Police Chief Breaks into a Family's Home and Arrests a Female Farmer

On July 26th, 2007, a group of policemen broke in to Ms. Zheng Baozhen's home, ransacked it and arrested Ms. Zheng leaving her daughters terrified and all alone that night. The jail's inhumane living conditions caused Ms. Zheng to become ill and pass out. Ms. Zheng, being dangerously ill from the persecution, did not eat anything for a few days in protest. On the fifth day, the police violently force-fed her, adding unknown drugs into the mixture, which caused her to pass out several times. Because she was so ill the police released her. Ms. Zheng was unable to take care of herself.

Ms. Li Yinju Dies in China's Liaoning Province

In July 2006, Ms. Li Yinju, 56, was arrested on the street while she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling elementary school students the facts about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour in the Shibalihe Women's Labour Camp in Henan Province. The guards tried to force her to give up her faith, conducted long-term brainwashing sessions by not allowing her to sleep, beating her, and locking her in a small cell. She died at home in the early morning on December 18th, 2008.

Woman in China's Countryside Persecuted Repeatedly Since Learning Falun Gong in a Detention Centre Several Years Ago

Because Ms. Xin Xiaoping follows the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she was arrested and detained by the county 610 Office in December 2005. Her home was searched. Since June 2006, she was forced to be homeless in order to avoid arrest. On October 15th, 2008, Ms. Xin was followed by police and arrested and sent to the Linli County Detention Centre. She has now been detained for more than three months.

72-year-old Practitioner Ms. Wang Lianzhi Is Imprisoned

Ms. Wang Lianzhi, a 72-year-old practitioner from Kunming City, Yunnan Province, was arrested in April 2008. At the end of November, the prison administration suddenly informed Ms. Wang's son that she had developed mental illness, but denied her son any visitation. Ms. Wang's son was shocked because not ten days earlier his mother's mental health was normal. How could this have happened? He asked who had made the diagnosis. They told him it was the city mental hospital. The son then asked to read the diagnosis. Because the whole thing was so suspicious. Ms. Wang's situation is still unclear and her family very worried about her.

Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Zongquan from Tangshan City Put on Trial

On July 10th, 2008, 48-year-old Mr. Zhang Zongquan's home was raided by more than 10 policemen and was arrested and taken to the Fengrun Detention Centre. When he was held in the detention centre, Mr. Zhang's family members sought advice from two lawyers. The lawyer was not allowed to see Mr. Zhang until December 8th. On December 10th, Mr. Zhang was brought to the court. Mr. Zhang defended himself without a lawyer. The trial lasted only thirty minutes and ended without a conclusion. The family members were filled with indignation at the end of the trial.

The Persecution of Ms. Wang Jie and Ms. Cai Shaojie in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province

In October 2002, Ms. Wang Jie and Ms. Cai Shaojie were arrested in Tieling City in Liaoning Province. While being detained at the police station, Ms. Wang Jie was tortured to the point of near-death, then taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment. After police officers interrogated Ms. Cai, they hung her up by her arms and beat her with electric batons. Afterwards, she was unable to use her left hand for several months and found it difficult to take care of herself. Ms. Cai was sentenced in 2003 to seven years of imprisonment. The two women were brutally tortured in the Liaoning Province Prison and came close to losing their life on at least one occasion.

Crimes Committed in the Zaozihe Forced Labour Camp in Shaanxi Province

The "transformation class" in Zaozihe Forced Labour Camp is a brainwashing class, and its chair Yang Jun, is the general chief for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in the camp. Under his guidance, guards mentally torture practitioners who refuse to recant their beliefs. Practitioners are forced to stand all night long. They are deprived of the right to sleep, hung up with rope tied through handcuffs,and locked up in small cells. The guards cruelly beat practitioners, and even soak them in a big water vat to freeze them in the winter. The guards also arrange prisoners convicted on drug charges to beat practitioners after covering their heads with cotton blankets.

