Brutal Torture at the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre: Open Wounds Smeared with Salt

On September 2002, Daqing city Ranqu area Falun Gong practitioner Sheng Xiaoyun and her husband Daiyi were abducted from their home by police, detained for one month, then sent to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre. Before the 16th National Communist Party Congress, guards at the centre began attacking Falun Gong practitioners to try to force them to renounce their beliefs. They ordered prisoners to pinch Sheng Xiaoyun's legs to the point of causing open wounds. They then smeared the wounds with salt to cause maximum pain and covered up the legs with tape. -
Crimes of the Police in Shanxi Province: Dafa Practitioners Forced to Swallow Excrement and Urine, Many Tortured to Death
2003-12-28In Datong, we practitioners were intimidated and threatened. Our families were also implicated. We were followed, watched, illegally detained, brainwashed and even paraded through the streets to be publicly humiliated. Just for practising Falun Gong, some of us were forced to leave home and some were detained many times or penalised with heavy fines. Practitioners were detained in detention centres. The police in Datong Prefecture beat us brutally with police batons and plastic clubs. They put heavy iron chains (weighing several dozen pounds) around our heads and hands, and forced us to walk around the yard. -
A Child's Fear
2003-12-28That evening, the officer who arrested me rushed into the kindergarten with several other officers. My son never gave up on me, but instead of his mother, a group of strangers came for him. They used fine-sounding words to appear as if they were there to take care of the child. They used high sounding phrases such as a "political task," a "job requirement," etc. I could not imagine how my baby withstood their ploys. -
Four Year Old Practitioner Tells the Police, "Go Away You Bad People!"
2003-12-28Once the police stopped their delivery cart and insisted on taking pictures of them. Her mother firmly refused, but the police forcibly took pictures anyway. The police then tried to take them to the detention centre. Four-year-old Xing Er stood on the cart and scolded the police sternly, "Go away, you bad people! Don't you dare to touch my mother! You don't deserve to touch her!" Under their righteous thoughts, the police left in defeat. -
Cruel Physical and Mental Torture at a Women’s Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2003-12-28Of the total verified deaths of Falun Gong practitioners throughout the country, Weifang City accounts for the highest of any province to date. Of more than 100 female Dafa practitioners illegally incarcerated in the forced labour camp, some have been thrown into the First Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province, otherwise known as the "Living Hell" to these female practitioners who have suffered, and continue to suffer from the most appalling atrocities. -
Practitioner Ms. Su Aihua in Critical Condition While in Detention and is now Missing
2003-12-27When her family went to Xin Xiang Prison to locate her, the prison guard claimed that no such person was being detained at the prison. Her family returned to the detention centre and asked the Public Security Bureau about her whereabouts. The Public Security Bureau claimed that she had been transferred to Xin Xiang Prison. Her family then went to the relevant government agency to locate her. The officials there did not provide any information. Ms. Su Aihua disappeared four months ago and no one knows where she is. -
Shulan City Police Hire Low-Ranking Members of Criminal Underworld Organisations to Torture Dafa Practitioners
2003-12-27The hired gang members and thugs force-fed the four Dafa practitioners with water containing chilli pepper and ground mustard powder, then hung them up with their hands handcuffed behind their back. While torturing the four Dafa practitioners, the hired gang members and thugs shouted, "We were paid to make you speak against Falun Dafa!" -
Atrocities at a Labour Camp of Guangzhou City: Tying Practitioners into a Ball and Suspend Them on a Metal Hook
2003-12-27Some practitioners were subjected to additional persecutions such an extension of their jail terms, being subjected to further torture, and being forced to sleep in the corridor. Some people were suspended from the basketball stand, with their feet barely touching the ground. They hung there, rain or shine, all day long, except for mealtime and going to bathroom, until 11 p.m. They would be awakened at 6 a.m. the next day and once again suspended. This treatment continued for over 20 days and sometimes for up to three or four months. -

A Poor Villager Regains His Health Practising Falun Gong, then is Tortured to Death at the Weiyuan County Detention Centre
2003-12-26Mr. Zhang Congming was a kind villager in the No.7 group in Xiaowan of Gaoshi town, Weiyuan County, Sichuan province. He was repeatedly detained and beaten because he refused to give up his practice of Falun Gong when coerced by the town government. He was beaten by someone in the Weiyuan detention centre until he was disabled. After he became physically incapacitated, he sent home, where he died on August 11, 2003. This event caused a lot of indignation in the local area. The unlawful persons in the Gaoshi town government gave his family 300 yuan as a bribe for their silence. -
Two More Falun Gong Practitioners Are Verified to Have Died of Torture, Driving the Death Toll in Shandong Province up to 96
2003-12-26According to those who had a chance to see his body, Xiao Peifeng's chin was pierced and had a hole in it. There were numerous wounds on his chest and under his armpit. The police did not allow people to see the rest of his body. The witnesses also said that one could tell from the body that Xiao had died many days earlier. -
Ms. Deng Huiqun from Guangdong Province Dies as a Result of Persecution
2003-12-26Dafa practitioner Ms. Deng Huiqun from Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province was arrested and detained at the Jiangmen Detention Centre, where she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. After over one month on her hunger strike, she was transferred to the Sanshui Women's Labor Camp in Guangdong Province, but because of her extremely poor health, the labor camp refused to take her. Her family then came to pick her up, but shortly after she returned home, she passed away. -
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Song Youchun Tortured to Death in the Qinglong County Detention Centre
2003-12-26Dafa practitioner Mr. Song Youchun was 54 years old, and lived in Tumenzi Township, Qinglong County, Qihuangdao City. At 6:00 p.m. on December 15, 2003, Song Youchun died at the Qinglong County Detention Centre following 14 days of inhuman treatment. The police ordered his family to remove his body within three days or they would forcibly cremate it. -
More Than 800 Falun Gong Practitioners Have Been Arrested and Persecuted in a Remote County in Inner Mongolia
2003-12-25In January 2003, a female Falun Gong practitioner was beaten and seriously wounded. She died the day she was sent to the hospital. When someone asked police why they don't follow the laws when treating Falun Gong practitioners, they replied that they received orders from the central government that Falun Gong is an exception. -
