  The brainwashing centre in Linyi City, Shandong Province, publicly known as the "Law System Education Centre," has been viciously persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Practitioners held there have been tortured with brutal methods including sleep deprivation, severe beatings, force-feeding with salt water (applied to those who went on hunger strikes to resist the persecution), and constant torture by several people at the same time. All of the practitioners were arrested and their families were fined anywhere between three thousand to five thousand yuan.

• The Persecution I Experienced at Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison

  Due to my practising Faun Gong, the authorities arrested me in May 2002 and sentenced me to 11 years in prison. On June 6th 2005 I conducted a hunger strike to protest the extension of my term. On June 9th the police conducted force-feeding on me. The prison doctor inserted a stomach tube into me and had a major part of the tube inside the stomach, which caused me stomachaches and gastrectasia. In the mean time, she also used a metal mouth opener to force open my mouth, which caused injuries to my teeth, upper jaw and tongue. The same tube was used on four to five practitioners in a short period of time. There was no disinfection process, but it was merely rinsed with running water.

• Torture Methods Used in the Shayang Forced Labour Camp in Hubei Province

  The torture methods used in Shayang Forced Labour Camp include the guards stomping on practitioners who were pushed down to the ground. They used several high-voltage electric batons at the same time to shock the practitioners and gagged their mouths with filthy pieces of cloth in order to prevent them from crying out; they also tied practitioners' whole bodies tightly with ropes, pinched their pressure points, viciously beat and kicked them, and shocked them with several electric batons at the same time.

• 65-Year-Old Practitioner Ms. Sun Nianrong From Hebei Province Died from Persecution

  In 2001, 65-year-old Ms. Sun Nianrong was sentenced to a year of "reeducation through forced labour" and taken to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp, where she suffered tremendously. In March 2003 the police extorted 3,000 yuan of her salary through her company. Later, Ms. Sun was taken to the brainwashing centre to be persecuted again. She suffered extremely both mentally and physically and passed away on April 7th, 2006.

• Three Practitioners from Sichuan, Anhui and Jilin Died as a Result of Persecution

  Mr. Li Jinzhao was 63 years old. Since 1999, when Jiang Zemin's regime started persecuting Falun Gong, Li Jinzhao was sent to a labour camp and was subjected to brainwashing classes. He also suffered much physical hardship. In July 2005, the police arrested and sent Mr. Li to a detention centre. There they tortured him physically on many occasions. Then, he was sent to brainwashing classes for further persecution. By that time Mr. Li's body was already swollen from his injuries, and his life was in danger. A few days after he was released for treatment, Li Jinzhao passed away on October 3rd, 2005.

• Investigation Lead: Memory Evoked by the Crime of Live Organ Harvesting Performed on Falun Gong Practitioners

  On the morning of January 1st, 2001, large buses filled with Dafa practitioners were dispatched from the Tiananmen Police Station. Armed police stood next to the windows inside the buses. Close to noon, after a long time of driving, the buses arrived at the gate of a detention centre. All of the practitioners were held in rooms, about 20 per room. Someone knocked on all the doors and said, "Young people, come out." One young woman practitioner inside our room, between 20 years and 30 years of age, looked at the rest of us, stood up and said, "I'm young, I'll leave first." Why did they call for young people to come out first? This thought flashed across my mind.

• Family Members Arrested While Visiting an Elderly Detained Practitioner

  Hao Fukui, an elderly practitioner has been persecuted for the past 9 months and his life is now in danger. His family members, Hao Yaofeng, Liu Mingwei and Mu Chunmei, went to visit him on March 1st, and were detained by the police. They were all sentenced to two years of forced labour. Police sent them to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. On learning of this, their other family members tried every way possible to rescue them. During the process, they met with harassment, verbal abuse and the vicious threats from all branches of the government and the police force.

• Persecution Leaves Wu Chunxia and Her Husband Li Zheng Unable to Reunite With Their Family

  Wu Chunxia and her husband Li Zheng from Hubei province are both Dafa practitioners. Since July of 1999, they have been persecuted. Since their wedding day in 2000, the days they were together have been less than one month! It was either Wu Chunxia or Li Zheng who were detained and tortured. Their daughter was born three years ago but has never seen her mum. Now their three-year-old daughter and Li Zheng's father, who is over seventy years old, are hoping that the day will come when Li Zheng and Wu Chunxia are released.

• Some Details Surrounding the Death of Yang Xiaojie, Who Died from the Torture Suffered in Hebei Province Fourth Prison

  Mr Yang Xiaojie had practised Falun Dafa for many years. He had benefited both physically and spiritually. Knowing that Falun Dafa does not harm any person or country, he decided to step forth to say a fair word so that more people would know the truth about the persecution. However, he consequently was sentenced to eleven years in prison. In prison, police used all means trying to force him to give up his belief, conscience, and basic principles as a human being. Yang Xiaojie went on a hunger strike to protest the injustice. Prison officials force-fed them with milk mixed with a high concentration of salt. Yang Xiaojie had stomach bleeding and vomited blood. Although he was hospitalised, Yang Xiaojie passed away in January 2006.

  The persecution my husband suffered was just brutal. They began at the knees, whipping upward until they reached the neck and shoulders. Belt buckles were used to beat my husband's back. He was soaked in blood and sweat and his flesh was raw. The pain was unimaginable. Then they asked, "Do you still say you cultivate?" My husband answered "yes." Then, they continued to beat him brutally. My husband's entire back, buttocks, and thighs were one bloody mess. All flesh was exposed, and his entire body was covered with blood. The prisoner kicked my husband's left side very hard and his rib broke. The pain had passed the level he could tolerate. He had no other choice left and against his will, he said in a low voice, "Will not cultivate."

• Jiang Zemin's Visit to Rongcheng City Sparks Increased Abuse of Local Practitioners

  On the morning of May 8th, 2006, Jiang Zemin, former leader of China and instigator of the persecution, visited the Xixiakou Corporation in Chengshan Town. The Xixiakou Corporation CEO requested the local policemen to arrest and mistreat Falun Dafa practitioners. At 5:00 p.m. on May 7th two security guards were placed at each Falun Dafa practitioner's home, and no one was allowed to leave. At around 8:00 a.m. on May 8th policemen and security guards stormed into the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners. They tried to deceive the practitioners to go out on a tour, and then lied again and said they wanted to take the practitioners to harvest vegetables on Heilu Island. If practitioners refused to go with them, they would drag and force them.

  I was detained in the Fifth Brigade of the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp on February 17th, 2004. While I was performing forced labour, an instructor waved a piece of paper in front of me, saying, "the "guarantee letter" you wrote isn't right." Taking a quick look at it, I replied, "If it's no good, why don't you tear it up?" The instructor used two electric batons to shock me until the batteries went dead. There were black spots and blisters all over my body, from my neck to my thighs. Then, accompanied by the sound of their laughter, Zhao Shuang pinched my testicles through a plastic bag, causing me unbearable pain.

• Ms. Chen Pingzhen Murdered in Heilongjiang Province; Local Police Refuse to Investigate

  On February 12th, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Pingzhen disappeared after celebrating at a relative's birthday party. The next day, her family members searched everywhere but found no trace of her. On the afternoon of February 14th, Ms. Chen's second son, Liu Zhenchen, a deputy chief at the Hedong Police Station, saw a public notice: "Unknown female body found. Identification needed (photo of the deceased attached)." It had been issued by the Hegang City Public Security Bureau. He recognised his mother in the picture and there was no doubt in his mind that his mother had been murdered.
