  • Mr. Fu Yu Persecuted by Jiamusi Prison; His Life in Danger

    Mr. Fu Yu was brutally persecuted while exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and was sentenced to five years in prison. Following his being sent to the Jiamusi Prison in August 2009, Mr. Fu began a hunger strike to protest the persecution and went without a drink of water for many days. Mr. Fu was skin and bones. Due to his dramatically worsened condition, prison guards could no longer insert a needle into his veins. Instead, they inserted a nasal tube to feed him daily doses of milk to keep him alive.
  • Chengdou Southwest Jiaotong University Security Officers Violently Arrest an Older Practitioner

    On September, 22nd, 2009, officers of the Security Department of Chengdou Southwest Jiaotong University violently arrested an over 60-year-old Falun Gong practitioner when he was explaining the facts about Falun Gong to a young man. Following is his report: "One of the policemen yelled, Beat him! We have nothing to be afraid of! Thus, they beat me badly with punches and kicks. I was beaten black and blue, and my face was bleeding. I couldn't move or breathe, and was lying on the ground. They tied up my hands with string, causing my hands to swell from the blood restriction."
  • Ms. Shi Sumei Persecuted for Seven Years

    Ms. Shi Sumei began practising Falun Gong in July 1998. The practice cured all her illnesses and made her a healthy person. After the onset of the persecution she was repeatedly detained, brainwashed, monitored, and sentenced to imprisonment. Ms. Shi was sentenced to six years of imprisonment in November 2002. Shi Sumei spent ten months at the Zhangzhou City Detention, where she slept on the concrete floor and ate poor quality food. The food smelled so bad that it made her want to vomit. She was allowed only two cups of drinking water per day, and had to work till midnight. Sometimes she had to be on duty after midnight. She sat on the concrete floor to work. Ms. Shi became extremely weak. She was released on medical parole at the end of January 2007.
  • Ms. Chai Shuzhi Dies as a Result of Persecution

    In 2005, there were large scale arrests locally, and more than a dozen practitioners were arrested, and sentenced to prison for up to five years. In order to avoid being arrested, Ms. Chai Shuzhi, 37, fled her home. For the past four years, due to living under harsh conditions, Ms. Chai appeared very ill. In May 2009, Ms. Chai had to return to her mother's home for treatment. The local police kept harassing her. She died on September 10th, 2009, with her eyes wide open, unable to find peace amidst the relentless persecution.
  • Mr. Ding Guangcheng Recounts Torture During Long-term Imprisonment

    Mr. Ding Guangcheng was arrested in May 2001. He was brutally tortured and sentenced to six years of imprisonment in February 2002. He suffered a lot at the Tianjin Prison. During his detention in a police station in 2001 he recounts: "Officers beat us and punched our faces. Two of my teeth were knocked out. They made us take off our clothes, leaving us in only our underpants, and then poured water on us. We had to stand in a puddle while they gave us electric shocks on our chests, belly buttons, necks, and the other sensitive areas on our bodies. They tortured us for several hours."
  • Barbaric Abuse of Practitioners Inside Sanshui Women's Forced Labour Camp in Guangdong Province

    The Sanshui Women's Forced Labour Camp utilises brutal methods to force Falun Gong practitioners to "transform". The guards usually lock the practitioner in a small cell and disallow all contact. Even taking a walk in the small cell requires authorisation from the guards, not to mention other activities. There is no freedom in the forced labour camp, yet practitioners have to endure even more inhumane persecution and suffering in the small cell.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Ronghua, a Teacher from Dalian City, Detained at Yaojia Detention Centre, Dalian City

    Ms. Liu Ronghua was arrested on September, 23rd, 2009. She is being detained in Yaojia Detention Centre. Those in charge didn't allow her family to visit her. Police found her ex-husband and acquired some useful information and "evidence" on Ms. Liu from him, planning to further persecute her. Ms. Liu is a lecturer and well-respected in the field of education in Dalian City. Because she lost her job due to the persecution and was forced to divorce her husband, she has relied on the rent of the house that her ex-husband left her, and has never borrowed money to survive.
  • Mr. Huang Lizhong Tortured to Death in Panjin City Prison

