  After July 22, 1999, the police often went to their company, their residence and Chen's in-laws' home to harass them, disturbing their peaceful life. In March 2001, Chen and his wife were abducted and held in the Jinjiang District brainwashing centre. Chen Yingjun's hands ended up bleeding because the police forcefully handcuffed him.

  During this time, she was force-fed through the insertion of a plastic tube to the stomach through a nostril and was also tortured by electric needles. She almost died from this torture. The police tried to cover their evil acts by injecting some unknown nerve-damaging drugs into the top of her head. According to Zhou Ling's recollection, "After the injection, my brain went blank." The unknown drug also caused blurred vision. Today, she still cannot clearly see things.

The family was shocked. They cut the shirt open with a pair of scissors. They saw that the underarm area, and the area from his chest to his throat were black and blue. All his back was covered with bruises. Numerous scars and bruises covered the area from his lower back down to the buttocks, and the large scars and bruises were also found on the four limbs.

  Ms Xu Yanxiang is now being brutally tortured in the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province. Her back and legs were severely burned by electric batons causing severe damage all the way to the layer of her muscle tissue. Even so, the police officers in the Gaoyang Labour Camp are still continuing this brutal persecution. They did not allow her to go to sleep for five days.
