  • A Call to Rescue Ms. Zhu Ming in Dalian City

    Practitioner Ms. Zhu Ming from Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is 47 years old. She was arrested by police while she was selling vegetables at a food market. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her family's property. Presently, she is imprisoned in the Yaojia Detention Centre. Zhu Ming's arrest has caused enormous damage to her family. Her 75-year-old mother had a weak heart to begin with, and after witnessing the barbaric actions of police confiscating their belongings, her condition worsened. Every night she is awakened by nightmares of the crimes of the police. She cries to no end.
  • Kindhearted Family in Tianjin City Persecuted for Ten Years

    Mr. Zhou Zhencai; his wife, Ms. Wang Shaoping; and their two sons, Mr. Zhou Xiangdang and Zhou Xiangyang, have practised Falun Gong since 1996. Their whole family has benefited from the practice tremendously. Nonetheless, the Zhou family has been severely persecuted since 1999 for informing people about the true nature of Falun Gong and exposing the persecution to the government. Mr. Zhou and his wife were forced to become homeless to avoid being arrested. From 1999 to 2003, the national security police ransacked their house numerous times and took their valuables. In September 2005, Mr. Zhou was sentenced to the Shuangkou Forced Labour Centre in Tianjin City for two and a half years. His wife was sent to the Banqiao Women's Labour Centre for one and a half years.
  • Honest Official Persecuted by the State Security Department after Being Detained over a Dozen Times

    On February 27th, 2009, officers from the State Security Department and the local police officers arrested Mr. Jiang Guobo and his wife Mrs. Zhou Ling at their workplaces in Shandong Province. When they arrested Mr. Jiang, the police officers pulled a black sack over his head, tied it at his neck, and then carried him to the car. Mr. Jiang has now been detained at the Changle Detention Centre for more than 20 days. In 2005, Mr. Jiang was arrested and brutally tortured. His arms and legs were cuffed to a cross for more than 20 days. He lost consciousness as a result of the unbearable pain.
  • Mr. Xu Jun, 54, Dies as a Result of Torture and Abuse at Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp

    On June 11th, 2008, Mr. Xu Jun, 54, was arrested and beaten by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police. On June 25th, he was sentenced to a labour camp and he was mercilessly tortured and forced to work long hours at the Yinmahe Labour Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province. On February 17th, 2009, after eight months of maltreatment, Mr. Xu Jun died. Mr. Xu Jun had been sentenced to prison twice. The first time he was held in custody in the Tiebei Prison, Changchun City. In 2000 when his prison term matured, the police from Tumen City took him directly from the prison to the Tumen Detention Centre. Mr. Xu Jun's wife was sentenced to ten years in prison due to her faith in Falun Gong. Currently, she is in custody in the Changchun Women's Prison.
  • The Suffering of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Dong Yuying

    On March 16th, 2007, Ms. Dong was taken to a brainwashing centre in Xinjing City, the so-called "Chengdu Law and Education Centre." Ms. Dong noticed a white power residue in her food bowl once she finished eating and asked, "Who put something in my food?" The three "education assistants" immediately yelled at her. Half an hour later she began to exhibit sickness symptoms. She felt dizzy and drowsy, had an upset stomach, and became agitated. Xu Dong removed the bedding from her bed and forbade her to sleep. Ms. Dong gradually developed severe psychological impairment and various illness symptoms.
  • Feng Feng and Deng Tianyu Have Been Tortured and Sentenced

    On March 14th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners Feng Feng and Deng Tianyu from Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, were sentenced to eight and four years' imprisonment, respectively on the charge of "using an illegal organization to break the law." The so-called crime was practising Falun Gong. Mr. Feng was young and strong. Now his hair has turned grey and he is paralysed from the waist down. Mr. Deng has completely lost the sight in his right eye. He can see little with his left eye. Mr. Feng also has limited vision in his left eye. Both of them were tortured until they could no longer take care of themselves.
  • Mr. Tian Haitao Persecuted Again in Jiamusi City

    Mr. Tian Haitao was arrested by awaiting policemen while visiting fellow practitioner Huang Weizhong's home on February 12th, 2009, and taken to the Jiamusi Detention Centre. To date, he has already been on a hunger strike to protest the arrest for more than a month. He is currently in poor health. Although his family members have asked to see him many times, visits have not been permitted. Tian Haitao's wife, children, and many family members have suffered a decade of physical and psychological torture. With Mr. Tian's re-arrest and the possibility of another forced labour term, he and his family are once again in an extremely difficult situation.
  • Ms. Xu Chensheng Suffers Persecution

