Xiao Dong, who was forced to package chopsticks in the Handan Labour Camp, said, "I will never use the supposedly sterile chopsticks when I am released. During the hot summer when we work, we sweat all over. Some people intentionally scratch themselves with the chopsticks and then put the chopsticks covered with sweat into the bags. One time I caught a cold and had a runny nose. I know I dripped on the chopsticks, which were then packaged. Some inmates wear slippers and insert the chopsticks between their toes before packaging them into the bags." -
Falun Gong Practitioners Brutally Persecuted at Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province
2009-03-04When Mr. Zhang Guosheng first entered Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp on April 29th, 2008, he was subjected to various forms of torture including electric shock, being hung up by the handcuffs, and severe beatings by multiple people for long periods of time. One evening, chief Zhao Yunfu of the "Strictly Disciplined Team" asked several inmates to help force steadfast practitioners to give up their beliefs, starting with Mr. Shao. Two inmates brutally attacked Mr. Shao for more than six hours, using their knees, elbows, and fists to strike him repeatedly. -
Diary of a Falun Gong Practitioner from Panjin Prison
2009-03-04A Falun Gong practitioner who was once held in Panjin Prison wrote a diary about the extremely difficult circumstances, exposing how prison guards brutally beat and tortured practitioners, and forced them into slave labour. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Diary entry: August 18th, 2006: Guards and Director He tied practitioners Mr. Chen Binli, Mr. Song Zhendong, Mr. Tian Yunhai, Mr. Zhang Zhenxue, Mr. Liu Deqing to iron chairs, and several guards shocked them with electric batons and beat them. The smell of burned flesh filled the hallways. -
Ms. Fan Xiaoli Taken to Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia
2009-03-04In late January, 2009, Ms. Fan Xiaoli, Ms. Liu Xiurong, Ms. Tian Fang, and Ms. Xiao Yonghua were taken to the Hohhot City Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region after receiving sentences from a local court. Ms. Fan was injected with unknown drugs. Guards Shan Jun and Bao Wuyun testified against Ms. Tian Fang and she was sentenced based on fabricated charges. Ms. Tang Liwen, 68, arrested in January 2008, was also detained in the Hexi Detention Centre. She was tied to the death bed. She was also injected with unknown drugs, and as a result, she became mentally ill and could no longer take care of herself. -
Police from Yinan County, Shandong Province Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners and Confiscate Their Belongings
2009-03-04According to incomplete statistics, from July 20th, 1999 to present day, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials from Yinan County have confiscated and destroyed more than 100,000 Falun Gong books plus Falun Gong materials. They have held vicious brainwashing sessions to persecute 130 practitioners and extorted 460,344 yuan from them. They have ransacked the homes of 35 practitioners 43 times and confiscated numerous items and other property. During the past 9 years, 109 practitioners have been detained 171 times, and 40 practitioners have been sentenced to forced labour 43 times. There is evidence that 1 practitioner has been injured as a result of persecution, 2 practitioners have been persecuted to death; 2 practitioners have become mentally disordered from persecution, and 21 practitioners have become homeless. -
Details about the Death Due to Torture of Mr. Gai Chunlin from Qingyuan County, Fushun City
2009-03-03Mr. Gai Chunlin was arrested in April 2005 by police and sent to a brainwashing centre. On May 6th, Mr. Gai's family was informed that he had died from heart disease. When Mr. Gai's family rushed to the scene, they saw Mr. Gai's remains were covered by clothes. Mr. Gai Chunlin's younger brother said, "My brother did not have heart disease, how did he suddenly die of it?" Then they saw the scalds on Mr. Gai Chunlin's distorted face and right chest and demanded an autopsy. The autopsy results showed that Mr. Gai's lower oesophagus had been cooked by boiling water and would peel off with the stroke of a finger. Mr. Gai Chunlin was tortured to death by the Chinese Communist Party personnel because he practised Falun Gong. He died at the age of 52. -
61 Year Old Ms. Jiao Shuzhen Sentenced to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison
2009-03-03Ms. Jiao Shuzhen is 61 years old. After being arrested by the police from her home in March 2008, she was sentenced to 4 years in a prison in December 2008. On January 3rd, 2009, she was transferred to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison. Her husband's life is very difficult since he is almost 70 years old, with cancer and can hardly walk. -
Ms. Ruan Aiyin Brutally Persecuted in Fujian Province
