Falun Gong Practitioners Mr. Chen Xiaoming and Mr. Fan Qinbing from Tianshui City, Gansu Province Faced Police Brutalities during Interrogation

On June 2nd, 2011, two Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Chen Xiaoming and Mr. Fan Qingbin were arrested by the police from the Domestic Security Division of Maiji Police Sub-Bureau. Chief Feng Jitang subjected them to brutal beatings during the police interrogation. Mr. Chen Xiaoming nearly died from the police brutality. He survived, but remains bedridden to this day. Officer Feng scheduled a trial against Mr. Chen for September 15th. -
Mr. Wang Zhenhui Arrested in Haicheng, Liaoning Province
2011-09-23While Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Tian Baowei was being subjected to a trial in a Haicheng court on August 26th, Chinese Communist Party police arrested other practitioners outside the court, including Mr. Wang Zhenhui. Mr. Wang's home was subsequently ransacked. His Falun Gong books and personal property were confiscated, including his son’s computer. Currently, Mr. Wang is being held at the Haicheng Detention Centre. His family and friends are extremely concerned about his condition. -
Mr. Fan Zhenguo Died As a Result of Persecution in Panjin Prison, Liaoning Province
2011-09-22Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Fan Zhenguo was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2008, and had been incarcerated in Panjin Prison ever since. He died recently in Panjin Prison. According to sources, there were several bruises on the back of Mr. Fan's body. Mr. Fan's family hired an attorney and a medical examiner to go to the Panjin Prison on September 13th. The prison authorities ordered Mr. Fan's body to be cremated on September 13th. -
Over a Thousand People in Mr. Zhou Xiangyang's Village Sign a Petition Calling for Justice
2011-09-22Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Xiangyang from Tianjin was arrested last March and again sent to Gangbei Prison where he has since been on a hunger strike. Gangbei Prison authorities at first denied that they were holding Mr. Zhou and tried to prevent his family from visiting him. Mr. Zhou's mother wore a piece of clothing with words written on it telling how her son was being treated unjustly and stood outside of the prison. She was eventually able to see him. To rescue Mr. Zhou, his family suggested a petition. Nearly 1500 people from Mr. Zhou's hometown signed the petition to support him. They demanded his release and that those responsible be brought to justice. -
Tianjin Architect Ms. Li Yanxia Sentenced to Four-Year Prison Term
2011-09-22On January 13th, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yanxia was arrested by officers from Tanggu Domestic Security Division and taken to a detention centre where she was detained for six months. Without informing her family, the court sentenced her to four years in prison. This is the second time she has been sentenced. In 2001, Ms. Li was arrested and sent to prison for two and a half years. She held a hunger strike in prison to protest the persecution and was force-fed by several convicts. She nearly died from suffocation. She was tortured by being made to sit on a stool and stand facing a wall for long periods of time, and listen to and watch propaganda defaming Falun Gong. -
Yueyang City Practitioners Ms. Cao Meilan and Ms. Cao Xianghui Arrested
2011-09-22Ms. Cao Meilan, a Falun Gong practitioner and her sister Ms. Cao Xianghui were arrested by the local police on February 24th, and their home was ransacked. Ms. Cao Meilan was arrested again on June 19th and sent to a brainwashing centre. Junshan District 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) stopped their pension payments. -
I Have Suffered Brutal Torture in Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province
2011-09-21On October 1st, 2001, I went to Wenhua Square in Changchun City to display a banner exposing the persecution. I was arrested and driven for two hours to an unknown place. Police stripped my clothes off. They pushed me onto the tiger bench and tied my hands on both sides of a bar behind me. They put a metal bar on my chest, one on my thighs and one on my shins. The sides of each bar were fixed onto the bench. My feet were locked with metal hoops, which were fixed and tied onto the bench. Three officers came into the room with electric batons. Two of them grabbed my arms, which were tied behind my back, and forced them over my head. I heard my bones cracking again and again as they broke. The pain was unbearable as they thrust my arms back and forth many times, and I lost consciousness. -
Cao Dong's Extended Sentence Is About to Expire; the Communist Party Is Threatening to Send Him to a Brainwashing Centre
2011-09-21On May 21st, 2006, Mr. Cao Dong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing, met with Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, Vice-President of the European Parliament, who was visiting China to investigate the allegations that the CCP was extracting organs from Falun Gong practitioners while they were still alive. Two hours after the meeting, Mr. Cao was arrested by officers from the Public Security Bureau in Beijing. Mr. Cao, whose sentence was extended by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is set for release on September 28th. However, Tianshui Prison in Gansu Province has boldly stated that if Mr. Cao is unwilling to be “transformed”—to give up practising Falun Gong—he will be transferred to the local brainwashing centre when he leaves prison. -
