Falun Dafa Practitioners Mr. Niu Wanjiang and His Wife from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province Persecuted for Over Eight Years

Practitioners Mr. Niu Wanjiang, 45, and his wife, Ms. Zhang Zhenmin, 44, have been persecuted for over eight years, ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. Mr. Niu Wanjiang was put in a forced labour camp for a year and later served a three year sentence in prison. He is now in the Longjiawan Brainwashing Centre in Lanzhou City. Ms. Zhang Zhenmin was sentenced to eight years and is doing forced labour at the Gansu Province Jiuzhou Women's Prison, Lanzhou City. Their young son lives with his grandparents. All three subsist from the grandfather's small income. -
Shijiazhuang Government Does Not Allow a Lawyer to Defend a Falun Gong Practitioner
2007-09-01Recently, the family of practitioner Ms. Liu Xiumin tried hard to find a lawyer who would agree to defend her. They were happy to sign the consignment agreement and submit the retainer fee. But two days later, expressing regret, the director of the lawyer's office returned the retainer fee and rescinded the agreement. It is said that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) requires any lawyer taking on a Falun Gong practitioner's case to report it and to get approval. The Shijiazhuang Judicial Bureau pressured the lawyer's office and forbade them from taking Li Xiumin's case, effectively depriving her of her right to retain a lawyer. -
Mr. Sha Naiyi's Remains Placed in a Funeral Home; His Family Appeals to Bring Those Responsible for His Death to Justice
2007-09-01Mr. Sha Naiyi was a Falun Gong practitioner from Da'an City, Jilin Province. He died under suspicious circumstances while being persecuted. His remains are still in the cremation plant's funeral home in Da'an City. Every day, a police car and five officers guard the funeral home. His family have been appealing to a higher court, vowing to bring those responsible for his death to justice. -
The Persecution of Ms. Zhang Jianxin in Wangdu Township, Baoding County, Hebei Province
2007-09-01In December 2000, Ms. Zhang Jianxin and several fellow practitioners held up banners with "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance are good" at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. They were beaten by six plainclothes policemen, then imprisoned and inhumanly tortured at the Haidian police station in Beijing. Twelve days later, the township party secretary of discipline and inspection, Li Keqin imprisoned Ms. Zhang in the Wangdu Detention Centre for one month and extorted 500 yuan from her before her release. Ms. Zhang's husband was brutally beaten in the Wangdu Detention Centre after they seized him in Tiananmen Square. Ms. Zhang and her husband were imprisoned until February 2001. -
Practitioners Mr. Zhao Longzhi and His Wife Ms. Luo Na from Tibet Each Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison

Practitioners Mr. Zhao Longzhi and his wife Ms. Luo Na from Tibet were arrested on January 31st, 2006 by the local police and members of the 610 Office. Their home was also searched. No word came from either of them after their unlawful arrest. It has just been learned that Mr. Zhao and Ms. Luo have each been sentenced to 14 years in prison. Ms. Luo Na is being held at the Beijiao Prison in Lhasa City, and Mr. Zhao Longzhi is being held at the Qushui County Prison. -
Practitioner's Wife Detained by Officials in Wanquan County of Hebei Province
2007-08-31On July 25th, 2007, in an attempt to arrest practitioner Mr. Zhao Wanying, the officials in Wanquan County, Hebei Province detained his wife, Ms. Huo Zhenhua. The couple's two underage daughters were left at home and they are crying every day. From July 23rd-25th, more than 40 practitioners' homes were searched. The newly-appointed director of the Public Security Bureau told his subordinates, "Since arresting criminals is no easy job, we should have no problem catching Falun Gong practitioners." -
Persecution Suffered by Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Du Guolin in Tonghua, Jilin Province
2007-08-31Mr. Du Guolin was arrested for practising Falun Gong. Police put him in a two square metres' steel cage, and handcuffed him to a steel chair. The policeman pulled out a bloodstain underwear from behind the heater radiator, and gagged Guolin with the bloodstain underwear. The policeman covered his head with a plastic bag to suffocate him. Since he didn't give in, the policeman made an effort to pull his head backwards and chopped at his throat with his palm. Another police officer punched his chest. When they saw he was almost going to die, they let loose the plastic bag to let him take a breath, and then suffocated him again. They repeatedly tortured him like this. -
Mr. Yue Yuqi, 66, Close to Death from Torture - Wanquan County Court of Hebei Province Still Issues Sentence
2007-08-31On April 23rd, 2007, police arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yue Yuqi, 66, from his home and put him on trial on June 4th, 2007. At the time of the trial, Mr. Yue weighed only 70 pounds due to mistreatment in the detention centre. He could not walk into the courtroom, so his son carried him on his back. On the morning of August 13th, 2007, five people from the court came to Mr. Yue's home and delivered the sentence of the court to Mr. Yue who was near death. Mr. Yue was arrested and tortured by officers from Wanqua County for practising Falun Gong, and for wanting to be a good person, and telling people about the beauty of Dafa. Since the beginning of his trial on June 4th to June 22nd, 2007, he was mistreated so badly that he was near death. -
64-Year-Old Ms. Niu Chuanmei from Guangdong Province Dies Suddenly as a Result of Persecution

