Fuping County, Hebei Province Police Persecute 67-Year-old Ms. Fan Zhen

Ms. Fan Zhen has been repeatedly arrested for practising Falun Gong. In 2002, Ms. Fan was sent to a detention centre. She went on a hunger strike for nearly 20 days, then was force-fed by guards. Whenever she was force-fed, several detention centre officials and inmates dragged her to the edge of her bed, then two people held her legs, two held her arms and one held her head. Then, they sealed her mouth, while inserting a thick tube into her nose and down her throat. Unknown substances were forced down her throat. After they were finished, they pulled out the tube, which caused bleeding and severe pain. Ms. Fan continues to experience health complications due to the force-feeding.

The Persecution of County Government Official Mr. Li Qingben

police and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Qingben, 50, off the street on April 7th, 2008. They detained Mr. Li at the Chenquan Police Station and eventually transferred him to the Gansu First Forced Labour Camp after thirty-six days of detention. Guards forced Mr. Li to hold many difficult postures as a form of physical abuse, including "generate power," and "scorpion climbs a wall." When Mr. Li refused to co-operate, criminal He Yingpu kicked him in the chest. Mr. Li felt a shortness of breath and almost lost consciousness. He was released on September 29th, 2009.

Hewan Forced Labour Camp Forces Practitioners to Do Slave Labour

Over the last decade, guards and prisoners at Hewan Forced Labour Camp in Wuhan have committed thousands of evil deeds to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They force practitioners to do slave labour, beat them, and constantly monitor them. In April 2009, guard Zhang Hao and others beat, kicked, and used electric batons to shock practitioner Mr. Yang Chengtao because he refused to do the slave labour. As a result, Yang became incontinent.

66-Year-Old Ms. Tan Jinhui Permanently Disabled Due to Persecution

Tan Jinhui is sixty-six years old, from Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. She has been arrested and imprisoned numerous times because she practises Falun Gong. The resulting torture has rendered her physically disabled and unable to take care of herself. In the winter of 2000, Ms. Tan was handing out Falun Gong materials which exposed the persecution when two officers arrested her. In the police station, officer Wang Changjun grabbed her hair and submerged her head in a barrel of water many times, then Jiao Zhongjun began slapping her face. They called Jiang Tianxing from the National Security Bureau, and when he arrived, he began beating Ms. Tan with an iron bar, continuing until the iron bar broke. Her face and nose were severely swollen.

Husband and Wife Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison, Their Children Suffering

Zhang Zhaolin and Zhang Liyun are a couple from Fuyang City, Anhui Province. Because of their belief in Falun Gong, they were persecuted continuously and fled their home. On October 25th, 2008, when they were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong on the streets of Jinhua City, someone reported them to the local police, and they were arrested and detained. In July 2009, the Wucheng District Court in Jinhua City sentenced the couple to prison, one for seven years and six months and the other to seven years. They are currently detained in the Zhejiang Province No. 2 Prison and Women's Prison, respectively.

Ms. Liu Hefang Persecuted at the Chongqing Shimahe Women's Forced Labour Camp

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Hefang has been detained and persecuted at the Shimahe Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jiangbei District since September 18th, 2009. During the last two months Ms. Liu started a hunger strike in protest of the persecution. She was brutally force-fed many times by the police, causing the food they forced down into her stomach to burst out from her mouth. Ms. Liu is still being held in the small cell. Her body is very weak due to long-term abuse. She needs others to hold her when she uses the toilet, and she cannot manage her daily life.

Officials from the Nanjing 610 Office Arrested Four Elderly Practitioners

On November 3rd, 2009, the head of the Nanjing 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), and police arrested four Falun Gong practitioners who are in their 60s and 70s. The officers also ransacked the practitioners' homes, searched their clothes, and confiscated money from their pockets. Ms. Xie and Ms. Xiong were detained at a brainwashing centre where police officers are known to brutally persecute practitioners with no regard for their age or health.

The Persecution of Shao Changhua and Zhang Guilan from Dandong City, Liaoning Province

Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Shao Changhua and Ms. Zhang Guilan were arrested in 2004. They were detained at the Dandong Police Station and Shenyang City Women's Prison in Liaoning Province. They both suffered from brutal persecution, and Ms. Shao Changhua was subjected to sleep deprivation for over 20 days. In December 2005, police locked Shao Changhua into a room on the third floor. Prisoners forcibly took off her clothes, covered up her mouth and started to brutally beat her. She suffered multiple broken ribs as a result of the brutal beating.

