Mr. Shi Baoqi Dies in Police Custody after a Dozen of Practitioners Arrested in Taiyuan City

Around a dozen Falun Dafa practitioners in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province have been arrested in the past month. On November 13th, 2006, police stormed into practitioner Ms. Li Caiyun's home and arrested Mr. Shi Baoqi. A witness saw that he was covered with blood after the arrest Mr. Shi was tortured severely during detention. On December 5th Mr. Shi Baoqi died suddenly after an intravenous injection in the police hospital at age 40. -
Ms. Jiang Yirong Died from Effects of Long Term Persecution
2006-12-17After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution in 1999, Ms. Jiang Yirong was detained and much of her family's property was confiscated several times because she was explaining the facts about Falun Dafa to others. Police threatened her and took her to be brainwashed many times. In May 2006, Ms. Jiang was arrested again and taken to a brainwashing centre. She developed liver cirrhosis symptoms after the long-term persecution and passed away on December 2nd. -
Falun Dafa Practitioners Tortured in the Fifth Division of Jidong Prison in Hebei Province
2006-12-17Mr. Ge Huaiqiang is an expert radiologist. Because he practises Falun Gong, he was sentenced to four years in prison and detained in the Fifth Division of Jidong Prison. The guards once deprived him of sleep for five days and nights. If he closed his eyes, they would incite criminal inmates to push his head into water. When he was on the salt-shovel team, the guards forced him to carry bricks and do intense labour, even when his leg muscles were injured. He has appealed many times but no one has responded. -
Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners at the Tianjin First Prison
2006-12-17"Transforming" practitioners has been linked with rewards for prison guards and the reduction of prison terms for prisoners. I once shared a cell with Mr. Song Yuanshan, a 59-year-old practitioner. One morning when he was just getting up from bed, he was slapped repeatedly in the face by prisoners. When I told the gang not to slap him, they beat me severely. Later, they beat me over and over until both my head and hands were bleeding and my face was swollen. Several of them suspended me on a double bed and then stepped on me with their full body weight so that my thighs became black and blue and I couldn’t walk. I had wounds all over my body. They then locked me in a small room for more than three months. -
The Persecution Suffered by Practitioner Ms. Zhang Junying in Jilin Province
2006-12-1757-year-old Ms. Zhang Junying has been detained and persecuted many times since 1999. In 2001 she was sent to Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp because she was reported for exposing the persecution and telling people the facts of Falun Dafa. The camp forces practitioners to watch videos that slander Falun Dafa and try to force practitioners to write the so-called "Four Statements" to renounce the practice. Practitioners who refuse to write the statements are deprived of sleep and forced to stand near the wall and do manual labour. Ms. Zhang was tortured both mentally and physically until her vision became blurry. -
2,500 Family Members of Falun Gong Practitioners Jointly Sign Letter Exposing Atrocities at the Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp
2006-12-16Ms. Li Jiaju, in her fifties, was nearly killed at the labour camp when she arrived there in January 2006. The guards force-fed her with faeces and urine. They shoved a sanitary napkin and filthy towel inside her mouth. They deprived her of sleep and use of the toilet, and made her stand up or squat for long periods. They also poured cold water on her in the winter until she lost consciousness. They beat her when she came to and taped her mouth so she could not make a sound. She is currently near death, but the labour camp refuses to release her. -
Despicable Tactics Used in Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province
2006-12-16Guards at Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp used despicable tactics to torture practitioners in attempts to brainwash them. In early July 2006, to cover up their crimes of brutally torturing practitioners, the labour camp held a so-called "assisting education" conference, which was broadcast on TV. They invited several families of the tortured practitioners, who suffered mental trauma as a result of the brainwashing. The labour camp distorted the facts to deceive people and cover up their crimes. The truth is that they tortured practitioners to the edge of death. On the surface, they used those family members to present their efforts as good work. -
Mr. Hu Yongjian and His Wife Arrested - Their Young Child and Elderly Parents Left Without Care
