  • Even the Handicapped Are Harassed and Tortured at the Hands of the Chinese Communist Regime

    Mr. He had polio as a youngster which caused a deformity in one of his legs. On April 2nd, 2002, police arrested Mr. He. At the station, a group of police officers kicked and beat Mr. He. They tortured him until 3 a.m. the next day trying to get information of other Falun Gong practitioners and materials from him. Mr. He was taken to a detention centre. Officer Yang Qingmin chained Mr. He's legs to an iron chair and handcuffed his arms behind his back. Yang then used a rope to forcefully pull up on the handcuffs, which caused excruciating pain and put a great strain on Mr. He's shoulders.
  • Ms. Tong Cunshu Arrested when Seeking Justice for Brother

    Mr. Tong Ruiqing was arrested by police when he went to a shop to buy fruit on July 10th. Later he was sentenced to one year of forced labour. His sister, Ms. Tong Cunshu, hired an attorney for him. On September 2nd, before she and the attorney were to meet with Mr. Tong, she was arrested by officers from the Nanle County Criminal Division. She is now held at the Daming County Detention Centre.
  • Chang Jianmin from Bin County Domestic Security Division in Heilongjiang Province Actively Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners

    Chang Jianmin, an official from the Bin County Domestic Security Division in Heilongjiang Province, is the main local perpetrator who persecutes Falun Gong practitioners in Shengli Town, Bin County since he was promoted to head of Shengli Police Station in 2000. Over the past 10 years, Chang has arrested over 60 practitioners from Shengli, among which 12 practitioners were sent to labour camps and 4 practitioners were put in prison. Chang has also extorted over 200,000 yuan from practitioners and their families.
  • Zhang Qi Hung by Handcuffs for Eight Months in Jinzhou Prison

    In late February 2008, Mr. Zhang Qi and another Falun Gong practitioner were arrested by the Jinzhou police on a bus from Jinzhou to Shenyang. Mr. Zhang was then sentenced to a seven-year prison term by the Chaoyang District Court. He was severely tortured in the Jinzhou Prison, during which time he went on several hunger strikes. From around September 2010 to April 2011, wardens at the Panjin Prison tortured Mr. Zhang with the “Big Hang Up” method. Mr. Zhang's head swelled terribly and he was close to death. Wardens had to rush him to the Shenyang Inmates Hospital, but yet did not stop torturing him with different methods.
  • Recent Abuse in Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Guards abused Falun Gong practitioners last month in the Third Ward of the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. The Third Ward is the major money-making unit in the prison. Most of the imprisoned are Falun Gong practitioners. The rest are those who appealed to the central government about local issues. The guards use beating and electric shocks to force all of the imprisoned to work as slave labourers. Their work is demanding. They start at 7:30 a.m., have lunch break at noon, and work again from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Occasionally, they have to work one to two hours overtime.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Xiaohua of Tumen City, Jilin Province is Unjustly Tried

    On August 30th, the Tumen City Court of Jilin Province held a trial for Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaohua and did not announce the result. Ms. Liu was arrested by police on March 4th, 2011. Liu Xiaohua was interrogated and tortured for four days and nights around the clock. She was deprived of sleep, had her hands burned by a cigarette lighter, eyes poked, skin burned with a cigarette, head hit with water bottle, and so on. Her buttocks and thighs were seriously swollen, black and blue, and the burn marks are still visible.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Sun Fuqin from Chicheng County, Hebei Province, Subjected to Trial

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Fuqin is a teacher at the Sanwan Elementary School in Chicheng County. Chicheng County Police Department officers broke into her home on October 14th, 2010. They ransacked it and attempted to arrest her; however, she escaped. On July 2nd, 2011, she was arrested and taken to the Zhangjiakou Detention Centre. On July 5th, her case was re-categorized from a “criminal detention” to an “arrest”, and then sent to a district court. During the trial, while Ms. Sun attempted to defend herself, the judge prevented her from reading her prepared statement, or mention the words “Falun Gong.” Whenever she began to say “Falun Gong,” the judge, Li Xiumei, stopped her by saying, “This is a court. You cannot advocate Falun Gong here.”
  • Ms. Hu Yurong, Previously Persecuted in a Forced Labour Camp, Sentenced to Seven Years

    Ms. Hu Yurong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Sichuan Province, was sentenced to seven years on August 23rd after being held for nine months. In the courtroom her parents yelled loudly, “The evidence is false!” The judge pretended not to hear them. Her parents are over 70 years old. They were outraged and traumatised by the suffering and persecution inflicted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and fainted frequently in court.
  • Skilled Chef Arrested for His Spiritual Belief

