  • The Persecution I Suffered and Witnessed in Nanmusi Labour Camp in Sichuan Province

"The labour camp tramples practitioners like dirt. Practitioners are casually beaten to death or disability. Camp guards once goaded an inmate to beat a fifty-year-old female practitioner to death. This inmate assaulted the practitioner in a locked bathroom. The practitioner was taken out when she had only one breath left. The camp guard ordered me to get medicine from the clinic and said that the situation was very serious. I was told to go back to my cell when I returned with the medicine. No practitioners were allowed to leave their cells. Two hours later, two former practitioners carried away a stretcher. I never saw that female practitioner again. A few days later, an inmate told me that she died from the beating."
  • Family in Mainland China Persecuted, Hong Kong Resident Calls on Hong Kong Legislative Members for Help

Hong Kong resident Ms. Dong Ming's family lives in Zhejiang Province. Since many of her family members started practising Falun Gong they have benefited mentally and physically. However, since the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong, the family was often harassed, had their home ransacked and was arrested. These frequent incidents traumatised the ageing father. He became paralysed and passed away on March 19th, 2005. This sad turn of affairs caused the over 70-year-old mother to become ill.
  • My Personal Experience in Dabei Prison

"I was sentenced to three years in prison and sent to the Dabei Prison in Liaoning Province. The prison guards did not allow me to go to the toilet; many times I soiled my trousers. In the winter, they forced me to sit on the cement floor and tied me up with ropes every day. Whenever I cried out, male prisoners would beat me fiercely. They forced my mouth open and stuffed it with rags or with my own socks, which they had taken off my feet. Then they used bandages to gag me. They also pulled my hair to the point that much of it came out. Every day I was forced to endure hardships like these."
  • Our Child Needs a Father's Love, We Need a Complete Family - a letter to the Police Chief in Guangzhou

"On November 22nd, 2004 at around 10:30 p.m., police barged into my shop and arrested my husband and mother-in-law, who was reading a Falun Dafa book. I heard no news of my husband and mother-in-law. I was left all alone with a two-month-old baby in the freezing winter. My shop was also forced to close and I had difficulty making ends meet. It was only later, when I received a letter from my husband, that I found out that both he and his mother were being unlawfully held and were sent to forced labour camps. Our family's finances are in bad shape. When the baby is sick, there is no one to help me."
  • After Six Years of Persecution, I Long to Reunite with My Parents

"It has been six years since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong. This persecution tore my family apart and destroyed it. Because we believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" we don't lie, and we defend our rights given by the Chinese Constitution. We are persecuted by the CCP. In those six years, how many happy families have been destroyed? How many children have lost their parents? How many old people have lost their children? And how much bloodshed has occurred due to the persecution? "
  • My Mother Was Forced to Become Homeless to Avoid Further Persecution

When my mother was in exile, she again went to Beijing to petition against the suppression of Dafa. Once again she was subjected to torture. The police threatened another practitioner, who was from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and over 50 years old, saying that if she would not reveal her name, they would beat and kick my mum. When the practitioner still didn't give her name, the police began to use coarser methods. They attempted to demoralise my mum by stripping off her clothes in front of the other practitioner. They even threatened to rape her.
  • Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Has Thrown Female Practitioners into Cells with Male Criminals at Least Three Times

"I am a Falun Gong practitioner who has been held in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp many times. When I was at home, I learned that many people knew about the 18 female practitioners imprisoned at Masanjia who were stripped of their clothing and thrown into male criminal cells. That case was widely publicised. But it did not just happen once; it happened at least three times. At another time, the police took ten female practitioners to Zhangshi Training House. They stripped nine of the ten practitioners and threw them into a cell with men. Another time they stripped four female practitioners and forced them into the men's cells."
  • Practitioner Dismissed from Yunnan University without Cause

