Teacher Mr. Ding Guoying Becomes Mentally Disordered As a Result of Imprisonment
2008-02-21Mr. Ding Guoying was a primary school teacher in Xingyang City, Henan Province. Since he was released from the Xinmi Prison in October of 2007, he has not spoken a word, shown any facial expression, or been able to take care of himself. Mr. Ding Guoying was arrested in June 2002 for advocating "Truthfulness, Compassion,Forbearance" in his school classroom. Five months later, in November 2002, he was secretly sentenced to seven years in prison and taken to Xinmi Prison. In the winter of 2002, Mr. Ding's mother visited him in prison. This is the coldest season of the year, and she saw her son wearing only thin clothes. Mr. Ding did not recognize his mother. A well-known and respected teacher, formerly a normal and healthy person, became mentally disordered as a result of persecution, just because he believed in "Truthfulness,Compassion, Forbearance." -

Police Brutally Torture Four Falun Dafa Practitioners from Chenxi County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province in 2002
2008-02-21On March 6th, 2002, the police interrogated Ms. Yu Shanmin about the origin of Falun Gong leaflets that were found on the street, but she also did not answer the questions. The police handcuffed one hand to a window frame and the other to a table leg. Then they pulled the table in the opposite direction, almost splitting her apart. The police call this torture "five horses splitting a body." This torture is very brutal. When the handcuffs are pulled in opposite directions, the victim feels tremendous amounts of pain. After a while, the hands swell and the handcuffs dig into the flesh, and sometimes the hands are disabled. Ms. Yu Shanmin cried from pain frequently. When her arms were pulled in a straight line, her legs were laid straight on the floor and the policemen took turns stepping on them with their leather shoes. Agent Zhang used a cigarette to burn Ms. Yu's face and left two black scars on her face. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Unjustly Arrested, Harassed
2008-02-21Seventy-three-year old practitioner Ms. Chen Ling was unable to live a peaceful life. People from the residential committee often interrogated her, "Did you go out today? Did you go to his or her home?" Residential committee Party secretary Ji asked her, "Is Falun Gong good, or is the Chinese Communist Party good?" Ms. Chen Ling was held in a detention centre five years ago, owing to her practising Falun Gong. They handcuffed her, forced her to be photographed and provide her fingerprints. The mental torment she suffered was enormous. Her teeth all fell out and her hair turned white. Four generations in her family were affected. Her husband was frightened so badly that he could not eat anything. Her four-year-old old grandson got sick from fear of the police. Her neighbours said indignantly, "Such a nice lady was arrested and her home raided, just because of practising Falun Gong!" -
Changsha City Women's Prison in Hunan Province Tortures and Enslaves Falun Gong Practitioners
2008-02-20The prison staff have forced older practitioners over sixty years of age into slave labour. They force practitioners to peel fava beans. Each practitioner is assigned to work on thirty to fifty kilogrammes of fava beans. Their tiny cells are their place of work. There is water everywhere, all over the ground and even on the beds. These practitioners have been living in dark and humid cells for a long time. Because Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Mao Siyuan didn't call out her name to report her arrival, she was forced to work eighteen hours straight. Practitioner Ms. Zhang Lanhui had a blood pressure reading of 220 to 300, and yet the guards still forced her to work. The repetitive work destroyed the flesh on her fingers, but she was still forced to peel beans. -
Numerous Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Beijing, Their Homes Ransacked
2008-02-20On December 25th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Cai Changhe from the Shengli Residential Quarters in the Shunyi District of Beijing was arrested. On January 25th, 2008, police officers were spread all over the streets of Beijing. They stopped the incoming and outgoing cars and requested all passengers get out and show them their IDs. Their aggressive behaviour caused panic in Beijing. With the 2008 Olympics coming, the Chinese Communist Party still persecutes and arrests Falun Dafa practitioners on a large scale, which really causes social turbulence. Their ugly atrocities violate the spirit of harmony, friendship and unity, which the Olympics promotes. -
Practitioners Enslaved in Qianjin Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City
2008-02-20Labour camp officials force practitioners to work overtime and give them excessive workloads. Practitioners are forced to get up at 5:30 a.m. and must work from 6:00 a.m. until 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. They get only 15 minutes for lunch and must work their entire shift without a break. Zhang Bo, Chief of the First Division, personally monitors everyone's work. Anyone who does not finish the assigned quota has to take the work back to his or her cell and may not go to sleep until the work is done. Huo Shuping, Chief of the Second Division, often punches and kicks practitioners and abuses them physically. She also forces practitioners to work more than the regular quota. When inmates are tasked with making rice paper bags, she increases the quota in the Second Division from 400 to 450 bags a day. -
