Elderly Ms. Li Huilan Dies As a Result of Persecution
2010-09-07
Ms. Li Huilan, 69, was arrested at home by more than 20 police on September 28th, 2009. Police stormed into Ms. Li's home. They confiscated all Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution and arrested Ms. Li. They took her to the Yangdong County Detention Centre. After Ms. Li was released, police closely monitored her 24 hours a day, following her everywhere. They intentionally drove a motorcycle without a silencer around her home building, set off the theft prevention alarm on their vehicle after midnight to harass her, and threatened her. Under this intense pressure, Ms. Li died on January 18th, 2010. Her family is still under surveillance. -
Ms. Wang Xiuhua Dies in Police Custody After Years of Repeated Arrest and Imprisonment for Practising Falun Gong
2010-09-06On July 29th, 2008, right before the Beijing Olympics, police arrested Ms. Wang Xiuhua at her home under the excuse of Olympic security. They detained her for about 60 days, then secretly sentenced her to three years in prison, with five years probation. Her term had not ended when she passed away on August 24th, 2010. Previously Ms. Wang had been arrested and detained several times for practising Falun Gong and talking to people about the truth behind the persecution of Falun Gong. -
Forty-Year-Old Mr. Dong Yuehua Dies as a Result of Persecution
2010-09-06Mr. Dong Yuehua died on July 12th, 2010. He was survived by his wife and his seven year-old son. Some may wonder why, since Falun Gong is good for healing and fitness and many with incurable illnesses have recovered, did four members of Mr. Dong's family die? What caused Mr. Dong to die at the age of forty? In March 30th, 2009, police arrested Mr. Dong at his home. They took him to a brainwashing centre where they threatened him, deprived him of sleep by pounding on him with rubber clubs and sprayed water on his face whenever he closed his eyes. The guards took three shifts to harass him until his mind became muddled. His mind and body were shocked again when five local practitioners were sentenced to prison on April 9th, 2010. At the same time, police threatened him to make him give up practising. Mr. Dong suddenly lost consciousness on July 12th, 2010 and died. -
English Teacher from Hunan Province Dies as a Result of the Persecution
2010-09-02In January 2001, police arrested 60-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Liying and took her to the Yueyang City Detention Centre for three months. Following her release, Ms. Chen's health became unstable. She was constantly monitored and harassed. As a result, her health worsened due to the pressure. One time, she fainted on the street and was unable to walk home until after she regained consciousness. Her body swelled, and she bled constantly. She passed away at the end of September 2005. -
Mr. Li Jianhou, Former Committee Member of the Nanchong People's Political Consultative Conference, Was Tortured to Death in Deyang Prison in 2003
2010-09-02Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Jianhou, around 67 years old, started practising Falun Gong in November 1996. Since he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in July 2000, he had been arrested and imprisoned four times. His home was also ransacked three times. His pension was withheld for nearly 22 months and was never returned. He suffered detention for nearly 380 days. Mr. Li was tortured to death on March 27th, 2003, after being detained at the Deyang Prision for two months and 22 days. -
Ms. He Daozhen Dies from Persecution in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province
2010-09-01Ms. He Daozhen, 58, was twice sentenced to forced labour for practising Falun Gong after 2002. As soon as she arrived at Jiangxi Women's Forced Labour Camp in 2007, Ms. He was held in solitary confinement. Two inmates were ordered to beat and curse her every day. They also tortured her through so-called military drills. Ms. He left the labour camp in 2008, after one year of forced labour, The raw wounds on her skin that continuously oozed pus and blood never healed. She died on April 24th, 2010. -
Ms. Yan Pingjun Dies under Suspicious Circumstances in Hebei Province Brainwashing Facility
2010-08-29Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yan Pingjun operated a booth where she mended clothing. Her fellow practitioner, Xia Junying, is a well known tailor, and they were good friends. Ms. Xia was arrested on July 15th, 2010. Ms. Yan went to visit Ms. Xia's family on August 1st, and the police followed her back to her home. On August 2nd, police arrested Ms. Yan at home, ransacked her place, took her son's computer, and all her Falun Gong books. Ms. Yan was locked in the Hebei Province Legal Education Training Centre. The guards said she died around August 10th, due to a fall from the third floor. Ms. Yan was very healthy at the time of her arrest, but died only ten days after being detained. The brainwashing facility must be held responsible for her death, the details of which have yet to be investigated. -
Mr. Bai Heguo Beaten to Death in Nanguanling Prison, Dalian City