"I began working toward an MA in Legal Science in 2002 as a part-time graduate student at Yunnan University. On September 28th, 2005, because I practise Falun Dafa, I received a Decision (Yunnan University Graduate School Document no 8, 2005) to dismiss me from the Yunnan University. The document was sent by my teacher in the Legal Science Institute. I am not aware of any rules or regulations that would lead to my dismissal. According to General University Student Management Regulations, article 56, 58 and 61, I appealed my case to Yunnan University. Please take back such an unreasonable decision, so that I can finish my studies."
  • Two Sisters from Jiamusi City Cannot Take Care of Themselves as a Result of Abuse and Torture

"I was arrested in 2003 after informants reported me to the police. I was injected with drugs that damaged my central nervous system. Suddenly I started losing my memory, and I could not move my arms, legs, hands or feet. I could not even recall what my child looked like. My whole body was paralysed, and I could not see anything clearly. My sister was sent to a forced labour camp twice since 1999, spending over five years there. She has also suffered all kinds of inhumane torture in the labour camp simply for refusing to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. She can also not take care of her own daily needs, and remains in a very weakened condition."
  • A Practitioner Describes Her 6 Years of Persecution

"Police officer Zhang Guisheng of the Keyuan Street Police Station arrived at the detention centre, where I was held. He cursed us fiercely and ordered the use of more violence and torture during the brainwashing sessions. Police officer Liu Feng asked me, "Do you choose Falun Gong or your family?" I said, "Practising Falun Gong does not conflict with my family." He jumped up saying, "No! You can choose only one!" I was totally confused. Who gave him the right to force me to make such a choice? Police officers forced citizens to get divorced and involved their family members as a means to threaten us. Such mental abuses are illegal."
  • Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in a Military Enterprise in Anshun City

At the Fenglei Air Force Equipment Manufacturing Factory in Anshun City, Guizhou Province, where I work, the authorities have closely followed former president Jiang Zemin's regime to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. From 2001 to 2004, six practitioners from our factory were arrested because they told the facts about Falun Gong and two died from illnesses that arose as a result of a long and severe persecution.
  • The Persecution Caused My Wife's Death and Injured My Son

"In late 2000, the village police officers arrested my wife and son for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and took them to the detention centre. My son suffered inhumane torture at the hands of the police. Many scars were left on his body. He was so badly injured that he now has trouble controlling his bowels. My wife was imprisoned again and her body and mind were deeply affected by the long-term persecution. After harassment by the police she suffered symptoms of a cerebral hemorrhage and in great pain, she died this year."
  • A Forced Labour Camp Inmate: The Horrific Tortures Used on Falun Gong Practitioners in a Beijing Forced Labour Camp for Women

"I was sent to a forced labour camp because I was addicted to drugs. I was designated as one of the "clampdown personnel," who were prison inmates assigned to oversee the activities of Falun Gong practitioners. Through the performance of my duties, I became acquainted with various reprehensible and deceitful methods employed to isolate and monitor people. Sometimes, in order to gain the approval of the division leader and obtain leniency and privileges for ourselves, we were driven to extremes, finding excuses to beat and insult the innocent practitioners. The prison supervisor favoured inmates who frequently beat and scolded the practitioners."
  • The Torture I Experienced in the Huludao Labour Camp in Liaoning Province (Re-Enactment Photos)

"In December 2000, the Huludao Labour Camp in Liaoning Province violently brainwashed and persecuted Dafa practitioners in order to force us to "reform"1. Seven or eight policemen shocked all the parts of my body with 6 or 7 electric batons at the same time and asked me if I still insisted on practising Falun Gong. Some of them even stood on my stomach, jumping up and down. They seemed to be enjoying themselves."
  • Practitioner from Guangdong Province Tortured to Near Death, Almost Cremated Alive

"In March 2002, police officers arrested me. They kicked and punched me 65 times. Even though I am elderly, they still tortured me like that! I was sent to a forced labour camp, where I was shocked by an electric baton until I lost consciousness. When I woke up, I found I was in a small room with horrible odours. I found out that it was the mortuary. Later, I learned that I had been unconscious in that small room for three and a half days. They were preparing to cremate me but stopped when they discovered that I was still breathing."
