Severe Persecution in Heilongjiang Women's Prison

In April 2003 the practitioners who were detained in Ward Eight refused to do hard labour. Ms. Ren Shuxian, a practitioner, said, "We are not guilty. We are being persecuted so we won't do any labour." Zhang Xiuli, the captain of the ward, ordered prisoners to hang those practitioners who refused to work in front of the upper berth of a bunk bed. They were left hanging 24 hours a day for more than two weeks. Their feet became horribly swollen. -
Crimes of Torture Committed by Luyuan Police Department, Changchun City
2008-04-27There was a room in the Luyuan Police Department where police tied practitioners to the tiger bench with ropes and handcuffs. The tiger bench was a long chair made of steel bars that had a back. The police would tie heavy objects to practitioners' ankles when they were on the bench. This form of torture was already very painful, yet the police also tortured practitioners using various other methods while they were confined to the bench. The police would pull their hair while punching their heads or throats; practitioners would be suffocated by having plastic bags placed over their heads; water was poured into their mouths to choke them; their fingers or toes were burned; nails were driven into their fingernails or toe nails; and they were often shocked with electric batons. -
Two Schoolteachers Arrested in Tianjin City
2008-04-27On April 7th, 2008, two schoolteachers, Ms. Zhao Fei and Ms. Liu Lihua, both Falun Gong practitioners, were arrested by police. The headmaster of Shigezhuang School reported Ms. Zhao and Ms. Liu to the police for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution to students and telling them the facts about Falun Gong. In 2000, Ms. Zhao Fei and Ms. Liu Lihua went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. They were arrested. At the police station, they were beaten and left with cuts and bruises all over. Their faces were disfigured and their hands and feet burnt by the shocks of electric batons. The communist party officials even handcuffed them to utility poles and put them on display in public to defame them. -
Ms. Xu Yufeng of Renqiu City Developed Lung Cancer as Result of Detention and Persecution
2008-04-27The police arrested 68-year-old Ms. Xu Yufeng on October 15th, 2007. She was detained in the Jizhong Police Station for six months. During that time, she was physically and mentally abused by members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This abuse left her spitting up blood many times. She was hospitalized four times due to the abuse, and diagnosed with lung cancer. Again in police custody and secretly tried, her family was not informed. Although she was very weak, the police kept her in handcuffs. Fifteen-thousand yuan was demanded from her family by the CCP members for her release, but the family refused to pay. -
Seven-Year-Old Girl's Misery

