  • Bulgaria: Libraries in the City of Sofia got 139 Copies of “Falun Gong”

    Bulgarian practitioners gave 139 copies of the introductory book Falun Gong in Bulgarian language to the Central Library in Sofia. The library will distribute the books to 121 community centre libraries in the capital city of Bulgaria, as well as in 18 libraries in the surrounding district.
  • NTDTV Launches Legal Action Against the Eutelsat Satellite Company for cancelling their China Broadcast Contract

    The Epoch Times reported on March 16th that media lobbyists and European Union MEPs supported the independent station New Tang Dynasty TV in launching legal action against the Eutelsat satellite company, because Eutelsat was going to stop broadcasting NTDTV programmes to China. The International Journalists Union said Eutelsat has bowed to pressure from Beijing and was going to refuse the renewal of the contract to broadcast NTDTV’s programmes to China.
  • Sweden: Photo Report - A Weekend of Studying the Fa and Practising the Exercises Together

    Falun Gong practitioners in Sweden gathered in Gothenburg and spent a pleasant weekend together. They practised the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and studied the teachings of Falun Dafa. They shared their understandings of cultivating their hearts and minds through practising Falun Dafa and also talked about the efforts they have been making to expose and end the persecution.
  • Statement by International Educational Development (IED) to the UN Commission on Human Rights Regarding Human Rights in China

    "IED urges all States to take far more decisive action to protect Falun Gong practitioners in their own countries from direct or indirect persecution and to stop the intimidation by Chinese authorities or their agents of Falun Gong practitioners, media outlets, commercial enterprises, schools and universities or any another facility. Diplomats who participate should be required to leave their posts. States should make all aspects of their bi-lateral relationships with China contingent on stopping the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and on an over-all significant improvement in human rights."
  • Denmark: Promoting Falun Gong at the Aarhus Health Expo

    Practitioners from Denmark went to Aarhus to take part in the expo and help people learn more about Falun Gong. This was the third time that practitioners have joined this expo. They prepared materials in Danish, English and Chinese, such as leaflets and video-CDs. They were surprised by the keen interest of the public, as many people came to find out more about Falun Gong.

    I was lucky to find Falun Gong. Within a month of learning the exercises, my condition began to improve. I felt that my uncomfortable body recovered a little after every practice session. The effect was even better each time I could follow Falun Gong’s principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance through handling conflicts with others well.

    London Falun Gong practitioners went to Wood Green, a busy area in north London, and held an activity outside Wood Green Library, during which a middle aged Chinese couple passed the site. They carefully looked at our posters and anti-torture pictures, and some leaflets and video-CDs before holding a very long conversation with me.
  • Danish Newspaper Exposes the Persecution against Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    When Jiang began the persecution in 1999, he expected Falun Gong to be eliminated in three months. However, Falun Gong practitioners would rather be tortured to death than let go of their faith. Some were frightened into practising and reading Li Hongzhi’s scriptures at home. But some were brave enough to begin the tough fight uphill against the propaganda machine. Slowly, Falun Gong regained its reputation. In certain places far from the capital, the exercises were practiced openly, but in the capital Beijing and in the Northeast of China the oppression is still ruthless.

    On Saturday 12th March, UK practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in Liverpool. The event, which took place in the busiest part of the city centre, attracted a great deal of attention, drawing people away from their shopping to find out more about the persecution against the peaceful meditative practice Falun Gong in China.

    It was snowing gently while practitioners demonstrated the exercises of Falun Gong on an ice stage. Many flyers were given out and people condemned the persecution openly. Many people were already aware of the injustice and brutality that Falun Gong practitioners have faced for the last six years. One lady said that she knows that this practice is good for people but still forbidden in China.

    Since July, 1999, Jiang Zemin has used the Chinese Communist Party to stage a campaign of genocide against Falun Gong. This unprecedented persecution has lasted for over five years and caused the deaths of at least 1,482 innocent Falun Gong practitioners. In addition, over 100 million practitioners, along with their families and friends, have experienced violations of human rights.Meanwhile, Jiang Zemin’s faction has extended the persecution to overseas countries, doing substantial harm to Falun Gong practitioners outside of Mainland China, as well as Chinese citizens. To stop the evil persecution and to safeguard human rights and justice, Falun Gong practitioners from Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, and Africa, together with human rights organisations and human rights lawyers, have filed lawsuits against Jiang and his accomplices.   • Russia: Falun Gong Practitioners Brave the Cold Weather to Expose the Persecution to the People of Moscow

    On Saturday the 12th of March, Moscow Falun Gong practitioners again went to the city centre despite the cold, snow and windy weather. They demanded that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) stop the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners immediately and they exposed the CCP’s heinous crimes to the people of Moscow.
  • Report from German Newspaper Badener Tagblatt entitled “Protesting Against Torture”

    “Hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been taken to forced labour camps and many have been tortured to death”, reported one Falun Gong practitioner from Ettlingen. The practitioner further stated that it was not easy to explain why this is being done because the movement is not political and has about 100 million practitioners in sixty countries around the world. “We assume that the Chinese Communist Party became jealous and afraid of the great popularity of Falun Gong.” In Baden-Baden, signatures were collected to petition for an end to the brutal torture.

    On March 5, Falun Gong practitioners were invited to an evening charity event held in the southern Moravia town of Mikulcice to tell people the truth about the ongoing brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China. Dozens of people expressed their gratitude to us for coming to the event and helping them learn about the persecution.
