Mr. Wang Baojin Dies in Custody in Liaoning Province

After the persecution started in July 1999, because Mr. Wang Baojin refused to give up his faith in Falun Gong he was fired. The police detained Mr. Wang in Yingkou City Detention Centre. In order to protest the persecution, Mr. Wang went on a hunger strike. The guards brutally force-fed him, causing him to cough up blood throughout the night. He was cruelly beaten multiple times and nailed onto the bed board. He was beaten so badly that he suffered from severe traumatic pleurisy, and was rushed to the hospital four times in two weeks. In July 2004, Huazi Prison authorities put Mr. Wang on forced labour duty and tortured him. Mr. Wang had been tortured so badly that he passed away on December 9th, 2009. -
Ms. Guo Zhaoqing Tortured and Secretly Sentenced to a Ten-year Term
2009-12-19Ms. Guo Zhaoqing was arrested nine times and subjected to various kinds of torture between 1999 and 2009. In 2000, she was arrested after going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and was held in Tianjin City. On January 16th, 2001, she was arrested and sent to the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp in Chenzhou City for a two-year term. While in the labour camp, she suffered from a number of tortures including being hung by her handcuffed wrists, electric shock torture, and beatings until she was on the verge of death. On April 21st, 2009, Ms. Guo was arrested and then tortured until she was paralysed. In December Ms. Guo was sentenced to a ten-year term. -
Mr. Mei Dazuo from Wuhan City Sentenced
2009-12-19Mr. Mei Dazuo runs a business in Xiaodongmen, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, selling floor boards. Mr. Mei is an honest, well-respected businessman. However, because of his firm belief in Falun Gong and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the Chinese Communist Party has brutally persecuted him. On October 22nd, 2009, he was sentenced to four years in prison. When Mr. Mei's lawyer said that his client had not violated any law, the judge agreed with him but said that they did not have the final say in the matter, because such a case was subject to the decision of the Political and Judiciary Committee and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). -
Police of Xianyou County, Fujian Province Persecute Falun Gong Practitioner
2009-12-19On August 11th, 2009, chief Yang and officer Xie Desheng of the Domestic Security Division in Xianyou, Fujian, and police from the Daji and Longban village police stations broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Zheng Zeyu and ransacked it without a search warrant. They broke household items and alarmed Zheng Zeyu's only relative, his younger brother Zheng Zexin, who suffers from leprosy. The neighbours begged the police to stop tormenting the unfortunate brothers, who had been orphans since childhood. But the depraved officers ignored them. Zheng Zeyu became homeless. His brother was left on his own, unable to take care of himself. -
Large Scale Organ Harvesting in Guizhou Province Exposed
2009-12-18In August 2006, the overseas media filed many reports about Guizhou Falun Gong practitioners Fu Keshu and Xu Genli. The practitioners had their organs removed and the their corpses were thrown into the wilderness. The eyeballs had been dug out and Xu Genli's visceral organs were taken out of the young man. Dr. Xu Jianchao from the kidney branch of Yale University analysed the pictures and saw many signs indicating that their organs were removed while they were alive. However, the CCP police claimed they both committed suicide, so the families' requests for further investigation were denied. The pictures of the remains were horrible to view and shocked many people both inside and outside of China. -
The Persecution of Mr. Yu Yaou, a Doctoral Student at the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences
2009-12-18In 2008, Mr. Yu Yaou, a doctoral student at the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was arrested along with his wife Ms. Li Shanshan while visiting a friend in Guilin. The police took them to a brainwashing centre. In the detention centre, the couple was forced to perform hard labour. Ms. Li refused to wear the prison uniform and to do the forced labour. The guards ordered other prisoners to beat and insult Ms. Li. They tortured her by shackling her hands and feet together. After they returned home, Ms. Li was fired from her job and Mr. Yu, who was working on his research dissertation, has been constantly harassed and threatened. -
The Persecution of Ms. Li Mei from the Intermediate Court of Justice in Hefei City
2009-12-18On June 12th, 2008, Chinese Communist agents detained Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Mei who worked for the Intermediate Court of Justice, Hefei City, after breaking into her home. Under unwarranted charges, Ms. Li was sentenced to one year at the Nanhu Detention Centre in Anhui Province. As Ms. Li refused to renounce her belief in Falun Gong and the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, when her sentence expired, she was arrested again and sent to a brainwashing facility. When Ms. Li still would not renounce her beliefs, she was sent to another brainwashing facility for further brainwashing attempts. Li Mei has now been transferred to a second detention centre in Hefei. -