Gong Yu, a seven-year-old girl from Heilongjiang Province, often cries in front her parents' pictures. She also writes letters to her daddy and mummy and sends her drawings along with them. In one letter she wrote, "Daddy, when you return home, I will give you a cupful of my tears. Daddy and mummy, please come home soon. I am a very good girl now. It's so unfair! I don't have my daddy and mummy at home because they believe in Falun Gong. Now daddy will not even recognize me. I can't see mummy, either." -
Mr. Wen Kuan in Critical Condition After Nearly Three Years of Persecution
2008-04-26Mr. Wen Kuan is a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. In April 2005, he was taken into custody by Qiaodong district police and tortured until he suffered from an inguinal hernia on the right side and became partially deaf. Medical treatment was not provided to Mr. Wen. Instead, he was sentenced to four years in prison. For the past three years, Mr. Wen has been imprisoned at Yudong Prison, where he is relentlessly persecuted. Mr. Wen's inguinal hernia has worsened. In December 2007, he had difficulty urinating and having a bowel movement. The hernia has also doubled in size and is very painful. This has seriously affected Mr. Wen's daily activities. -
The Persecution of Practitioners by the National Security Division of Hongta Police Department in the Yuxi Area of Yunnan Province
2008-04-26During the past eight years, the National Security Division of Hongta Police Department in the Yuxi Area of Yunnan Province has been arresting, interrogating, and imprisoning Falun Gong practitioners. They once claimed that whoever practises Falun Gong in the Yuxi area would be arrested. They also claimed that even if those who secretly did the spying and tracking found no evidence, they could still find an excuse to arrest you and then search your home to find evidence. It doesn't matter if the sentence is wrong or too heavy because no one would dare to defend Falun Gong. Those without any income can be sentenced to forced labour. Those with jobs and income are also sentenced to forced labour and they lose their jobs when they return. -
Practitioners Ms. Sun Xiaohong and Mr. Sun Siye Arrested in Shandong Province
2008-04-26On February 23rd, 2008, police officers arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Xiaohong and detained her at the Tancheng County Detention Centre. On March 6th, 2008, Political Security Office Agent Hou of the Tancheng County Police Department arrested Mr. Sun Siye. He is being detained at the Tancheng County Detention Centre. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted by the National Security Department of Zhoukou City, Henan Province
2008-04-25On January 17th, 2008, a group of police officers from the National Security Department forcibly entered practitioner Mr. Zhang Siying's home. The officers announced that they were looking for a satellite dish. The officers acted without regard for legal procedures. They searched the home and seized a TV, DVD player, and an MP3 player, along with other valuable items. The officers were inconsiderate of the fact that Mr. Zhang Siying was quite weak due to his imprisonment and persecution over the past several years. Officers Han and He directed the other men to twist his arms and take him to the police station, where he was put in a jail cell. -
Mr. Song Aichang Sentenced to Detention in Shijiazhuang City
2008-04-25Police arrested practitioner Mr. Song Aichang at noon on June 22nd, 2007. They ransacked his home and took him to the Keyuan Police Station, where they tortured him. The police submitted documents containing fabricated information against Mr. Song to officials at the Qiaoxi District Procuratorate. The court held a trial on the morning of October 26th, 2007. Mr. Song's lawyer presented an airtight argument. The judge, however, dared not cross the police. The case was returned to the Procuratorate for supplemental information. It was re-submitted to the Qiaoxi District Court on January 18th, 2008. Another trial commenced on February 27th, six days past the 45-day retrial statute of limitations. -
Mr. Zhang Deming Arrested Again, Faces Second Prison Sentence for Practising Falun Gong
2008-04-25On March 10th, 2008, the local Police Department, National Security Team, and Public Security Team of Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province deployed eight police vehicles to surround Mr. Zhang Deming's home and arrest him. Later, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police issued an "arrest warrant" and are planning to sentence Mr. Zhang to prison. The police ransacked his home, and confiscated Falun Gong materials and a large number of Mr. Zhang's personal belongings and extorted a large amount of money. -
Crimes Committed by Chuotou Brainwashing Centre Personnel in Guangzhou
2008-04-25The brainwashing centre in Chuotou is specifically for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. When I was arrested, I was locked up in a dark room. Installed on the roof are pinhole video recorders. Guards on duty may turn them on and watch the practitioners' movements in each room at will. This equipment is configured according to the "attitude" of the practitioner being brainwashed. Those deemed to have been thoroughly brainwashed may turn on the air conditioning, watch television, be assigned to a more ventilated room, and so on. That very evening the principal guard told me to "reform" sooner and confess on my own initiative. He suggested that if I missed the opportunity to act out of my own initiative, I would be in big trouble. -
Additional Information about Guo Hanpo - Tortured to Death in Baoding Prison
2008-04-24In 2001, Guo Hanpo, 56 years old, was arrested by police because he practises Falun Dafa. He was held for more than one year before finally being sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment. He was detained in the Baoding Prison. Guards and "transformed" people tried to brainwash him. Several prisoners watched him around the clock. He was often confined to his cell for long periods. He was not allowed to have a full meal while doing heavy labour. Several years of torture forced his blood pressure up to 200. Under mental and physical torture, he became emaciated, losing the very healthy and strong body he earlier had. He looked totally different. Later on, although the guards did not force him to do labour, they tortured him mentally. Last year, his family members went to the prison to ask for his release. The prison did not release him until he died. -
Ms. Gu Li and Ms. Qiu Shuping Arrested in Liaoning Province

Ms. Gu Li and practitioner Ms. Qiu Shuping explained to people how they benefited from the practice of Falun Gong and exposed the facts about the persecution. They were arrested on the afternoon of March 20th, 2008 by police and three security officers. The two practitioners were taken to the police department and then to a detention centre. Numerous police officers ransacked their homes. -
Elderly Mr. Qirimailatu Dies in Custody in Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region
2008-04-24On August 8th, 2007, police arrested Mr. Qirimailatu, 72, for the third time while he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. They had him sentenced to forced labour again, but the camp refused to admit him due to his advanced age and the physical tests that he failed, so he was detained in Inner-Mongolia Detention Centre. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution on December 6th, 2007. He died after detention centre administrators rushed him to the prison hospital on January 5th, 2008. Information revealed he was as thin as a skeleton and was unable to speak during the time he was detained.