Ms. He Lianchun Secretly Given Ten More Years of Imprisonment after Serving Five-Year Sentence
2011-09-21Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Lianchun from Yunnan Province was secretly sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in 2009, and is currently detained in the Yunnan Province Second Women's Prison. Because she remained steadfast in her belief in Falun Gong, she was subjected to all kinds of severe tortures, including solitary confinement and the "tiger bench". She went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution, and is now in very poor physical condition. Ms. He was first arrested in 2001 when she distributed Falun Gong materials in Mengzi County. She was subsequently sentenced to five years in the Yunnan Province Second Women's Prison. -
Ms. Wang Yin Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Centre, Elderly Parents Seek Justice
2011-09-21Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yin from Jilin City was arrested at her home by officials and police on August 24th. She was taken to the Shahezi Brainwashing Centre, then to the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Centre in Changchun City on September 1st. Ms. Wang’s parents, who are in their 80s, are suing the Chuanying District 610 Office head, Yang Bingwen, for breaking and entering, detention, and physical abuse. They are demanding that the local procuratorate and relevant authorities place the case on file and begin an immediate investigation. -
Police in Huanxian, Gansu Province Arrest Ms. Miao Huixia and Her Child Left Alone at Home
2011-09-20On August 25th, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Miao Huixia was arrested at her workplace by police and taken to Qingcheng Detention Centre. They snatched away her house key and looted her home. Ms. Miao's 14-year-old son was alone at home. Ms. Miao and her husband Mr. Kou have been persecuted many times by Huanxian 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and police. In 2004, Ms. Miao was sentenced to one year and three months of forced labour in Gansu Women's Forced Labour Camp. -
Mr. Xue Xinde, 57, in Qinghai Province Sentenced to Four Years Imprisonment After Being Tortured
2011-09-20In a secret hearing the court sentenced Mr. Xue Xinde to a four-year prison term for refusing to give up his belief in Falun Gong. In 2001, Mr. Xue and three other Falun Gong practitioners were forced to parade themselves in public, with placards hanging in front of them that read, “Against law enforcement” and their names. They were paraded along streets throughout the county. They were then taken to Westgate Stadium, which was filled with spectators. They were placed next to murderers and other criminals. In this televised event with tens of millions watching, Mr. Xue and the other three Falun Gong practitioners were called out and denounced. Event coordinators had organized people who misunderstood Falun Gong to publicly defame Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners. -
Ms. Lou Caihua Subjected to Cruel Torture At Liaoning Women's Prison
2011-09-20Ms. Lou Caihua from Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province was arrested in February 2008. She was then sentenced to an eight-year prison term. She is currently detained at the No. 8 Ward in Liaoning Women's Prison. In the prison, Ms. Lou wanted to appeal. When her appeal letter was submitted to the prison authorities, it was rejected and returned to her. Under the instigation of guards, Ms. Lou was subjected to cruel beatings by other prisoners at the prison. -
Falun Gong Practitioners from Fujian Province Persecuted with Nerve Damaging Drugs
2011-09-20On January 6th, 2004, a practitioner from Fujian wrote a report to expose the atrocities that had happened in the Minxi Prison, “When I was held in the Fourth Workshop of the prison's plastics factory, I was deprived of sleep for 48 hours. Chen Weimin, chief of the workshop, deceived me into taking some drugs that cause mental damage. I fell into a deep coma and my heart stopped as a result. When I became conscious, an inmate was so startled that he ran away in unspeakable astonishment because he thought that I was dead. When I got up, I found a wound cut into my chest at area of the heart. The prison guard sent someone to watch me in secret to report on my condition. My heart was subsequently often in acute pain and my mind was unclear for some time.” -
24-Year-Old Ms. Wang Yujie Has Died after 14 Months of Persecution
2011-09-19On September 3rd, 2011, Ms. Wang Yujie died at the age of only 24. One year of forced labour and forced brainwashing killed the once-healthy young woman. On March 11th, 2010, Ms. Wang was arrested for posting Falun Gong informational stickers and speaking with people about Falun Gong in Wuhan City. In Hewan Forced Labour Camp, the head guard ordered the drug offender inmates to torture her. They made her squat every day, deprived her of sleep, and made her stand all day long. The inmates threatened her by saying, “If you don't 'transform' [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] after two weeks, we will make up an excuse so that we can hang you up by the handcuffs.” Ms. Wang was also forced to do hard labour.