Lin Guizhi's Life in Danger after Five Years of Imprisonment

Falun Gong practitioner Lin Guizhi has been detained and persecuted at the Shenyang Women's Prison for over 5 years. Her family members went to see her in the prison recently and found that she was very weak. She fainted right in front of them. She suffered from a blood clot in her brain and lost consciousness 6 or 7 times a day. In November 2008, prison officials notified her family that Ms. Lin was in serious condition yet they still refused to release her. Team leader Zhang Lei said, "If she doesn't give up her belief in Falun Gong or write a guarantee statement to give it up, she will not be released on bail for medical treatment even if she dies in prison." Currently the prison is trying to "transform" Ms. Lin with coercion and are refusing to release her.

After Six Months of Detention and Torture, Family Fails to Recognise 60-Year-Old Mr. Yin Xunzhen

Since April 20th, 2009, Mr. Yin Xunzhen, 60, has endured all kinds of inhumane torture during his 6-month detention. Mr. Yin's health has deteriorated greatly during his detention. His hair turned grey, and his face became pinched. He shook whenever he moved and his speech became very faint and weak. Mr. Yin became disoriented and also became very thin. His family did not recognise him when they visited him in the detention centre. Mr. Yin is now in grave physical condition and suffering tremendously.

A Kind Peasant, Ms. Liu Yanqin, 54, Brutally Tortured

Fifty-four-year-old Ms. Liu Yanqin lives in Fushun City area, Liaoning Province. Because of her firm belief in Falun Gong, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials frequently harassed her. They arrested her and sentenced her to forced labour several times. Ms. Liu Yanqin was brutally tortured while imprisoned. In July 2008, police officers arrested Ms. Liu Yanqin under the pretext of security for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. They tortured her brutally by means of forcing her to sit on a "tiger bench," force-feeding her with wine, inserting lit cigarettes into her nostril, and hanging her up to beat her. After they tortured her for two days and one night, Ms. Liu Yanqin's hands were disabled. She is now detained in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp.

Mr. Li Zhenxing and His Family Repeatedly Persecuted in Hebei Province

Prior to the Olympic Games last year, officials from Hebei Province arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Zhenxing. They also ransacked his home and personal property. Mr. Li was detained in the Xiantai Police Station and later transferred to the Mancheng County Detention Centre. He was subjected to one year and three months of forced labour. He was brutally beaten and shocked with four electric batons, and handcuffed to water pipes for seven days and nights.

Ms. Yang Manye Arrested Repeatedly in Putuo District, Shanghai

Ms. Yang Manye is from Shanghai. On October 22nd, 2009, people from the Putuo Domestic Security Division and 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) deceived Ms. Yang, saying that they needed to talk to her. In fact, they arrested and took her to a brainwashing centre. So far, her family has not received any written notification about her arrest. This is the fourth time she has been arrested for practising Falun Gong. In 2001 Ms. Yang was jailed in the Songjiang Women's Prison in Shanghai and the authorities extended her term by nine months. When she was in prison, she was forced to do physical work for long hours. Because of this she was very weak and fell.

A Couple from Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia Arrested

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Pi Changfu and his wife were arrested on October 31st, 2009, by more than 20 police officers. The police ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Gong books and valuable items. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Pi and his wife have often been harassed. Mr. Pi was held at a detention centre for 7 days on one occasion and was forced to pay 10,000 yuan for bail. He left home and became homeless in June 2007 for over six months.

Miscarriage of Justice - Mr. Ge Kun Received 9 Year Sentence

Practitioner Mr. Ge Kun was forced out of school, arrested, and detained for one year and three months. Finally, on September 18th, 2009, Mr. Ge was "tried" by the court of Hanting District in Weifang City. The court imposed a most severe nine year prison sentence on Mr. Ge who is just in his 20s. The prime of his life has been snatched by a vicious Chinese Communist Party (CCP) system. In July 2008 at Weifang Detention Centre, Mr. Ge Kun was tied to a "cross" formed from steel pipes. His arms were out-stretched and legs bound tightly using leather belts. Mr. Ge was left to endure such extremely painful circumstances for six days, during which he lost consciousness many times.
