  • Ms. Yang Sulan is Tortured to Death in Zhangshi Forced Labour Camp

    The Zhangshi Forced Labour Camp kept her from sleeping, insulted her verbally, and constricted her upper body to cause her great pain and difficulty when breathing or raising her hands. They threatened her with hard labour if she would not give up her belief. After being tortured for more than 50 days, she was released, but the harassment continued. On June 1, 2003, and she passed away at home.
  • Mr. Yu Chunhai Dies on Return from Long-Term Detention in an Unknown Location

    In order to avoid further persecution, Yu Chunhai had to leave home and wander around. However, later on he was arrested again and subjected to long-term detention and torture. No one ever knew where he had been detained. On the night of November 14, 2003, several strangers brought Yu Chunhai, who was on the verge of death, back to Machang Village, whose residents hadn't seen him for a long time. The strangers dropped him off in a home and left. Three days later, Yu Chunhai passed away.

    The police ordered the guards to strip off Mr. Lin's clothing and then drag him outside. The guards pressed him down the ground and sat on his four limbs. They let his back be exposed to the scorching sun for a long time. They then turned him over and exposed the front of his body to the burning sun. Seeing he still wouldn't give in and renounce Falun Dafa, the police wrapped him with two heavy quilts and continued to expose him to the scorching sun. Altogether, Mr. Lin was subjected to the intense heat of the summer sun for several hours until his life was in grave danger.

    In addition to the illegal imprisonment, Ms.Yuan had been continuously tortured by the prison guards and inmates. On December 9, 2002, Ms. Yuan's family was notified to take her home from the Shibalihe Female Forced Labour Camp because she was at the brink of death. Ms. Yuan was beyond medical help and died on September 8, 2003.

    After this, the police understood how difficult it was to end Ms. Liu's life. They thought that if they freed her she would definitely die in her home. Even under such circumstances, the police did not forget to try to make some money. They sent a message to her family, saying that Ms. Liu would die soon. Her spouse was tricked into paying 3000 Yuan and write a statement in order to take her home. On August 28, 2002, the detention centre let her go home on the grounds of her being sick.

  • Dafa Practitioner in Jilin Province Released Following Phone Calls From Overseas Practitioners

    Police officers in Shulan City were heard saying, "We had no idea that Falun Gong practitioners are everywhere. We have been receiving lots of overseas calls every day." Overseas phone calls are greatly effective in shocking and scaring the unscrupulous authorities. China's local practitioners are also participating in the effort by clarifying the facts to people and exposing the wrongdoings.

    In the October of this year, 2003, the prison again deprived Dafa practitioners of their sleep, trying to force them to give up their belief. Li Hai's wife went to the prison and wanted to see him but the head of the 2nd prison Zhu Renshan told her "I heard that you also practise Falun Gong, if you say now that Falun Gong is not good, I will let you see him right away." He then said, "It is not me who does not let you see him, it is the order from 'above' that says 'No transformation, no visits'." The head of the team in which Li Hai is detained said, "It is no use even if you go to the 'above' and talk to them. If he refuses to write the 'five statements', you will not be able to see him for 12 years."

    On September 2002, Daqing city Ranqu area Falun Gong practitioner Sheng Xiaoyun and her husband Daiyi were abducted from their home by police, detained for one month, then sent to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre. Before the 16th National Communist Party Congress, guards at the centre began attacking Falun Gong practitioners to try to force them to renounce their beliefs. They ordered prisoners to pinch Sheng Xiaoyun's legs to the point of causing open wounds. They then smeared the wounds with salt to cause maximum pain and covered up the legs with tape.

    In Datong, we practitioners were intimidated and threatened. Our families were also implicated. We were followed, watched, illegally detained, brainwashed and even paraded through the streets to be publicly humiliated. Just for practising Falun Gong, some of us were forced to leave home and some were detained many times or penalised with heavy fines. Practitioners were detained in detention centres. The police in Datong Prefecture beat us brutally with police batons and plastic clubs. They put heavy iron chains (weighing several dozen pounds) around our heads and hands, and forced us to walk around the yard.

    That evening, the officer who arrested me rushed into the kindergarten with several other officers. My son never gave up on me, but instead of his mother, a group of strangers came for him. They used fine-sounding words to appear as if they were there to take care of the child. They used high sounding phrases such as a "political task," a "job requirement," etc. I could not imagine how my baby withstood their ploys.

Of more than 100 female Dafa practitioners illegally incarcerated in the forced labour camp, some have been thrown into the First Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province, otherwise known as the "Living Hell" to these female practitioners who have suffered, and continue to suffer from the most appalling atrocities.

    When her family went to Xin Xiang Prison to locate her, the prison guard claimed that no such person was being detained at the prison. Her family returned to the detention centre and asked the Public Security Bureau about her whereabouts. The Public Security Bureau claimed that she had been transferred to Xin Xiang Prison. Her family then went to the relevant government agency to locate her. The officials there did not provide any information. Ms. Su Aihua disappeared four months ago and no one knows where she is.

    The hired gang members and thugs force-fed the four Dafa practitioners with water containing chilli pepper and ground mustard powder, then hung them up with their hands handcuffed behind their back. While torturing the four Dafa practitioners, the hired gang members and thugs shouted, "We were paid to make you speak against Falun Dafa!"

    Some practitioners were subjected to additional persecutions such an extension of their jail terms, being subjected to further torture, and being forced to sleep in the corridor. Some people were suspended from the basketball stand, with their feet barely touching the ground. They hung there, rain or shine, all day long, except for mealtime and going to bathroom, until 11 p.m. They would be awakened at 6 a.m. the next day and once again suspended. This treatment continued for over 20 days and sometimes for up to three or four months.
