Mr. Pan Hongdong Was Recently Tortured to Death in Prison in Heilongjiang Province

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Pan Hongdong was tortured to death in Tailai Prison on May 15, 2005. Policemen from the Tiefeng Criminal Police Squad brutally tortured him using various means, including shocking his genitals with an electric baton. He was tortured beyond recognition. His body was covered with scars and wounds; there were bloodstains near his mouth, ears, and nose; there was a round scar on his chest; and there were obvious bloodstains on his legs and back. He was a really pitiful sight! -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Huang Liping from Hubei Province Dies as a Result of Torture
2005-06-04On July 9, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang Liping was arrested by police for continuing in her cultivation practice. She was taken to a detention centre, where she was savagely tortured. The guards injured her throat cartilage and vocal cords during a brutal forced-feeding. Ms. Huang aspirated food into one of her lungs, causing violent coughing. After she was released from detention, she was sent to hospital, where an X-ray revealed necrosis of all but a ping-pong ball-sized part of her lung. She often choked on food. The major parts of her lungs became web-like, covered with dead tissue, and she could not drink fluids or eat normally. Ms. Huang passed away on May 4, 2005. -
Police Officers in Liaoning Province Murdered Ms. Liu Zhi
2005-06-04Ms. Liu Zhi was forced to leave her home to avoid persecution. However, she then returned home to help her son go to school. On August 20, police officers broke into her home. Without even letting her put on a jacket, they took Ms. Liu to the brainwashing centre. Within days, she was tortured to death. The authorities did not permit her family to hold funeral services, and unlawfully cremated her body. -
The Mental Hospitals in Jiangsu Province Use Drugs to Torture Falun Gong Practitioners
2005-06-04A practitioner imprisoned in one of the mental hospitals in Xuzhou City was forcibly injected with unknown drugs twice, and force-fed drugs three times. After the injection was forced upon him, the practitioner's limbs became weak. His whole body was in pain and was trembling. His state of mind was unclear, and his thoughts became confused to the point where he could not follow directions. He also could not chew food, and rice would easily fall out of his mouth. He was unable to find his way to the door of the toilet. Staring straight ahead, he walked slowly and drooled. He didn't even have the strength to wash his face or brush his teeth. -

They asked me many questions. I did not mind telling them my good experiences of practising Falun Gong. I told them all about it. But when they asked me specific things like the names of people, certain events or things I felt that could harm other people, I was not willing to tell them. They were not satisfied with my answers and they told me that I was not cooperating well. -
56 Year Old Ms. Liu Yawen Arrested While Distributing Information, Amnesty International Starts Rescue Campaign
2005-06-03According to an announcement by Amnesty International of the United States, 56- year-old Ms. Liu Yawen was arrested on March 31 in Beijing when she was distributing Video CDs containing information about Falun Gong. She was detained in isolation and subjected to interrogation in a detention centre in Beijing. It is likely that she was also brutally tortured. We have learned that officials at the detention centre won't allow Ms. Liu's family members to visit her. In the meantime, officials from the neighbourhood committee and the police station went to search Ms. Liu's house. -
Seventeen Falun Dafa Practitioners Reported Dead from the Persecution
2005-06-0346 year old Mr. Zhao Xin was arrested and detained at a detention centre in 2000. Police brutally tortured him. He was handcuffed for a long time. His top teeth were knocked out. A policeman kicked him in his chest seventeen times, which caused internal bleeding. After he was released, he still felt pain inside his chest, and he spat out dark-red blood several times. Even after his release the police continued to closely monitor him. His health condition deteriorated, and he felt unbearable pain in his chest during the latter half of 2004. He died on January 15, 2005. -
Dafa Practitioner Wang Qiufeng Dies as a Result of Persecution in 2003
2005-06-03Dafa Practitioner Mrs. Wang Qiufeng, 42, was from a village in Heibei Province. She suffered several rounds of brutal persecution from abuse for five months in a detention centre. Her house was raided and the Public Security Bureau extorted two thousand yuan from her family. As a result her body and mind were devastated. She passed away in February 2003. -
Nine Practitioners from Hunan, Guizhou, Hebei, Sichuan and Shandong Provinces Were Persecuted to Death
2005-06-03One day in January 2001, Mr. and Mrs. Wang were taken to a police station in Longkou City. From 2 p.m. until 10 p.m., officer Yu Jiejun interrogated them as to whether they had distributed Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the truth about Falun Gong. He brutally beat them, even though they were both in their 60's. Mr. and Mrs. Wang were beaten black and blue and to look at their faces was horrifying. Police officers constantly went to harass and threaten Mr. Wang. He was monitored at home and wasn't allowed to practise Falun Gong for a long time. He suffered a relapse and died on December 18, 2001. -
Appeal to Rescue Qinghua University Student Ms. Liu Zhimei
2005-06-02After July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong started in China, Ms. Liu, like many other Qinghua University undergraduates, was suspended from university and sent home. They were pressured in various ways and required to write "guarantee statements" of repentance and statements. If not, they were sacked from the university. Because Ms. Liu withstood all this pressure from the university and from her family and upheld her freedom of thought and belief, she was not allowed to resume her course work. To make a living she worked at a games arcade in her hometown. In May 2001, Beijing City Police Department personnel arrested her and sentenced her to one year of imprisonment. There has been no further information about Ms. Liu Zhimei. -
Zhou Jianhua and Other Police Officers at Hohhot City Prison Torture and Murder Falun Dafa Practitioners
2005-06-02Ms. Zhou Caixia was sent to the Hohhot City Prison on July 4, 2003. She never even lay down on her bed, nor was she allowed to sleep. The first day she was in the cell, she had her hands cuffed behind her around the support pillar of an iron bed in a way that forced her into a half-squatting position. She could neither stand up nor squat down. She was also later handcuffed and suspended in the air, causing physical pain beyond the point of human endurance. In one episode she was left hanging froma basketball hoop until she lost all her strength. She begged them in an extremely weak voice, "Please release me. I can't stand this any more." Those who were on guard paid no attention to her. She lost her life as a result of this vicious torture. -
A Report of the Deaths of 18 Persecuted Practitioners in Seven Different Provinces
2005-06-02Ms. Yuan Zexiu, around 60 years old, lived in a village in Shandong Province. After 1999, she was arrested and subjected to brainwashing many times. Around May 1, 2004, when she and another practitioner handed out leaflets exposing the persecution , they were both arrested. A few months later they were sent to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. The labour camp didn't accept Ms. Yuan because of her poor state of health due to persecution. She returned home to Laizhou City on parole. On January 25, 2005, Ms. Yuan passed away. -
Crimes in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison

We heard that two young girls (said to be prisoners) in the Third Branch "committed suicide." Later we found out that they were actually Falun Gong practitioners who were beaten to death, and the prisoners gave false testimony. During the past year, this kind of incident happened a lot. There are unspeakable details behind each "suicide" case. -
Dutch Falun Gong Practitioner Kidnapped in China
2005-06-01Peter Valk, a 28-year-old Dutch man from Woerden, was kidnapped from his hotel room by 15 Chinese secret agents in the night of the 24th to the 25th of May. He was forced into a car with his head between his knees under a blanket and taken to the local ‘6-10 Office’. After two and a half days of detention, he was put on a plane to Thailand on the 28th of May and told he is prohibited from entering China for the next five years. The only reason for his arrest is that Peter practises Falun Gong, a meditation practice for mind and body.