2009-03-03Ms. Ruan Aiyin, in her 40s, was arrested by police. She was later sentenced to prison for refusing to renounce her beliefs. Besides being brutally tortured in various forced labour camps and prisons, Ms. Ruan also had one of her organs removed without her consent. After surgery, Ms. Ruan felt excruciating pain in her stomach area. Yet was not given a good reason for the surgery. When Ms. Ruan was taken back to the labour camp, her hands and feet were tied to an iron bed and she was beaten and tortured for refusing to renounce her belief. She vomited blood on two separate occasions. -
Former Street Thug Who Became Upright after Practising Falun Gong Now Arrested for His Belief
2009-03-03I was concerned when I heard that the Communist regime had arrested Mr. Liu Yunchao in Huangshi City. I got to know Liu Yunchao ten years ago when he first began practising Falun Gong, which changed him from a street thug to a person of virtue. The regime sent this practitioner, who follows Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, to prison. When the persecution started, he risked his life to expose the persecution about Falun Gong to society and now he is detained and faces sentencing. -
Mr. Dong Peng in Critical Condition in Hulan Prison
2009-03-02Mr. Dong Peng, a Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He is incarcerated in Hulan Prison in Harbin City and has been tortured. The prison guards ordered the inmates to monitor him around the clock. He was frequently beaten, threatened, and forced to do a lot of physical labour. His chest is badly bruised and abraded. He is in critical condition. -
Mr. Luo Xianbao Paralysed from Torture--Prison Refuses to Release Him
2009-03-02On January 31st, 2009, Mr. Luo Xianbao's family received a call from Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City. The prison guards claimed that Mr. Luo, a Falun Gong practitioner, had been sent to the prison hospital due to his high blood pressure. His family went to see him in Shayang Forced Labour Camp, 400 kilometres (600 miles) away from home. They found him confined to bed when they visited him the next day. He was unable to move his left hand and leg, his eyes were vacant, and his speech unclear. He did not recognize his family. His family requested his immediate release. The prison guards deceived Mr. Luo's family by saying that Mr. Luo would be sent home after he was released from the hospital. -
Two Practitioners Died as a Result of Persecution in Heilongjiang and Shaanxi Provinces
2009-03-02Practitioner Mr. Yao Jingming, in his 70s, was arrested by police and taken to Zaozihe Men's Forced Labour Camp. Because Mr. Yao refused to give up his faith, the guards detained him in a small, dark cell with several drug addicts. He was subjected to sleep deprivation and forced to squat with only one foot touching the floor. His whole body became swollen, and his toenails all turned black. Only three months after entering the camp, his health deteriorated so badly that he was carried home on a stretcher. He died soon after. -
Falun Gong Practitioners in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Tortured During the Olympics
2009-03-02Guards in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp used electric batons, hung practitioners using handcuffs, physically abused them, and made them to stand for long periods of time. They employed a military management style, forcing practitioners to stand in lines under the burning sun. The practitioners were ordered to practise yelling slogans, sing Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and labour camp songs, and recite the thirty labour camp rules before and after each meal. If practitioners didn't cooperate, they were left in the burning sun or tortured. Some practitioners were tortured until they lost the ability to take care of themselves, became mentally unstable, had heart attacks, or were no longer able to stand. -
Letter of Appeal from 59 Relatives and Friends of Falun Gong Practitioners in Heilongjiang Province
2009-03-01Because government officials in China refuse to accept the legal appeals of Falun Gong practitioners, and official avenues of justice are closed to practitioners in China, we wish to use the Falun Gong Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom) to lodge a protest against the persecution of practitioners and their friends and family members. We also call on people of justice throughout the world to forward our appeal to international human rights organizations and help us rescue our family members. We truly appreciate any help that you can offer. -
Police in Tumen City, Jilin Province Break the Legs of Disabled Practitioner Ms. Liu Shanzhen
2009-03-01Ms. Liu Shanzhen is a 48-year old woman. Her right arm and both legs are disabled. On December 14th, 2008, Domestic Security Division agents from the police department arrested her simply because of her faith in the principles of Falun Gong, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Right now, Ms. Liu is being held in the Anshan Detention Centre. Several policemen took turns beating and torturing Ms. Liu. Police also broke her already disabled legs.