2006-12-16In February 2006 Ms. Tang Yunli, was arrested by the 610 Office, and in October, her husband, Hu Yongjian was arrested, leaving their 10-year-old child and parents, in their late 70s, at home without care. The officials confiscated about 3,000 yuan. Ms. Tang Yunli was taken to Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. These people had been recognised in the village for their good deeds and kindness to others. -
Mr. Guo Zhenge Tortured to Mental Collapse in Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing
2006-12-16Mr. Guo Zhenge, a Falun Dafa practitioner, was sentenced to two years of forced labour by the National Security Agents with the excuse of "harbouring Falun Gong books" on January 30th, 2005. The prison guards directed prisoners to beat Guo Zhenge. They deprived him of sleep for many nights. Guo Zhenge had to sit on a stool without moving every day as the prisoners strictly monitored him. He was not allowed to go out of the room. The food given to him was less than half of the normal quantity for detainees. Guo Zhenge suffered a mental collapse as result of the long term mental and physical persecution. -
Mr. Cai Bo from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province in Prison for Nearly 6 Years
2006-12-16In December 2000, many banners saying "Falun Dafa is Good!" were hung all over the Huanggu District streets. Policemen arrested Mr. Cai Bo, 38, brutally beat him, tortured him, but still could not force him to renounce the practice. In Spring 2001, the Huanggu District Court sentenced Mr. Cai Bo to six years in the Anshan Prison, and he was recently released. During these past nearly six years, Mr. Cai Bo has endured all sorts of inhuman tortures, but he always kept a solid faith. -
My Brother, Lin Mingli, Persecuted by Shanghai 610 Office Agents
2006-12-15My younger brother, Lin Mingli, was arrested by Shanghai police and brutally tortured at a labour camp for two years for practising Falun Gong. He was freed from the labour camp due to rescue efforts from the Canadian government and others. A short time after my brother was reunited with his wife he was suddenly arrested again by 610 Office agents. He has been detained since 2005, only because he persists in Dafa practice. The local 610 Office regard him as a major target. -
The Persecution of Ms. Han Guirong from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province
2006-12-15After July 22nd, 1999, police exerted pressure on my husband to make me renounce Falun Gong and prevent me from appealing for Falun Dafa. They threatened to withhold my husband's paycheck and confiscate his apartment. Constable Han Shaojie and Police Chief Zhou Xianting had several meetings with my husband. Each time they coerced him into providing "guarantee statements" to try to force me to give up practising Falun Gong. Due to the pressure and the malicious persecution, my husband deserted Dafa and used divorce as a means to try to frighten me into giving up cultivation. Over A Dozen Older Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province (Photos)
2006-12-15Ms. Li Zhifang was a 72-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Jiamusi City. Since practising Falun Gong, the tracheitis that she previously struggled with was almost healed. However, after July 20th, 1999, officers from the Nangang Local Police Station often went to her home to harass her family. Her youngest son persisted in practising Falun Gong, hence was sentenced to forced labour. Li Zhifang's health deteriorated due to the persecution, and she was once hospitalised. In April 2002, Jiamusi City carried out an entire city search to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. The lawless people went to her home again to threaten and harass her family. Under such huge pressure, Li Zhifang passed away in May 2002. -
Three Family Members Have Died As a Result of the Persecution; Surviving Family Member Persecuted in Detention Centre
2006-12-15Mr. Zhao Guoxin and his wife, Ms. Wang Ying, both practise Falun Dafa. On July 28th, 2001, Mr. Zhao was killed after he was arrested by the Jiamusi Railway Police for having Dafa related materials with him. Ms. Wang's father and father-in-law could not bear the pain of losing him, and they also died one after the other. Despite these events, the police at Hegang still try to torment Ms. Wang Ying by searching her house and confiscating her property, sentencing her and torturing her. -
85-Year-Old Practitioner's Mother Arrested: Guilty Police Officers Remain at Large
2006-12-15On September 8th, 2006, policemen Liu Zhongping and Liu Feng from the Kangping Police Station, Lishu County, Jilin Province, arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Meng Xiangqi and looted his cash, bank card and ID card. Later Mr. Meng was sentenced to six years in prison. On October 30th, Mr. Meng's 85-year-old grandmother, Ms. Zhang Shulan, twice went to Liu Zhongping asking for her grandson's release and return of the confiscated cash. However, she was verbally abused and slapped in the face. Liu dragged her to the street.