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Zhengyun is a chef. On August 23rd, Mr. Sun was working as usual in his restaurant when several police came to the restaurant and arrested Mr. Sun without a warrant. The police also ransacked his home and confiscated his bank cards, 10,000 yuan in cash, and other personal belongings. Although it is quite common for restaurant owners to put chemical additives into their dishes in order to achieve maximum profit and save money on quality ingredients, Mr. Sun never thought of doing so, and he made his own noodles to assure the quality. Mr. Sun also often helped poor people.
  • Communist Regime Agents Take 62-Year-Old Ms. Li Zhongming to a Brainwashing Facility in an Ambulance

    On July 15th, 2011, an ambulance stopped 20 metres away from Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Zhongming's home. Ms. Li was seen being carried down from the fourth floor by two men, shoved into the ambulance, and restrained on a stretcher inside it. Her family went to the Gaoba Police Station to demand her release, but officer Yang Jianguo refused to disclose her whereabouts. She was taken to a brainwashing centre. Guards played videos slandering Falun Gong daily and forced Ms. Li to watch. Afterward she was forced to write her thoughts. Ms. Li wrote “Falun Gong is good” and explained the facts about Falun Gong to the staff in the brainwashing facility. The staff hysterically cursed and threatened her, calling her “anti-Party” and saying, “You're counterrevolutionary,” and other things.
  • Three Elderly Female Practitioners Sentenced in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province

    The Wucheng District Court in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, sentenced three female practitioners for practising Falun Gong and telling others the facts about the persecution. The practitioners are appealing to the middle court. Ms. Bao Xiaomei, 74, was arrested on June 25th, 2010. Several policemen broke into her home, seized her property and Falun Gong books. Police took her to the Qiyi Farm Brainwashing Camp from June 25th to August 7th, 2010. The court sentenced Ms. Bao to seven years in prison.
  • Mr. Liu Yongwang, an Engineer from Beijing, Sues Jidong Prison Guards for Torture

    Recently, it was made known from Jidong Prison that Mr. Liu Yongwang is suing the lawless guards in Jidong Prison, which is having the good effect of exposing the illegal actions prison guard Zheng Yajun committed against him and other detainees. The prosecution department of Jidong Prison recently informed Mr. Liu Yongwang that the prison decided to punish guard Zheng Yajun. Mr. Liu's attorney called the prosecution department of Jidong Prison and was given confirmation that this was so.
  • Ms. Qing Guangrong from Pengzhou, Sichuan Province Beaten and Force-Fed in Sanshengsi Brainwashing Centre

    Police surrounded Ms. Qing Guangrong's home and ordered her to open her door. Several of them then forcibly broke into her home and confiscated her Falun Gong and other materials, as well as 5,000 yuan in cash. They then drove Ms. Qing to Sanshengsi Brainwashing Centre where she has been detained for over four months. Party secretary Wan Wenxue slapped Ms. Qing, and officer Tang Lu grabbed her head and rammed it against the wall. Clumps of Ms. Qing's hair came out. Police then severely beat Ms. Qing until she fainted. Ms. Qing went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Police force fed her. Ms. Qing had difficulty breathing during the forced feeding and they injured her mouth, leaving her in pain for over a week.
  • Dongfeng County Police in Jilin Province Stun Ms. Zhu Deyan with an Electric Baton and Steal Her Belongings

    Two village heads and four police officers broke into practitioner Ms. Zhu Deyan’s home on September 14th. Two policemen brutally beat Ms. Zhu, shocking her with an electric baton twice. After Ms. Zhu was stunned and unconscious, the police found a locked cabinet. Assuming that there were valuables inside the cabinet, the police searched everywhere for the cabinet key. When Ms. Zhu regained consciousness, the police stunned her again. The police not only broke into and entered a private residence, but they also openly and unscrupulously robbed an innocent woman of her personal belongings. The police took many of Ms. Zhu's belongings.
  • Ms. Geng Ruizhi Sentenced to Four Years in Prison, Her Daughter Arrested and Threatened

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Geng Ruizhi was sentenced to four years in prison by a local court. She was taken to the Inner Mongolia No. 1 Women's Prison at the end of August. Police interrogated and tortured her while she was in custody. They tied her to a customised metal chair and deprived her of sleep for six days; in addition, He Cai severely beat Ms. Geng. As a result, the joints in Ms. Geng's wrists were seriously damaged, and her health deteriorated. When Ms. Geng was arrested at home in February, her daughter objected to the police taking her mother away. The police proceeded to arrest both of them.