On August 15th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Niu Chuanmei, 64, was arrested by police. Ms. Niu's family asked about her situation but the police did not provide any information. Five days later, Ms. Niu Chunamei's son received a notice telling him that Ms. Niu Chuanmei had jumped from the 17th floor of the Guangdong Province Armed Police Hospital and died. No reason was given. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Huiru's Experiences During Eight Arrests
2007-08-30My name is Zhang Huiru, and I am 65 years old. After the persecution began, I told myself that I must appeal for Falun Gong and try to restore its reputation and that of my Teacher, Mr. Li Hongzhi, because I have benefited so much from the practice. I went to Tiananmen Square on February 11th, 2000, to appeal. A plainclothes police officer approached me and said he was a Falun Gong practitioner from Harbin. He asked me if I was also a practitioner. I said, "Yes." A police van arrived and police officers forced me into the van and took me to the Qianmen Police Station. I heard later that police officers were to be paid 50 yuan for each practitioner they arrested on Tiananmen Square. -
Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in Binchuan County, Dali City, Yunnan Province
2007-08-30Ms. Zhao Yingxian, 50, was reported while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. She was arrested by the police and sent to a detention centre for over two and a half months. The detention centre made her family member pay 5,000 yuan for her release, and tried to force her to put her fingerprints on a falsified guarantee statement. However, she steadfastly refused to cooperate. She was then sentenced to a forced labour camp. -
Detained For Eight Years, Ms. Li Dongqing Must Be Released from Prison

Li Dongqing appealed for Falun Gong and has been detained since September 1999. She was first sentenced to forced labour for three years. She was again sentenced to five years in Liaoning Province Women's Prison. Li Dongqing has been tortured in many ways, including being detained in a small cell, being brutally beaten, shocked by electric batons, and being humiliated. For almost the entire one and a half years, she was detained in a small cell. -
Sanshui Forced Labour Camp in Guangdong Province Torturing Falun Gong Practitioners with Electric Batons and Brutal Force-Feeding
2007-08-29In the later part of July 2007, "the Special Monitoring Brigade" at the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp inhumanely tortured Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zeng Yong, Mr. Li Shengyu, Mr. Luo Honglin, and Mr. Xia Changfu. The practitioners were tied up and shocked with electric batons, were deprived of food, prohibited from using the toilet and taking baths, confined in a room, and forced to perform heavy labour. On July 26th, from 1:00 to 3:00 am, guard Zheng (surname) tied Mr. Zeng Yong's hands and feet to a chair, and shocked him with four electric clubs until he foamed at the mouth and lost consciousness. The police revived him with cold water and continued to shock him. This torture lasted for two hours. -
Women's Team Guards at the Mudanjiang City Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province Torture Falun Dafa Practitioners
2007-08-29The guards often locked the cells so that they could beat and torture practitioners individually. Guards slapped practitioners, bashed their heads onto metal beds and against walls and metal rails. Sometimes they sat on the practitioners to beat them. They often poured a big bucket of water over the practitioner and her bed, and dipped a mop into the water and dragged it over practitioners' heads, faces and bodies. They forced practitioners to watch video programmes slandering Dafa. They shocked practitioners with electric batons. Guards used electric batons to shock those practitioners who refused to recite the prison rules and who persevered in practising the exercises. They shocked the practitioners over their entire bodies, in particular their private areas. A smell of scorched flesh filled the whole cell after the torture sessions. -
Persecution by Brainwashing Is on the Rise in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province
2007-08-29In Changzhou City, brainwashing sessions are one of the elements of the persecution system. Brainwashing sessions can be held anytime and anywhere. In order to achieve the purpose of "transformation," the heads of the 610 Office in charge of all local cities and regions and all street security and neighbourhood committees send people to participate. These professionally-trained people, upon their release from the forced labour camp, are responsible for "transforming" practitioners. All these people work together to form a persecution group. No money is spared, and a large number of people are employed to provide food and accommodations so they can besiege Dafa practitioners around the clock.
