  • 70-Year-Old Practitioner Shi Zhimin Holds Hunger Strike to Protest Persecution in Meng County Detention Centre

    Falun Dafa practitioner Shi Zhimin, a retired textile plant manager in his 70s, was arrested by police as he was returning to his hometown in Henan Province in December 2004. He is currently in a detention centre and has been on a hunger strike for months protesting his detention. Mr. Shi is extremely weak now. Each day he is taken to a hospital and given injections, and then taken back to the detention centre at night.
  • Elderly Sichuan Province Practitioner Mr. Tang Wenwu Mentally Traumatised by Persecution

    Mr. Tang Wenwu is retired from the Sichuan Province Aerospace Administration. Because he is a determined Falun Gong practitioner, he was brutally persecuted. Since 2001, under orders from the police and his former employer, he has been under house arrest and his salary suspended. Eight people were assigned to guard his house day and night. As a result of this long-term persecution, he suffered a mental collapse and is now receiving treatment in hospital.

    During the time Lei Jingxiong was imprisoned, he was beaten unconscious by police and received many injuries to his head and face. He was found to have blood accumulation under his skull from the beating, the left side of his face was paralysed, and his left ear and left eye were seriously injured. He couldn't eat, and he suffered from memory loss. The following photo shows Lei Jingxiong after two month's treatment in the hospital. The damage to his face is still clearly evident.

    Mr. Deng Ziwen, 76, suffered from angina, heart attack, and various other diseases. He often carried medicine with him, and needed emergency assistance on several occasions. Soon after he started practising Falun Gong in 1995 he discarded all of his medicines, as his health improved. He was persecuted for a long time. The CCP officials ordered his neighbours to watch him closely, and local police repeatedly went to his home to harass and threaten him. The pressure was too much for him and it caused his previous diseases to return. He passed away in June 2004.
  • Elderly Mr. Cheng Xueshan Beaten to Death by Police, His Family Not Allowed to Collect His Body

    Mr. Cheng Xueshan was a 64-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Tongjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. On April 9, 2005, while distributing exposing the persecution was arrested by policemen from the Political Security Division of the Fuyuan Police Department. Three days later, Mr. Cheng died due to the brutal torture he experienced at their hands. The police tightly guarded the hospital mortuary, and did not allow Cheng Xueshan's family members to see or pick up his body.
  • Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Chen Naifa from Fujian Province Tortured to Death by Force-Feeding Through An Incision in the Throat

    Mr. Chen Naifa, in his 40's, was formerly a traffic policeman. Because he practised Falun Dafa, he was sentenced to two years in prison. In order to protest the persecution, he went on a hunger strike without water, facing torturous force-feedings. To force-feed him, the police brutally cut a hole in his throat. Mr. Chen's physical condition was already not good because of the tortures he had endured over a long period of time, and he died under such inhuman mistreatment around April or May of 2004.

    "On June 4, 2003, my son Yao Yaoyuan sadly left this world. I felt great sorrow upon his death. Only because of his saying one sentence, "I want to go out to find a job," he suffered brainwashing for 10 months. What was heartbreaking was the fact that without any trial, without giving his family any written judgment, while he was seriously ill, my son was wrongfully charged with "disturbing the social order," and was sentenced to one year of forced labour. He was finally persecuted to death."

    Because Ms. Li Hongshu insisted on practising the Falun Gong exercises, the guards stripped off her warm clothes, in winter, bound her legs with rope, forced her to sit on the cold cement, and shocked the soles of her feet with electric batons.

  • Ms. Li Hongying from Heilongjiang Province Dies from Torture at the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre

    Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Hongying suffered from haemorrhaging since returning from the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre in mid-February 2005. She had been bleeding for a year at the rehab centre, during which time the guards forced her to work, and abused her with various torture implements until her entire body swelled up and she bled non-stop. The guards told her family to pick her up when she was at the brink of death. She passed away on March 26, 2005.
  • More Than Fifty Falun Dafa Practitioners from Liaoning Province Arrested on the Same Day; Mr. Gai Chunlin Dies in Police Custody

    On April 14, 2005, Fushun City police department sent fifty police vehicles to various villages to arrest practitioners, with their sirens blaring. Police surrounded each practitioner's home before arresting them, frightening the local folks. On May 6, 2005, police notified the family of one of the arrested practitioners, Mr. Gai Chunlin, that he had died.

    Ms. Gan Yulan was 35 years old and was arrested by policemen while posting Falun Dafa leaflets exposing the persecution. She was sent to Nanning City Women Forced Labour Camp where she endured numerous tortures, which severely damaged her mental and physical health. She became very ill with severe pulmonary disease and was and sent back home in June 2002. Agents from the local 610 office continued to harass and threaten her at her home, and then sent her back to the Labour Camp in July 2002. Her condition worsened, and she was sent home because she was dying. She passed away on September 15, 2003.

    According to reliable sources, since the 2005 New Year, the authorities at the Women's Prison of Jilin Province have been isolating all the imprisoned Falun Dafa practitioners from one another and severely persecuting them mentally and physically. This round of escalated persecution is even more brutal, concealed, and deceptive than before. It has also lasted much longer. The authorities prohibit the practitioners from any contact with the outside world in order to hide their crimes.

    Mr. Zhao Yong was a 63 year old retired teacher who had been detained numerous times because he practised Falun Dafa. He was sentenced to a three-year prison term in the Hohhot City Second Prison. During his confinement in the prison, he was repeatedly mistreated, severely weakening both his physical and mental state. His liver disease reoccurred. However, the prison administration refused him medical parole, and he died in April 2005.

    Mr. Liu Yucai was over 50 years old and was detained for two years in the Tumuji Forced Labour Camp for speaking out for Falun Dafa. In order to force Mr. Liu to give up his belief, the police did not allow him to sleep. He was determined to resist the persecution. The police verbally abused him and refused to let him sleep for several days. As a result, his blood pressure rose, and he felt very cold and was in great pain. He had to be released early from the labour camp. To avoid constant police harassment he left home. However, on January 16, 2004, he died.