    Ms. Xu Chensheng has suffered a great deal due to persecution from the Chinese Communist Party for practising Falun Gong. Such persecution includes detention, fines, housing surveillance, having her wages cut by the Chenzhou Cigarette Factory and she was also forced to divorce. In March 2005, the Chenzhou Cigarette Factory cooperated with the 610 Office and attempted to send her to a brainwashing class. In order to avoid persecution, Ms. Xu was compelled to abandon her home and job and was homeless for a month. The factory dismissed her. Afterwards, she was detained for 15 days for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.
  • Teacher Ms. Han Yuheng Arrested In Beijing

    On February 20th, 2009, Ms. Han Yuheng, 40, and seven colleagues went to Beijing on business. They checked into a hotel. Because the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) government registers practitioners in a nationwide computer system, Ms. Han's residential ID number triggered a warning signal during check-in. The Domestic Security Section was alerted, and they informed the police station. On February 21st, police ordered a hotel worker to open the door of Ms. Han's room, and they proceeded to search her belongings. They seized Falun Gong related material. They arrested Ms. Han and took her to the police station. Ms. Han was transferred to a detention centre and is still in detention.
  • 162 Practitioners in Weifang City, Shandong Province Sentenced to Prison Terms or Sent to Forced Labour Camps in 2008

    Under the pretext of last year's Beijing Summer Olympics, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Weifang had intensely persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Lu Fan, around 55, was seized in the end of October 2007 and held at the Changle Detention Centre and was sentenced to four years in prison in March 2008. Lu Fan had previously been sent to three years of forced labour in 2001.
  • Despite Painful Torture, Ms. Shi Xiuzhen Refuses to Renounce Falun Gong, Which Cured Her Bone Cancer

    On March 18th, 2008, a car with no licence plate parked in front of practitioner Shi Xiuzhen's house in Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. Four plain clothes policemen got out of the car and went into the house, ransacked it and beat up Ms. Shi. They took away over one thousand yuan in cash, a motorcycle, a TV, a satellite dish, two mobile phones, and Falun Gong books. They arrested Ms. Shi and took her to the Xinzhan Police Station. They attempted to arrest her husband Liu Zhaofu (also a practitioner), but they were unsuccessful. Police handcuffed Ms. Shi and hung her up by one hand. Neither of her feet were on the ground, and they kept her like this all night. The torture caused excruciating pain to Ms. Shi's bones all over her whole body; it was truly unbearable.
  • Ms. Hu Aiyun Describes Her Persecution Experience and Ten-month Hunger Strike

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Aiyun was arrested by the police and sentenced to eleven years of imprisonment. She was taken on May 12th, 2004 to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison. There she was subjected to many types of torture. Hu Aiyun had no choice but to hold hunger strikes many times to protest the persecution. This time her hunger strike has lasted more than ten months. She has been brutally force-fed by guards. She is emaciated and the prison have refused to allow visits by her family members.
  • Ms. Li Suxue from Fengtai District in Beijing Died Under Persecution in Detention

    On October 1st, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Suxue, 49 years old, was tortured to death at a forced labour camp. After Ms. Li's death, her family asked that her body be released to them. Authorities from the forced labour camp refused to release the body and forbade anyone to take pictures or videotape the body. They did not allow practitioners to attend Li Suxue's funeral and arrested those who came to pay their last respects at the funeral.
  • The Tragic Story of Mr. Li Qingsong's Family

    Mr. Li Qingsong and his wife are both Falun Gong practitioners. Since the Communist regime in China began persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, their family could no longer enjoy peace. The couple have spent more time apart than together. The child had to live sometimes without his dad's care, and sometimes without his mom's love, and sometimes without both, completely losing the carefree life he enjoyed before. Mr. Li's elderly parents also suffer from worrying about their son, daughter-in-law, and daughter constantly being arrested and put into labour camps. Currently Mr. Li is held in the Qian'an City Detention Centre. It has been 15 months.
  • Practitioner Ms. Kuang Deying Persecuted in Forced Labour Camp for Six Years, Secretly Sentenced to Four-year Prison Term

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Kuang Deying is from Kunming City, Yunnan Province. After being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for six years in a forced labour camp she was again arrested on July 16th, 2008, police. She was taken to the Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City Detention Centre that same night. In December 2008, the Qiaojia County Court secretly sentenced Ms. Kuang to a four-year prison term. Ms. Kuang did not accept the verdict and requested an appeal.
