Kindhearted Russian Members of Parliament
2001-12-07Stepping out of the parliament building, I can’t help thinking about China’s Zhongnanhai. Russian citizens can freely enter their parliament building and government offices. They can meet with Members of Parliament and government officials to appeal against any unjust treatment. But standing in front of the doors of Zhongnanhai in China are policemen armed with guns, on guard 24 hours a day. Citizens are strictly forbidden from making appeals or to seek redress for their grievances. -

BBC Monitoring : RSF [Reporters Sans Frontieres] says foreign journalists still persecuted for covering Falun Gong
2001-12-05Since the eradication campaign against Falun Gong was launched by the authorities, foreign journalists have systematically been hindered in their work on this topic. Foreign photographers and cameramen are prevented from working on and around Tiananmen Square where hundreds of Falun Gong followers have demonstrated for the passed years. According to Reporters Without Borders' estimations, at least 50 representatives of international media have been questioned. Some of them have been beaten by the police. The correspondents who have tried to cover the banned movement's activities have been harassed by the security services. Finally, many Falun Gong followers have been jailed for being interviewed by foreign journalists. -
CAMPUS CHRONICLE: U.C.C Student Detained By Chinese Police
2001-12-05"Let me state up front, that the purpose of holding this peaceful appeal was not politically motivated. We have no objection to political power, nor did we disturb political or social order. What you see is exactly what happened – we sat on Tiananmen Square with one hand raised in front of the chest. Within 30 seconds, police vans had surrounded us and began to drag everyone away." -

2001-12-05"The police attacked us and then grabbed the banner. What stood out was the brutal, aggressive way the police officers treated the females in the group,” said Mr. Uhl disgustedly. “The women were kicked and dragged by their hair." -

Revealing the Chinese Embassy's Devious Activities in Russia
2001-12-04After this incident was over the practitioners found out that Chinese secret agents monitor the Market at all times. When the agents noticed Taiwanese practitioners handing out flyers in the Sun District of the Market, they immediately contacted the Chinese Embassy. The Embassy personnel then pressured the Market Officer to demand the arrest of all Chinese people handing out flyers and have them deported, but they found out that those handing out flyers were actually Taiwanese.
