Prior to Hu Jintao's Visit to Canada, Media Reports On the Persecution of Falun Gong

CFCN, a local TV station in Calgary, reported, "Falun Gong practitioners and supporters in Calgary held a live re-enactment Sunday, of torture methods they say are used in China against citizens who practise the 'art.'" The report said that protesters wanted to highlight human rights abuses before the Chinese President Hu Jintao arrives. -

On August 20th, 2005, Mr. Yang Huaiyong, who lives in Village No. 1 of the family living quarters of Xi'an Jiaotong University, was talked into opening his door by a group of police officers and plainclothes policemen. The police swarmed in to arrest him illegally. Some officers wrested his single arm (Mr. Yang has only one arm) while others lifted his legs and they carried him to their police car. The police officers were afraid that Yang Huaiyong would alert the neighbours about his unlawful arrest, so they gagged him with a towel and left in a hurry. -

2005-09-10At 5:00 p.m. on June 24th, I heard a boy's voice as I approached a T-intersection: "Don't throw watermelon rind on the road. People will fall if they step on it." He then picked up the watermelon rind and carefully put it into a small pit on the roadside. I walked closer and found that I knew him. He is a young practitioner whom I met before, and he is only five years old. His parents both practise Falun Gong. He was playing with three other youngsters, and one of them threw the watermelon rind on the road when they finished eating it. The glory of Falun Gong's "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" radiated from the young practitioner. -

2005-09-08He instructed the officials and police officers in the township to harass the practitioners and monitor them, to confiscate practitioners' books and burn them, to force every practitioner in the township to give up his/her belief in "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance," and to force the practitioners to curse Falun Dafa and its founder and write pledges to denounce their belief. Whoever did not write the pledge would be tortured even more severely. Soon, Banfu developed lung cancer. After spending over three hundred yuan on medical treatments, he still could not cure his illness, and finally died in August 2005 at the age of fifty-one. -
My Experience of Using the Internet to let more People know the Facts
2005-09-07I told a woman a couple of years older than me the facts about Falun Gong. She asked if I could call her. I agreed, but quite often when I called her, she was in a meeting. I learnt that she actually was a high-ranking Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official. I asked her, "You are a Party member, but you did not know about this?" She asked me eagerly. "What is it? Please tell me." After she found the truth, she was shocked and unable to accept what I told her. Through further contact and reading the Nine Commentaries, she asked me to help her entire family withdraw from the CCP. -
My Experience of Getting Rid of Fear While Exposing the Persecution
2005-09-07When I prepared to go out to let more people know the facts, my heart started pounding even before I stepped out the door. When I walked towards people, my heart pounded heavily and I just said to people, "Remember that 'Falun Dafa is good' and 'Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is good!'" I then gave people a pamphlet about the persecution and the pracitce and walked away in a hurry. I would hide if I saw the same person again. After several days of practising, my fear lessened. A few more days later and my fear had diminished some more. -

2005-09-05Learning these exercises truly changed my life from that day on. Another amazing thing happened to me; at that time I was also a smoker. I had been smoking for some 20 plus years. However, after just learning and doing these simple exercises that first morning, I have never had a cigarette since. In fact I very rarely ever even thought about smoking after that morning. I had tried everything before to quit, I mean everything, from patches, to hypnosis, chewing gum, cold turkey, acupuncture, you name it. But I still could not maintain the willpower to quit. 2005-09-05It was difficult to see everything clearly, so the banner was not hung properly. The next day, I passed by, thinking of taking the banner down to re-hang it properly. The bystander asked, "What's on the banner?" I replied, " It says, 'Bring Jiang to justice!'" Surprisingly, the bystander replied, "Excellent idea! A Westerner's Journey to Falun Gong
2005-09-04I had a quarrelsome heart while reading the book, instead of seeking understanding. Little did I know at the time, that Falun Dafa was not something that can be understood from an everyday viewpoint as it was an everyday viewpoint that brought me so much difficulty and limitation. For example, those who seek wealth and comfort are often plagued by worry about their ability to maintain their security. Those seeking fame are anxious of what others think of them. However, I felt something very special about the content of Zhuan Falun so I continued to read.
