  • Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners Mentioned on UK TV Show Special Broadcast from Shanghai

    Question Time is the premier political debating programme broadcast on the UK’s BBC One TV station. On Thursday 10th March, the programme did a special broadcast live from Shanghai in China. One Chinese man asked the question, “Do you endorse the description of the human rights situation in China made by the most recent U.S. annual human rights report.” The first speaker to address this issue was Isabel Hilton, who quickly agreed with the U.S. report, telling the Shanghai audience and millions of viewers that “there have been many deaths in custody of Falun Gong practitioners.” Ms. Hilton went on to list other human rights abuses happening in China and pointed out that it is not only the U. S. State Department that is critical of China’s human rights.
  • Germany: Participating in the Vietnamese New Year Festival in Bremen

    Vietnamese residents celebrated the New Year together in Bremen. Every year for fifteen years, Bremen’s Vietnamese community has come together for this event, which offers elaborate stage performances and tasty Vietnamese delicacies. This year, north German Falun Gong practitioners were asked to participate in the activities.
  • Zhuan Falun is Officially Published in Slovakian

    The main book of Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun, was published in Slovak language this month. Zhuan Falun was a best-seller in Beijing, China during 1996, and not without reason. The core text of Falun Dafa practice is no ordinary book. Its contents and teachings have done nothing short of redefining qigong and cultivation practice. Moreover, the book nurtured Falun Dafa from a practice done by 200 thousand people in China to one taken up by over 100 million around the world
  • The European Union Resolution expressed Extreme Concern about Human Rights Violations in China

    The recent European Union resolution expressed that in the 61st UN Human Rights Conference, which is going to be held in Geneva, the EU will express her extreme concern about human rights violations in China. In the resolution, the Chinese Government’s arbitrary arrest and persecution of Tibet, Xinjiang, Falun Gong and people with different political opinions, are being strongly condemned. The resolution urges the Chinese Government to immediately and unconditionally free prisoners of conscience and people who hold different political opinions; to respect human being’s rights of thinking, conscience and religious belief.
  • UKFGIC: MP helps Falun Gong Practitioners “Rescue our Family members” with London Press Conference and Petitions

    John Robinson MP, the Labour representative of Glasgow, Anniesland will be speaking at a press conference at College Green outside the House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA at 5pm on Wednesday 9th March 2005. Following the press conference he will be handing in “Rescue our Families” petition forms with signatures totalling about 15,000 to an evening parliamentary session in the House of Commons. John Robinson’s constituent Mrs YuYu Williamson, a Falun Gong practitioner and local Anniesland resident, collected the petition forms from across the UK so that the MP could hand them in to the House of Commons on her behalf.
  • German Newspaper reports on a Musician who Sings about the Persecution Against Falun Gong

    Hackmayer and his friends, fellow Falun Gong practitioners who meet for group practice in the Baden area, thought it was only natural to take steps to raise awareness about the human rights violations in China. He thought it would make sense for him to use his talents: ballads, songs and communally produced CDs...“I am taking a stand for human rights. If there is anything I can do, I am happy to do it.” Currently, he is celebrating his next CD with some of his fellow musicians. It is scheduled to appear in the summer.
  • Slovakia: The People of Hlohovec give a Warm Welcome to Falun Gong

    On Saturday the 5th of March, practitioners of Falun Gong visited Hlohovec, a medium-sized city in western Slovakia. They told people about the benefits they have received from practising Falun Gong, as well as the brutal persecution that is happening in China and has already taken the lives of over 1,400 people. People greeted the practitioners with a warm and friendly welcome. Many people stopped to sign the petition and show their disdain and disapproval of the persecution.
  • Switzerland: Collecting Petition Signatures to Rescue a Practitioner who is Wrongly Imprisoned in China

    The practitioners organized this event at the last minute and did not have much time to prepare their information stall. However, it was enough to have the sincere wish to help fellow practitioners in China, who are under threat of persecution, torture and even death for wanting to practise Falun Gong. The impact of the information stall was very positive and many people came to find out more.
  • German Newspaper Reports on Falun Gong Information Stall in Gifthorn

    "Despite the evening rain, wind and cold weather, Falun Gong practitioners were at their stall on Sunday in Gifthorn’s pedestrian zone. They were there to expose the brutal persecution happening in China, the land that this “cultivation practice” originated from, and to tell people about the suffering of their fellow practitioners in China."
  • Satellite Broadcast of “Sandstorm” Film to Spanish-speaking Countries

    This film was broadcast via the channel “Essence and Vision”, which supports the protection of human rights and has 590 million Spanish-speaking viewers. Through watching the programme, millions of viewers had the chance to learn about the persecution against Falun Gong in China. The producer of the programme, who has also exposed China’s persecution of Tibet, didn’t know that the Chinese Government and Jiang Zemin had employed such cruel torture methods to carry out the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners who believe in “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.” Through talking to practitioners, she realised the severity of the genocide taking place in China.
  • Czech Republic: Brno Activity Exposes the Persecution against Falun Gong

    Many people stopped to read the poster display boards, which detailed the methods of persecution and torture used in cruel attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief. Several thousand leaflets were distributed and many people talked with practitioners and offered messages of support. Around 200 petition signatures were collected calling for an end to the persecution.
  • Finnish TV Reports on the Second Wave of Telephone Propaganda Against Falun Gong Practitioners

    TV channel “Nelonen” extensively reported on the second wave of harassment in its evening news on February 25th. A practitioner from the city of Oulu was interviewed in the report and suggested that the reason for this persecution campaign happening in western countries is that Falun Gong practitioners are exposing the CCP’s crimes against human rights to the world. The interviewee also stated that Falun Gong is a righteous practice encouraging high moral standards and the communist officials fear this due to the endemic corruption in China’s official state organs.
  • France: Introducing Falun Gong at the Primrose Expo in Lyon

    The practitioners introduced Falun Dafa to between fifty and sixty thousand people from Lyon and other neighbouring cities. They also informed them about the abuses of human rights that are happening to people who practise Falun Gong in China, with a large-scale campaign of suppression being enforced by the Chinese Communist Party.
  • United Kingdom: Students and Staff from the University of Glasgow show their Support for Falun Gong Practitioners’ Human Rights

    The student chapter of Amnesty International held a Falun Gong seminar after the anti-torture exhibition. Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and talked about the practice; they told the students about Falun Gong’s popularity in 60 countries, former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin using the Chinese Communist Party’s long history of persecution in his personal vendetta against Falun Gong and the many atrocities and human rights abuses that practitioners have endured over the past six years. They explained that Falun Gong’s guiding principles are Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance and there has never been a single case of practitioners retaliating against their persecutors, even under severe torture.
  • Swedish Newspaper "Skövde News" Reports on Falun Gong at the Skövde Health Expo

    The report mentioned that the health expo gave people a unique kind of feeling and provided different ways to achieve physical and spiritual health. The report also revealed how Falun Gong practitioners from Gothenburg and Lerum demonstrated the exercises on a large stage and talked to the public about the practice.
