Speeches Delivered by Falun Gong Practitioners at the UN Forum on Human Rights in China
2004-04-09On the afternoon of April the 2nd, the American delegation attending the meeting of the U.N. Commission on Human Rights organised a seminar regarding the resolution condemning China’s human rights abuses. Those attending included representatives of the United Nation’s member states, human rights organisations, Falun Gong practitioners and members of Family Church etc. The auditorium did not have a vacant seat. -
Germany: Students in Albert-Einstein Middle School in Bochum Learn Falun Gong
2004-04-09On March the 19th 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from Bochum in Germany were invited to Albert-Einstein Middle School to teach the students the Falun Gong exercises. The students could not imagine how a peaceful and wonderful practice such as Falun Gong could be banned in China and they asked many questions. They all enjoyed practising the exercises. -
Human Rights Organisations Encourage U.S to Introduce a China Resolution at UNHRC
2004-04-08This resolution points out that China's human rights record continued worsening in the past year. Examples include the on-going repression of spiritual and political groups such as Falun Gong practitioners, Tibetans, Catholics, Protestants, the unjust arrest and detention of spiritual leaders and political dissidents, harsh conditions in prisons and labour camps, forced-labour in labour camps, coercive family planning policies, and deprivation of fundamental freedoms of expression, assembly and press. -
UNHRC: The Draft Resolution Proposed by the United States
2004-04-08On April the 2nd 2004, during the U.N. Human Rights Commission in Geneva, the U.S. Mission to the United Nations held a consultation to discuss the draft resolution on China’s human rights abuses, which the U.S. government planned to introduce to the U.N. Human Rights Conference. More than one hundred representatives from various governments’ and non-governmental organisations' missions to the United Nations participated in this consultation. -
Germany: People Near the Highest Mountain in the Country Happily Learn about Falun Dafa
2004-04-08Recently, a Falun Dafa practitioner moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is located at the foot of Germany’s highest mountain, Zugspitze. In order to let the local people know more about Falun Dafa, he immediately applied for a space in the town centre. A Falun Gong Information Day activity was successfully held on April 3rd 2004. -
Two French MPs Express Concern about the French Police’s Misconduct Towards Falun Gong Practitioners
2004-04-07In March 2004, French MPs Christina Jeanjean and Roger Karoutchi sent letters to Falun Gong practitioners expressing concern about the French police’s misconduct towards Falun Gong practitioners at the time of Hu Jintao’s visit during the Chinese New Year, and asking the French government for a strict investigation. Roger Karoutchi said in his letter, “The issue you stated is extremely serious, so I will definitely ask the French government to allow the facts to be openly discussed.” -
Falun Gong Practitioners Testify at a Meeting of the German International Human Rights Association
2004-04-07April 3rd 2004 was the day of the annual meeting of the IGFM (International Society for Human Rights) in Germany. The meeting attracted more than 250 members from over twenty countries. This is the third year that Falun Gong practitioners have attended and discussed the status of the persecution of Falun Gong in China, as well as the progress of the lawsuit against Jiang in Germany. -
Swiss News Agency: Approximately 500 Falun Gong Practitioners Appeal at the Opening of the UN Human Rights Commission
2004-04-07'According to Falun Gong practitioners, in the past few months they have suffered severe torture and persecution. In only three months, sixty four Falun Gong practitioners have died from brutal torture in prisons, including boiling water being poured on them and serious injury resulting from the use of electric batons on several parts of their bodies.' -
Comments from Representatives of a Chinese Government-controlled NGO Are Condemned
2004-04-06During the 60th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva, something strange took place in the United Nations, which aroused the delegates’ grave concerns. A non-governmental organization (NGO) from China, dubbed “United Nations Association of China” (UNAC), was allowed to participate in the United Nations’ consultations. When attending the seminars held by this NGO, the weird acts of this Chinese organization’s representatives in the “Question and Answer” sessions were condemned by other participants. -
Clarifying the Truth at a School’s Parents' Evening
2004-04-06My daughter is a second-year student in a secondary school. She is a little Dafa practitioner and a good student. Ever since my daughter started secondary education, I have wanted to let all of her new teachers know the truth about Falun Dafa by speaking to them at the school’s Parents' Evening, in which the teachers of all subjects meet the parents individually. Unexpectedly, there was no opportunity to attend the school’s Parents' Evening because my daughter’s academic performance was very good. -

2004-04-05"The Liberal Democrat party recognise the on-going struggles of the Falun Gong practitioners, and have written to the UK government on their behalf in the past. I have also contacted the French authorities personally, and requested of the Directorate General of the National Police that an investigation into this matter be conducted and that steps be taken to ensure such a situation will not arise in the future." -
Special Report by Geneva Broadcasting Station on the Persecution of Falun Gong
2004-04-05Hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world gathered together in Geneva, at the opening of the 60th United Nation Human Rights Conference, to peacefully appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China, which has lasted for 5 years. Geneva Broadcasting station interviewed the Swiss Falun Dafa Association, as well as two practitioners who had personally encountered persecution. -
Spain: Telling the Truth at “Immigration, Freedom Land” Symposium at Comillas University
2004-04-05On March the 18th, Spanish Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in the “Immigration, Freedom Land” symposium at Comillas University in Madrid. The Falun Gong practitioners told the audience that Jiang Zemin’s regime has orchestrated a bloody suppression of millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and extended this persecution beyond the mainland, into democratic countries. -
An Editor of a Spanish Chinese Newspaper: Today I Met a True Falun Gong Practitioner
2004-04-04"There was a Chinese man sitting on the table next to mine. It turned out that he was the editor of a Chinese newspaper in Spain. He said that he knew about Falun Gong and read Falun Dafa websites. He also said that he has never written articles to slander and attack Falun Gong. The Chinese Embassy put pressure on the newspaper to write such reports. But he had his own standard of behaviour and would not go against it and write anything against his will." -
Radio Free Asia: Germany will Support US Resolution Condemning China’s Human Rights
2004-04-04On March 22nd, the US government put forward a resolution condemning China’s human rights. In response, the Chinese government not only put forward a White Paper to defend its position, but also tried to persuade some member African nations to shun the resolution. To gauge the reaction of the German society and government, RFA’s correspondent interviewed a Law scholar from the University of China, Ms Zheng Zhihong, now living in Berlin, on the evening of Tuesday 30th.