2010-08-25Mr. Bai Heguo, 45, from Liaoning Province was tortured to death around January 5th, 2008 in Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City. Prison guard Zhang Shuyi instigated criminal Zhou to beat Mr. Bai to death. Mr. Bai's family saw his body covered with numerous injuries and wounds, and his remains were hastily cremated. We have learned that guard Zhang Shuyi instigated criminal Zhou to cruelly beat Mr. Bai in an office, and handcuffed Mr. Bai to a heating pipe after the severe abuse. The beating was so severe that Mr. Bai could barely open his eyes. Mr. Bai had been arrested in June 2002 for practising Falun Gong. Court officials had sentenced him to 11 years in prison. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Duan Shaoming Dies After Five Years of Mistreatment in a Mental Hospital
2010-08-24Deceived by the propaganda against Falun Gong, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Duan Shaoming's son had his own father admitted into the psychiatric unit of Chongqing City Steel Plant Hospital in 2005. He had been held there since then. Duan Shaoming was locked in a room with over ten mental patients. He had difficulty breathing due to the noxious, foul smell in the room. The doctors in the mental hospital prohibited him from leaving the ward under false charges that he was seriously ill. Some local Falun Gong practitioners tried to reason with Mr. Duan's son, but he refused to get his father out. Mr. Duan died on August 4th, 2010. -
Yueyang Municipal Detention Centre Responsible for the Death of Hu Heping
2010-08-24August 7th, 2010 was the second anniversary of the death of Falun Gong practitioner Hu Heping. He died at age 54 from lesions in his internal organs after three months of detention at the Yueyang Municipal Detention Centre in Hunan Province. The Detention Centre did not want to take responsibility for his death, and asked his family to take him home just before he passed away. Detainees at the Yueyang Detention Centre in 2008 were forced to do manual labour such as making lanterns. Many raw plastic materials used in the manual labour were toxic. When Mr. Hu was tortured nearly to death, his family was still forced to pay for the time he spent in the detention centre. -
Two Deaths in 2002: Mr. Qiu Wei Tortured to Death in the Jiangxi Province Second Forced Labour Camp; Mr. Zhang Jun Dies After Two Years of Mistreatment
2010-08-23Mr. Zhang Jun, in his 30s, was arrested at the beginning of 2000, sent to do forced labour and locked in Yongqiao Forced Labour Camp located in Jinxian County, Jiangxi Province. The Warden Huang was very cruel towards Falun Gong practitioners, and instructed prisoners to brutally beat Mr .Zhang Jun and Mr. Wu Waiping from Yingtan City. Later Mr. Zhang Jun was transferred to the Gao'an Labour Camp where he was tortured until suffering a blurry mind and talking to himself. He was released at the latter half of 2002, after his term was extended. He never gave in to the brainwashing, but died soon after being released. -
Personal Account of Persecution by the Late Mr. Liu Quanguo from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province
2010-08-20Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Quanguo was arrested without a warrant, detained, sentenced to forced labour, tortured, and injected with unknown drugs. The head guard publicly said to him: "You'll die after you are released." And after Liu Quanguo was released, he did pass away on February 16th, 2008 at the age of 45. Before his death he recounted: "In Shuangcheng Detention Centre, the guard interrogated me again and again, trying to find out who organised our Falun Gong group. I was forced to stand for 24 hrs, and made to pick up a toilet bucket weighing 50 kilograms. The guard ordered prisoners to beat and kick me, I had black eyes and a bleeding nose and mouth." -
An Open Letter from Mr. Xu Dawei's Wife to Chinese Regime Agencies
2010-08-17Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei was tortured at Dongling Prison in Shenyang City to the extent that he suffered internal organ failure, his body was covered in injuries, and he suffered mental collapse and memory loss. In February 2009, 13 days after his release from serving an eight-year term in the prison, Mr. Xu died at the age of 36. In March 2010, 376 villagers in the five villages in Ying'emen Town, Qingyuan County jointly signed an appeal letter on behalf of Mr. Xu. This incident has resulted in an investigation by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which has resorted to threats and harassment of the letter's signatories. Attorney Mr. Wang Jinglong, hired by Mr. Xu's family, has faced suppression from the Liaoning Province Justice Department. -
Mr. Tong Langui from Tangshan City, Hebei Province Dies as a Result of Persecution
2010-08-17Because Tong Langui practised Falun Gong, he was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for a long period of time. He was detained at Fengnan Detention Centre and beaten by prisoners, bloodying his mouth and causing him to lose a tooth. Under enormous and ongoing pressure, he suddenly had a stroke on October 26th, 2005, and as a result could no longer take care of himself. Due to the persecution, he passed away in 2007 at the age of 44. -
Ms. Rong Fengxian Died in Baoding Mental Hospital in 2001

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Rong Fengxian, 32, was persecuted in the Beishi District Brainwashing Centre. She went on a hunger strike for six days to protest her innocence, and refused to write a guarantee statement to give up her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Guards severely beat her. They even ordered her husband to beat her. Police sent Ms. Rong to the Baoding Mental Hospital and she died there in 2001.