The Seventh Division of Yang'ai Prison in Guizhou Province Brutally Persecuted Falun Dafa Practitioners
2008-02-20When I was detained in the Seventh Division of Yang'ai Prison in Guizhou Province, I witnessed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) prison police brutally persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The police were inhuman. Falun Gong practitioner Qu Jing used a hunger strike to protest the persecution against her. The police tied her up on the "death bed" for a very long time and force-fed her. The food that spilled onto her during the brutal forced-feeding sessions soaked her shoulder for a long time, causing the skin to fester and become infested with maggots. Prison policeman Tian Weiwei also brutally beat Qu Jing and incited the criminals who were sent to watch Ms. Qu to brutally beat her. -
Mr. Huang Fujun Tortured to Death, His Family Seeks Justice to No Avail
2008-02-19On July 24th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Huang Fujun was arrested by police and beaten until both of his feet were crushed and broken. On November 2nd, the police notified his family to visit him in hospital, when he was dying. He was unconscious, as thin as a skeleton, his face deformed from force-feeding tubes, which were still inserted in his nose. His buttocks were covered with terrible festering sores. Even in such a critical condition, guards still cuffed and shackled his wrists and ankles. Mr. Huang was taken home on November 4th. A 44-year-old man who was in good health, was tortured to such a degree within only three months. On November 6th, he died with his mouth and eyes open. -
Torture, Brainwashing and Slave Labour at Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Sichuan Province
2008-02-19Ms. Zhou Rong was sent to the No. 4 Team, where the inmates were forced to do very heavy labour. They had to process pig hair all day long. The pig hair was soaked in a caustic solution. After a while the labourers' hands rotted from prolonged contact with this solution. Because Zhou Rong refused to write the so-called "ideological re-understanding" or to read books slandering Falun Gong, guards made her stand till late at night. They also threatened to add more hours to her workload. -

Facts about the Persecution of Dai Xiaoping at the Wangcun Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2008-02-19Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dai Xiaoping was incarcerated in the Wangcun Women's Forced Labour Camp in the autumn of 2001. That is where I got to know her. As soon as she arrived, she was sent to the most vicious Division No. 5. As she was very steadfast, she was locked up in a solitary cell and made to undergo "reformation" [brainwashing] for long periods of time, which she resisted. The guards became more determined to brainwash her. They locked her up and tortured her more cruelly. They vowed that if they did not succeed, they would never let Ms. Dai go. Ms. Dai Xiaoping's husband was physically abused until he became partially paralysed on one side of his body. He died on June 13th, 2004 as a result of the persecution. -
Mr. Yang Baochun Unjustly Imprisoned in a Psychiatric Hospital
2008-02-18Mr.Yang Baochun, 40, is from Handan City, Hebei Province. He travelled to Beijing in July 1999 to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He was arrested, escorted back to his hometown, and taken to a forced labour camp. He subsequently lost his right leg due to torture in the labour camp. He was then taken to the local psychiatric hospital, Ankang Hospital in Handan City, where he is still being held. At the psychiatric hospital, Mr. Yang has been tortured, starved, shocked with electric batons, and beaten. They also broke his cane, making it difficult for him to get around. -
Psychiatric Hospital Used as a Tool for Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioners
2008-02-18The Jiujiang City Fifth People's Hospital in Jiangxi Province, a psychiatric hospital, detains Falun Gong practitioners in order to persecute them. This kind of illegal detention defies conventional wisdom that psychiatric hospitals offer nurturing care. Ms. Jiang Xiaoying, a practitioner, has had her arms and legs tied, and she has been injected with nerve damaging drugs and other unknown drugs. Psychiatric patients have been instigated into attacking and insulting her, and family visits have been denied for several years. Ms. Jiang has protested against her detention on many occasions. Ke (male, first name unknown), an employee from the hospital's security office, threatened her by saying, "We will send you to forced labour if you protest again." -
Police Torture a Retired Teacher, Causing His Stomach to Burst, Requiring Extensive Emergency Surgery
2008-02-18Mr. Lei Zhengxia, is a 62-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner. On January 14th, 2008, he was arrested from his home by police officers. Police interrogated Lei Zhengxia by use of torture every day. Policeman Li Hong personally attacked Lei Zhengxia's stomach, chest and other vital spots of his body until all the internal organs were severely damaged. Lei's stomach had burst from the torture. Police sent him to the hospital on January 27th where emergency surgery was performed. We heard that the medical and operation fees reached nearly 40,000 yuan up to February 2nd. The police didn't want to pay for the medical expenses since that might mean legal responsibility for the interrogation by torture and intentional injury. Lei Zhengxia's younger sister and other family members worry about being able to afford the huge amounts of medical expenses.
