Celebrating Ten Years since Falun Gong’s introduction to Sweden (1)

On the 16th of April 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from in and around Gothenburg gathered at the busy Baltesspannar Park in brilliant sunshine. They demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, distributed leaflets and presented the public with paper lotus flowers to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Falun Gong’s introduction to Sweden. -
Jiang Renzheng's Situation Arouses Concern from Amnesty International’s Berlin Branch

A branch of Amnesty International located in Berlin recently reported Jiang Renzheng’s situation to the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Amnesty International also revealed to Falun Gong practitioners that the German Embassy in Beijing has already expressed concern about this case to the Chinese Government. Deported back to China by the German Government with wife Guo Rui and their two children on 7th March, Jiang Renzheng was sentenced to three years in a forced labour camp a week ago for “having contacts with Falun Gong organisations and damaging social order”. -
Finland: Falun Gong was Very Popular at the Mikkeli Health Exhibition

A few practitioners in golden exercise suits performed the exercises to the graceful Falun Gong music and this attracted the attention of many people. They watched for a long time, asked for leaflets and even took extra leaflets for their relatives and friends. Some people bought books and exercise demonstration video tapes from the Falun Gong stall. -

Turkey: The Turkish Falun Gong Association is Officially Established

Turkish Falun Gong practitioners received a formal notice on the 10th of April that the Turkish Falun Gong Association has been officially established. This is the second Falun Gong Association to be established in Eastern Europe this year, after the Polish Falun Gong Association was officially formed in February. The founding of the Falun Gong Association illustrates Turkey’s recognition and welcome of Falun Gong. -
Italy: Anti-Torture Exhibition in Aosta City Receives People's Warm Support

On the streets in the town centre, we set up our display boards and held an anti-torture exhibition. Local people taking a walk at the weekend and tourists all stopped to watch the re-enactments of the torture methods employed by the Chinese Communist Party in attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs. -
Germany: Activities in Chamer to Raise Awareness of the Persecution

Russia: Anti-torture Exhibition at the Chinese Embassy to Call for an End to the Persecution

Practitioners from Moscow and other areas of Russia gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy. A series of information boards were put on display to exhibit the various forms of torture that the communist regime uses in cruel attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs. They demanded that the persecution be stopped and the prime culprits be brought to justice. -
Sweden: Famous Swedish Diplomat Encourages Practitioners to “Keep Up the Good Work!”

A group of Falun Gong practitioners attended a lecture held by Jan Eliasson in Gothenburg. Jan Eliasson is the former Swedish Ambassador in Washington and later this year he will take over as president of the United Nations General Council. In the past, he worked as a UN Ambassador, as well as a Cabinet Secretary at the Swedish Foreign Ministry. -
"Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group" Submits Cases of Missing Falun Gong Practitioners to United Nations in Geneva

The Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group submitted a case report on the abduction of Huang Xiong to Mr. Stephen Toope, Chairman of the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances during the annual meeting of the U.N.H.R.C. in Geneva. He was surprised to know that Mr. Huang was abducted more than a year ago and said he would take action right away. -
Czech Republic: Anti-torture Exhibit Receives Public Support and Media Attention in Brno

On Friday the 8th of April, the peaceful sounds of Falun Dafa music spread through the Brno streets of Novobranska and Josefska. Practitioners from all over the Czech Republic, supported by a group of practitioners from England, gathered in Brno to tell the local people about the Chinese Communist Party‘s campaign of genocide against Falun Gong in China. -
German Practitioners Write to the Premier Calling for the Rescue of Jiang Renzheng and his Family

The German Falun Gong Information Centre disclosed that practitioners are now actively informing the German authorities, politicians, media and human rights organisation about the situation of Jiang’s family. They are appealing to the German Government to rescue the family and they want to help the public understand the situation under the Communist Party’s rule. -
Ireland: Falun Gong Exercise Demonstration and Cultural Performances at a Mind, Body & Spirit Exhibition

Many people bought the English version of the introductory text Falun Gong and the main book Zhuan Falun, as well as exercise demonstration tapes and DVDs. Ukraine: Journey of Compassion Painting Exhibition held in Konstantinovka

Practitioners in Ukraine recently staged a painting exhibition entitled the Journey of Compassion in Konstantinoyka City. Through watching the painting exhibition, many people felt angry after finding out about the cruel torture against Falun Gong practitioners initiated by the Chinese Communist Party. People signed their names on the petition form to support Falun Gong practitioners. -
National Dutch TV Station Broadcasts the Truth about the Staged Immolation

On the 14th March, a Dutch national TV Station broadcast a programme about Falun Gong which was produced by “Network”. It was arranged to be broadcast during the “Current Affairs Review” programme. Network positively commented on Falun Gong’s first appearance in China, its popularity, the large number of practitioners and the persecution. After its introduction to the public in 1992, Falun Gong was immediately very popular all over the country and attracted almost seventy million practitioners, outnumbering the membership of the Chinese Communist Party. Therefore, the CCP saw it as a big threat. They banned Falun Gong in 1999.