Ms. Qi Jinling Persecuted at Wanjia and Qianjin Forced Labour Camps

Despite the pressure of the persecution, Ms. Qi Jinling, 43 firmly practises Falun Gong and follows the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. She was captured by the police in August 2006 and sent to a forced labour camp and suffered brutal persecution for over two years. In November 2006, guards ordered Ms. Qi to come to the office. They beat her on the head and back, swearing at her all the while. Then the guards tied her hands behind her back and ordered her to squat with her legs pressed together. Ms. Qi refused to comply. Guards beat her again and pushed her to the floor. After midnight, Sha Yujin grabbed her by the hair and dragged her around on the floor, twisting her around. Ms. Qi's hair was left all over the floor.

Taoxu Town Police Arrest, Mistreat and Extort Money from Practitioners

In order to have a larger year-end bonus, the Taoxu Town Police harassed practitioners, searched their homes, tortured them and extorted money from their families. From December 29th, 2008 to January 1st, 2009, eleven practitioners were arrested and harassed by the police in those four days. On December 29th, 2008, several policemen went to search the home of Falun Gong practitioner Guo Zengshun in Ankou Village, Taoxu Town. They arrested him and confiscated his Falun Gong book, Zhuan Falun. The police extorted the family for 6,000 yuan in exchange for Guo Zengshun's release. Two days later, Guo Zengshun was allowed to go home on December 30th, 2008.

Ms. Zhang Jiaoyu's Family Broken Up by Persecution

On July 6th, 2008, three practitioners, Ms. Zhang Jiaoyu, Ms. Tang Yuhua, and Ms. Huang Aiyu were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in the county capital when they were arrested by police and held in a detention centre. Ms. Zhang suffered a heart attack in the detention centre and was taken to the hospital. She was in critical condition and received emergency treatment. The police didn't want to take responsibility for her condition and left without paying any of her medical costs. Ms. Zhang's family brought her home to recuperate. However, the county 610 Office did not stop the persecution against Ms. Zhang and her family.

Li Fuguo male, 40 years old, has personally taken part in the arrest of 13 Falun Gong practitioners from Tanghai County. He has done so ever since he became the Tanghai County Domestic Security Division Head and 610 Office head in November 2006. One of the practitioners has died as a result of torture. Another one has become disabled from torture. Five practitioners were given jail terms. The persecution for the past two years have been the most severe for Falun Gong practitioners in Tanghai County since the Chinese Communist Party started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999.

Corrupt Police Officers in Chongqing Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners

Pan Ronghan used to be the Jiuchi Town registrar but was demoted because of embezzlement and now works in the Security Office. In July 2003, after seeing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution in the Jiuchichang Town, he casually arrested four practitioners, two brothers and their wives, and held them in Zhoujiaba Detention Centre for more than a year. While incarcerated there, the practitioners were tortured. To produce false evidence to substantiate his case, he tried buying witnesses for 50 yuan a person but was unsuccessful.

My Experience at the Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp

On June 26th, 2008, I was transferred from an addiction treatment centre in Sichuan Province to the No. 7 Section of the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp. Three days after I arrived, I was forced to perform slave labour. Whenever we entered or left the workshop's main door, we were required to report to the guards, otherwise we were not allowed to use the toilet. Since I did not report for two days, I had to wait until 11:00 p.m. to use the toilet. Shortly after this incident, the guards required all practitioners who were not "transformed" to work in their cell for about 15 hours a day, rather than the workshop.

Three Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution

Mr. Xue Junli, 46, lived in Sanqiao Town, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. Because he practised Falun Gong, he was detained four times, sent to one year of forced labour, and brutally beaten by guard Feng Xiyao with a rubber baton. The prisoners cruelly beat him as well. He was taken to forced brainwashing sessions three times. The last time he was taken to a brainwashing session, he was tortured until he was very weak, and he died in July 2008.

Exposing the Brutal Treatment of Falun Gong Practitioners at the Fujian Provincial Women's Prison

The Prison Orientation Team is the first station set up to persecute practitioners upon their arrival. One or two guards chosen from each large group take turns to brainwash practitioners, forcing them to watch videos that slander Falun Gong. The jail is crowded, and the prisoners are forced to stand. Sleep deprivation and other means are utilized in the brainwashing sessions, where the perpetrators try to force practitioners to write "guarantee statements" to give up Falun Gong. Guards force practitioners to recite the prison regulations, perform exercises, and run in drill formation. Practitioners who refuse to wear a prison uniform are stripped by prison inmates who have been incited to do so by guards.