Sujiatun District Court in Shenyang Tries Ms. Yu Jingzhen
2009-12-18On December 3rd, 2009, Sujiatun District Court in Shenyang City held a trial for Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Jingzhen. Ms. Yu's lawyer Mr. Jin Guanghong made a not-guilty defence. Ms. Yu Jingzhen has practised Falun Gong for thirteen years. On the afternoon of July 28th, 2009, the police from Donggou Town Police Station arrested her when she was distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution, and detained her at Shenyang City Detention Centre. Lawyer Jin Guanghong delivered a good defence for his client. He pointed out that distributing Falun Gong materials doesn't violate any law, nor does it interfere with law enforcement. It is the citizen's right of freedom of speech, as protected by the constitution. -
Arrested 13 Times, Mr. Jiang Guobo Now in Critical Condition
2009-12-17Mr. Jiang Guobo was arrested at his temporary place of work on the morning of February 27th, 2009. Police officers covered his head with a black bag and manhandled him into the police car. He has been held at the Changle Detention Centre ever since. During the months since his most recent detention, Mr. Jiang has been subjected to inhuman tortures without letup. During the cold winter nights, he was forced to stand outside all night long wearing only thin clothes until he lost consciousness due to hypothermia. He has been chained to the "death bed" with both feet and hands shackled until he vomited blood and his life was in grave danger. -
Mr. Lu Xinliang from Weifang Given a Nine-Year Prison Sentence, His Wife Brutally Beaten
2009-12-17Judge Han Shilin of the Weicheng District Court in Weifang City, Shandong Province sentenced Mr. Lu Xinliang to nine years in prison after a closed door trial on October 19th, 2009. Mr. Lu had been held at the Weifang Detention Centre for 15 months before the trial. Police officer Zhang Lei from the Weifang Railway Station kicked and punched Mr. Lu's wife when she went to the police station to ask for her husband's release. -
Ms. Gao Yuxiang Arrested Again; Her Distraught Mother Dies
2009-12-17Ms. Gao Yuxiang was subjected to two years of forced labour. After she was released, in order to avoid further harassment from the police, she left her hometown for years. On October 28th, 2009, she was again arrested by the police. Ms. Gao had been on a hunger strike at the Nanshan Detention Centre for over 19 days. She suffered from brutal force-feedings and one of her arms was injured due to being beaten. Currently, she is very weak. Her 76-year-old mother, who lived with her, was threatened by police officers and witnessed her daughter's arrest. She fell sick and passed away on November 8th, 2009. -
Mr. Wu Tonglin Sent to Jiutai Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province Four Times
2009-12-17Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Tonglin, 54, was arrested and taken to Jiutai Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp in March 2009. He has been on a hunger strike for four months and is now very weak. It is the fifth time that he has been incarcerated in a forced labour camp, and the fourth time to be detained in Jiutai Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp. -
Li Guihua from Jiujiang City Persecuted Again for Her Beliefs
2009-12-16On November 29th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Guihua was arrested by police. The 60-year-old lady was exposing the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in front of the First Middle School of Jiujiang City. At around 5 p.m., a gang of policemen broke in and ransacked her house. Among the officers was a young, but fierce, officer who was physically rough with Ms. Li's husband. Ms. Li Guihua has been arrested, imprisoned and sentenced to imprisonment in labour camps several times where she has suffered brutal persecution. -
Ms. Jiang Nan Abused in Mental Hospital in Sichuan Province
2009-12-16Ms. Jiang Nan was arrested on August 7th, 2009, while she was distributing materials about Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. She was taken to the Deyang City Mental Health Centre, where she was forced to take large doses of unknown drugs for almost four months. In 2008, her husband divorced Ms. Jiang after discovering that she had spoken out for justice for Falun Gong to a fellow teacher. She suffered an emotional breakdown and was suspended from her job and was told to stay home and have her illness treated. -
Teachers and Students Show Their Support for the Imprisoned Ms. Jiang Xibo
2009-12-16Officers from the Jiansanjiang Qianjin Farm Police Station arrested Ms. Jiang Xibo, a teacher and Falun Gong practitioner, on September 10th, 2009. Many teachers and students at the high school where Ms. Jiang worked signed petitions calling for her release, indicating that, due to Ms. Jiang's practice of Falun Gong, she had changed significantly for the better. Ms. Jiang was taken to the Jiansanjiang Detention Centre. She was beaten severely on September 16th, and was handcuffed and fettered. Her situation looked very bleak. On November 2nd, her file was sent to the Jiansanjiang Prosecutor's Office. This is her third arrest to date. It is expected that she will be sentenced in the Qianjin Farm Court.
