After October 2000 my mother and sister were arrested and detained several times for practising Falun Gong. In 2001 my mother was detained for the second time in a forced labour camp. After that, she was on the verge of death several times. The labour camp again ordered me to pay money and also to turn in my sister in exchange for my mother. How terrible their words were! My sister had just been recovering from her brush with death, and my mother's life was in extreme danger. How could I choose between them? The experience was terribly painful. -
Seven Falun Gong Practitioners from Sichuan Province Passed Away Due to the Persecution
2005-05-14In December 2000 Ms. Xu Qing was arrested on her way to appeal in Beijing. She was then detained at a detention centre, where she was subjected to maltreatment and lost consciousness. Her family was called to take her home. She recovered after an emergency treatment, but became mentally confused and broke down. Her family was deeply misled by the CCP's propaganda and had misunderstandings toward Falun Gong. They did not allow her to practise and refused to allow other practitioners to talk with her. Xu Qing passed away on April 16, 2005. -
Beijing Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp Viciously Persecutes Dafa Practitioners and Hides the Truth from Reporters
2005-05-13The team leader of the Third Unit in Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp orders drug addicts to watch the steadfast practitioners in the unit and to assist in their ongoing torture. Many practitioners are locked in a small room and forced to stand or hold their arms in the air for long periods of time. They are also deprived of sleep and toilet privileges. The drug addicts force practitioners into absurd positions, making them cram their heads under a small stool. Sometimes practitioners are also forced to stand naked outdoors on winter nights. -
The Persecution of Dafa Practitioner Ms Li Ying at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2005-05-13Ms. Li Ying was incarcerated in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Before her release she wrote a letter to her parents, which said, "While writing this letter I shiver with fear recalling the past three years in prison. I want to tell all my relatives and family about my experiences. I want to tell everybody about those who have committed crimes so that people will know the truth. Just like me, many other practitioners in the prison had been persecuted so seriously that they had difficulty moving around on their legs. Every day my heart felt the tremendous pressure, and my ears were filled with the loud cries of the people around me." -
The Difficult Life of Ren Yuan, Teenage Son of Ms. Wu Lingxia, Who Was Tortured to Death
2005-05-1314 year old Ren Yuan tragically lost his mother, Ms. Wu Lingxia, at the age of 13. She was unjustly imprisoned and suffered brutal persecution at the Shuangya City Detention Centre and the Jiamusi City Forced Labour Camp. Due to mental and physical torture, she died on July 27, 2002. Due to the persecution Ren Yuan's home and school life were severely disrupted - his father was coerced to divorce his mother and he had to change schools when his persecuted mother could no longer look after him or herself. He now lives with his father. -
Eleven Practitioners, Including Three In Their Eighties, Who Died as a Result of the Persecution in Hebei Province
2005-05-13Mr. Wang Shaodong went to appeal in Beijing and was arrested. He suffered from beatings, torture and mental abuse. The torture caused him to have a mental breakdown. After he was released, he resumed his Falun Dafa practice and basically recovered. In 2001, he was on a train when the police searched him against his will. They found a Falun Gong book and detained and tortured him again. His just-recovered mental status could not bear another round of abuse and he again suffered a breakdown. Additionally, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. In November 2003, Mr. Wang Shaodong passed away. -
Elderly Mr. Zhu Xianghe from Jiangsu Province Beaten to Death in County Brainwashing Class
2005-05-1264 year old Mr. Zhu Xianghe was abducted and sent to a brainwashing class because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa. He was beaten to death only five days later on April 19, 2005. Witnesses who saw his body said his fingers and toes had turned black, his eyeballs and his internal organs had been removed, a truly horrific sight. His son, placed under great pressure by local officials, said his father's body had only lost some internal organs and that the eyes were not removed. Police said he died from natural causes, but it is clear that they are trying to cover up the truth. -
Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Authorities Torture Ms. Li Baojie to Death and Force Her Family to Quickly Cremate the Body
