and prison. At least 11 of them have died as a result of the persecution.
  • Mr. Liu Chuanjiang Dies as a Direct Result of Being Tortured in Jiamusi Prison

    Between February 26th and March 5th, 2011, both Mr. Qin Yuming and Mr. Yu Yungang were tortured to death. On the morning of March 8th. Mr. Liu Chuanjiang, who was 55 years old, was tortured to death by officers in Jiamusi Prison. All three were Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Liu was severely persecuted in Jiamusi Prison. They shocked him with four electric batons all at the same time and didn't stop until the four batons ran out of power. They cruelly tortured him and broke his arm.
  • Shandong Province Practitioner Wang Yongdong Die in 2001 as Result of Persecution

    In mid-September 2001, police launched a wave of arrests in Yishui County against Falun Gong practitioners. On September 21st, former Falun Gong exercise site volunteer instructor Wang Yongdong was beaten by policemen from the Yishui County Public Security Bureau. Later, he was thrown from the fourth floor of a building. The perpetrators attempted to create a false suicide scene. He had been choked to death, with marks on his neck.

    Ms. Hao Runjuan from Guangzhou City was very healthy before she was arrested. After being continuously tortured for 22 days by police in the Baiyun Detention Centre, Hao Renjuan passed away. The police authorities conducted a full body autopsy without her family members' knowledge. When the family was told to identify the body, it was completely unrecognizable, with fresh bloodstains on it. There were no inner organs, no skin and no eyes in the body. Because the body was so disfigured, none of her family members believed that it was Hao Runjuan, even after seeing the body twice. Then, the family had to take her two-year-old son for a DNA test to confirm that the body was truly his mother's. Finally, it was confirmed that the unrecognizable body was that of Hao Runjuan.
  • 53 Falun Gong Practitioners in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, Confirmed Dead as a Result of Persecution

    Qiqihar in Heilongjiang Province is one of the places where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted practitioners the most. According to incomplete statistics, as of November 20th, 2010, 53 deaths resulting from torture had been confirmed. The oldest victim was 78-year-old retired bank employee Huang Jingkun, and the youngest was 23-year-old Wang Weihua.
  • Mr. Qin Yueming Tortured to Death in Jiamusi Prison, His Wife and Daughter also Persecuted

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qin Yueming was tortured to death in Jiamusi Prison on February 26th, 2011. Mr. Qin was arrested in 1999 and subjected to three years of forced labour. He was arrested again in 2002. Mr. Qin was then subjected to ten years of imprisonment and detained in Jiamusi Prison. Mr. Qin’s wife Ms. Wang Baoyu was imprisoned twice, and was arrested and sent to a brainwashing centre in November 2010. Mr. Qin’s older daughter, Ms. Qin Rongqian, was also arrested by the police and was severely beaten.
  • Mr. Mei Shengxin Dies in Custody at Zhengzhou Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Mei Shengxin was arrested in December 2002, and sentenced to nine years in prison. He was first detained in the 11th Ward. He refused to accept the brainwashing no matter what means the guards used to torture him. The guards deprived him of sleep and ordered several prisoners to take turns watching him for nine whole days in 2007. The prisoners beat him whenever he closed his eyes. He passed out and bumped his head against a fish tank and blood covered his body. He was rushed to the hospital, where he required many stitches, almost dying in that incident. Right before the Chinese New Year (on February 3rd, 2011), he called home and said he was fine and that he would be released soon. But he died only a few days before his term ended.
  • Three Practitioners Die within Two Weeks While Persecution Continues at Jiamusi Prison

    Three practitioners recently died within two weeks in Jiamusi Prison. In order to achieve a “transformation” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] rate of 85 per cent, Jiamusi Prison set up the “Strict Management Ward” in February 2011. The brutal persecution started on February 21st. Mr. Qin Yueming, 47, died five days later on February 26th. Mr. Yu Yungang, 48, died on March 5th, and Mr. Liu Chuanjiang, 55, on March 8th. Mr. Qin's family received a phone call from Jiamusi Prison notifying them that Mr. Qin had died from heart problems. When the family saw his body, Mr. Qin's lips were purple. Blood came out of his mouth and nose when his body was turned over. There were bruises all over and he had wound marks. Even the guards present were shocked to see it.
