United Kingdom: The Song "Missing My Child" Moves People to Tears
2005-08-20In order to draw attention to the plight of orphans of Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death by the Communist regime, UK practitioners held a non-profit open-air concert in Edinburgh on August 7th, 2005, the first day of the Edinburgh International Arts Festival. The concert was entitled “Rescue Orphans of Murder and Torture Victims in China." -
Finland: Letting People Know the Truth about Falun Gong at the World Track and Field Games in Helsinki.
2005-08-20The games returned to Helsinki, Finland, where they were originally held in 1983. There were 1,900 athletes from two hundred countries participating in the various contests and more than one hundred and ninety countries and regions participated in the live broadcasts. It is estimated that four billion people will watch the broadcast worldwide. After learning about this, Falun Gong practitioners in Finland and other North European countries arranged the activity to tell as many people as possible learn about the persecution. -
Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Participate in the Hannover Festival
2005-08-20The Ferryman’s Festival is a popular open-air festival that takes place close to a small river. The organiser invited us to participate when we met at one of our Falun Gong events because he noticed that our demonstrations of paper Lotus Flower folding and Chinese calligraphy were extremely popular. On both days of the festival, our yellow booth was a great attraction. -
Italian Newspaper "Unità" Publishes an Article on the Persecution of Falun Gong
2005-08-20"I was taking a walk in New York City. On the corner of Fifth Avenue near Central Station, many Chinese were giving out fliers to passers-by and telling their stories. They seemed very concerned and needed help. The fliers they gave out described the gross human rights abuses currently happening in China. I spoke to them to find out more. These Chinese people then started recounting to me the tragedies that happened. They said the government in Beijing persecuted a spiritual practice called Falun Gong." -

Finland: Promoting Falun Gong and Exposing the Persecution at the World Track and Field Games in Helsinki
2005-08-18The public passed by in streams. They were attracted by the elegant and quiet exercises. A lot of tourists took picture of the practitioners doing the exercises. After seeing the posters of some practitioners who were persecuted to death, some people wanted to resolve a question: why were these men and women, old and young with kind and gentle faces, persecuted to death? They went to read the display boards or talk with practitioners. After they understood the truth, they signed their names on a petition to show support. -

2005-08-18Liang Zhen's mother Yuan Yuju and brother Liang Jinhui are practitioners of Falun Gong. They were arrested on July 19 on false criminal charges. Situ Hua expressed that Liang Zhen's revealing the facts would at least prevent her family members from quietly disappearing from the world. He hoped that those Chinese Communist Party members who had not quit the party would not assist the evildoers in the persecution of Falun Gong or other groups. -

A small female choir sang songs based on the stories behind three paintings entitled, "Homeless", "Why?" and "Come Back Daddy". A narrator explained the stories in the pictures to the onlookers in detail. -

Finland: People of Helsinki Learn the Truth about the Persecution of Falun Gong
2005-08-16On July 20th 1999, China’s head of state Jiang Zemin branded 100 million innocent citizens as criminals. Fearing that Falun Gong’s widespread popularity was overshadowing his own, Jiang ordered that this traditional practice should be “eradicated”. The Falun Dafa Information Centre has verified details of 2,676 deaths since the persecution began.