2005-05-12On April 8, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Baojie was persecuted to death by authorities at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. After her death, the perpetrators forced Ms. Li Baojie's family to quickly cremate her body in order to try to avoid responsibility. Due to an enormous amount of pressure, her family gave in and cremated her body on April 15, 2005. -
Qingdao City Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Song Jinlai Arrested Again; Her Father Dies Under Tremendous Mental Pressure
2005-05-12In November 2004, when Ms Song Jinlai was exposing the persecution about Falun Gong, she was arrested and sent to a brainwashing class to be persecuted. At that time, her parents not only had to bear the pain of being separated from their daughter, they also had to tolerate harassment and threats from the local authorities. Her father, who had lived in fear and anxiety, fell ill. He finally passed away in grief and despair, leaving his wife and daughter behind. -
Three Ladies from Liaoning and Shandong Provinces Die as a Result of Persecution
2005-05-1272 year old Ms. Zhang Guizhen was cured of diabetes and heart disease since starting to practise Falun Dafa. In 1999, because she introduced Falun Gong to other people, approximately eight policemen broke into her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. Police tried to forced her to write a guarantee statement to stop practising. Although she refused the authorities continued to harass her. Her diabetes came back and her eyesight began to fail. Practitioner Li Yeming Near Death After Severe Persecution in the Shengli Oilfield
2005-05-11On March 27, 2005, Mr. Li Yeming, a Falun Gong practitioner who worked at the Engineering Exploration Company of the Design Institute of Shengli Oilfield in Shangdong Province, was arrested and held in the Shengli Oilfield Detention Centre. Mr. Li Yeming, emaciated and with a disfigured face, is now near death. His wife was also arrested at the same time as him and is detained in a brainwashing centre in Shengli Oilfield. Her family members have been forbidden to see her. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Bai Jianjun Recounts Persecution Experience at Shanghai First Detention Centre
2005-05-11I resisted the unjust persecution by not signing my name on the "repentance statement". Additionally, I went on hunger strike to protest the persecution. A group of inmates who were led by the guard slapped my face and beat my chest with their fists. A few inmates surrounded me and kicked me. They forced my head into the toilet; and, after three times of being held under, my will was broken and I gave up my hunger strike. Now, I really have experienced how brutal this persecution is and why this persecution has cast such a huge shadow of terror. It has taken months for me to gradually eliminate the terror I have experienced. -
Is a Court that Judges "Truth, Compassion and Forbearance" Illegal a Qualified Court?
2005-05-11Because five other Falun Gong practitioners and I appealed to a higher court for justice over unjust sentences, we were brought to trial together. I was charged with distributing "reactionary" leaflets containing the words "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance" and I was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. The court, the Procuratorate, and police collaborated to distort and exaggerate the facts in my trial. They counted up the pages of material bound into books and decided that any page with "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance" was an "illegal leaflet." I asked, "How can just these few words 'Truth, Compassion, Forbearance' on a page qualify it as a 'reactionary leaflet'?" The judge answered, "'Truth, Compassion, Forbearance' is evil by itself." -
Employees of the Children's Art School of the Hunan Province Department of Culture Are Forced to Defame Falun Gong
2005-05-11February 21, 2005 was the starting date for a new term at the Children's Art School of the Hunan Province Department of Culture. Just one week later, the young students in the No. 4 Calligraphy and Painting class were surprised to find that their very popular teacher, Ms. Gong Xianghui, had disappeared. Their teacher, Ms. Gong, is a Falun Gong practitioner. The school administration fired her because she refused to sign the so-called "safety responsibility letter," which contained statements that defamed Falun Gong. -
Changchun Police Launch Searches Targeting Practitioners Who Possess the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party"
2005-05-10According to insiders, the Chinese Communist Party recently issued a secret order requiring the police to intensify the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners between April 20 and May 20, 2005. The police are ordered to search every practitioner's home, and confiscate anything related to Falun Gong and the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party". To target those practitioners who have been forced to leave home to avoid further persecution, the secret order requires local police to search rented houses and check IDs of temporary residents in those rented houses.