    Mr. Huang Lizhong was arrested on February 25th, 2008 at home. He was sentenced to nine years in prison by the Lianshan District Court. In April 2009, guards brutally beat and shock Mr. Huang with electric batons for doing the Falun Gong exercises. They shocked Huang Lizhong every day and his internal organs were damaged. On October 25th Mr. Huang died in custody.
  • Court Obstructs Ms. Zheng Hongxia's Not-Guilty Plea in Her Husband's Defence

    On October 20th, 2009, the Qingpu District Court in the Huaian City, Jiangsu Province held a trial for Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Chao following his arrest for possessing Falun Gong books and materials used for exposing the persecution. His wife, Ms. Zheng Hongxia, submitted a plea of "not guilty" in his defence. While Ms. Zheng was preparing to defend her husband, court personnel openly refused to provide her with the indictment paperwork and the charges for which he was being prosecuted. Before and during the trial, the prosecutor Feng Jiandong was disrespectful to her and even threatened her.
  • Mr. Chen Shaodong from Xi'an City Arrested and Sent to Brainwashing Sessions

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Shaodong was sent to a brainwashing centre by police. His legs were beaten severely and broken. He was sentenced to three years in a forced labour camp. Police claimed that they had found Falun Gong materials in Chen Shaodong's home. Later, at his wife's request, they allowed Mr. Chen to be released for medical treatment. However, the staff members refused to release him, with the excuse that he had not been "transformed".
  • Jilin Prison Persecutes Four Practitioners, Including Shi Wenzhuo, After Reports Surface about the Prison Wards

    On October 19th, 2009, the heads of the Jilin Prison Administration and Education Departments organised a vicious attack on four Falun Gong practitioners. They instigated and led criminals at the prison to persecute practitioners. Among inmates are patients with all kinds of infectious diseases. At this time there are frequent outbreaks of H1N1 influenza. However, prison authorities forced the prisoners to sit on the cold floor from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Prisoners are forced to work from 6:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. They are then forced to "study" from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a common method to persecute the Falun Gong practitioners.
  • Guo Huisheng's Parting With His Wife

    By order of Jiahe County court in Hunan Province, a group of policemen arrested Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Guo Huisheng and his wife Li Jumei, a school teacher in Zhuquanwan, on the night of August 6th, 2009. Mr. Guo was brutally beaten. Upon arrival at the local police station, Mr. Guo's face was covered in blood. According to eyewitnesses, at least four people dragged him out of the interrogation room, and he had blood stains all over his clothes. Mr. Guo died two months later, on October 12th. His wife remains detained in prison.
  • Changchun Intermediate Court Violates the Law

    In December 2008, Nong'an County Court conducted a "secret trial" against seven Falun Gong practitioners without notifying their families. On March 27th, 2009 the court used the same tactic and pronounced judgement against them. The practitioners did not agree with the verdict and jointly appealed to Changchun Intermediate Court. Practitioners in Nong'an County and the family members of the seven practitioners hired 14 lawyers to defend them. Presently, the court wants to pronounce a judgement without trial, and it claims that "There is no need to follow court procedures regarding Falun Gong issues."
  • A Kind-Hearted Young Practitioner from Weifang City, Shandong Province, Sentenced to a Nine Year Prison Term

    Mr. Ge Kun was arrested on July 9th, 2008. He was imprisoned and tortured him for more than a year. Mr. Ge Kun, who was a very healthy young man, is now emaciated and physically weak. He went on hunger strike. After six days, he was force fed and tortured. He was tied to a cross for six days. The cross was supported with iron pipes. His hands were stretched out and strapped to the cross. He suffered excruciating pain. On October 18th, the Hanting District Court, Weifang City, Shandong Province sentenced Mr. Ge Kun to a nine year prison term.
  • Additional Information on the Persecution of Ms. Wang Yuxin and Her Family

    On September 19th, 2009, Ms. Wang Yuxin, from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, was studying Falun Gong teachings with her husband, Mr. Sun Yufu, and over ten other practitioners. She was reported and arrested and is being held in the Jiamusi Detention Centre. Her husband was released after he passed out as a result of brutal beatings from the police officers. Mr. Sun is now suffering from heart problems, has palpitations and also insomnia. Because of his sickness he cannot walk down stairs. He is unable to take care of himself at home and requires his wife to look after him.
