Austria: Exposing the Persecution of Falun Dafa to the People of Graz

On August the 21st 2004, Falun Gong practitioners organised an information day in Austria’s second largest city, Graz to let people know more about the Falun Gong situation in China and abroad. They held many activities, including demonstrations of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, poster exhibitions, a petition signature collection and the distribution of a large amount of leaflets. -

Falun Dafa Information Centre Austria: Press Release Regarding Jia Qinglin's Visit to Austria

During this week, Jia Qinglin, the former party secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and former mayor of the city of Beijing, is visiting Austria for two days. He has been a member of the standing committee of the CCP’s Politburo since 2002. During Jia’s administration, Beijing generated one of the worst records among many cities with respect to the persecution of Falun Gong (see examples below). As the Party’s General Secretary in Beijing, and in his capacity as Central Committee member of the CCP from 1999-2002, Jia Qinglin has been responsible for the persecution. -
Radio France Internationale: Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Zhong Suffers Severe Torture in China's Daqing Prison
2004-09-01On the night of August the 29th, Radio France Internationale stated that Clearwisdom.net reported a Falun Gong practitioner’s release from Daqing prison after being tortured until close to death. The Clearwisdom report stated that Zhang Zhong had plastic bags put over his head impeding his breathing, he had garlic juice and chilli sauce poured over his face, he received kicks and punches, jabs on the hands with the tip of a sharp pen, and he was stripped to the waist and freezing or boiling water poured over his body. He suffered other kinds of torture in addition to these. -

The conference this year reflected how practitioners have been tempered to maturity and are able to face the persecution and reveal the facts more and more clearheadly and rationally. -
Ireland: A Warm Welcome for Falun Gong at the Festival of World Cultures in Dun Laoghaire

This weekend, the Festival of World Cultures was held in the seaside town of Dun Laoghaire, which is just on the outskirts of Dublin. The festival celebrates the diversity of cultural life from all corners of the globe. Falun Gong practitioners received a warm welcome invoking the very best of traditional Chinese culture as inspired by the principles of Truthfulness Compassion and Tolerance. -
Germany: Promoting Falun Gong at the Dresden City Festival

Practitioners from Dresden and surrounding areas took part in the annual Dresden City Festival. They were invited to demonstrate the exercises as well as other traditional performances on the stage four times for thirty to forty-five minutes each time. Many people received leaflets and signed petitions to support the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. -

Russia: Introducing Falun Dafa in Downtown Izmailova
2004-08-30When they realised that these were several methods of torture among a hundred which are still being used in China, they felt very indignant and said that they would like to support Falun Gong practitioners. One Chinese person joined the protest and lifted up a banner against the persecution. When his friend passed and asked him why stood with the Falun Gong team, he answered loudly, “You see 1027 people have been persecuted to death. Can I still keep silent? I want to protest!” -
Germany: Dafa Practitioners Introduce Falun Dafa at Dresden City Festival (I)

The annual Dresden City Festival in Germany was held from August the 20th to August the 22nd. Tens of thousands of people went on to the streets to watch a variety of performances. German Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in this event and perform Falun Gong exercises on the stage for forty-five minutes twice a day. -

Greece: A Story from Athens During the Olympic Games
2004-08-29A chief police officer praised Dafa practitioners for the quality of the performance. She said, “You are all very nice. People from the Chinese Embassy told me that you are troublemakers. In the past week, you have not brought us any trouble. Instead, it is them who gave us trouble. Please let me know if there is anything that I can be of help with. Next time when you come to Athens, please call me. We should stay in touch.” Through Dafa practitioners’ songs and dances, Greek citizens experienced the benevolence and compassion of Dafa practitioners. -
Vice-Chairman of the Greek International Diplomats Association Supports Falun Dafa Practitioners

Mr. Ghiolman is a sixty-year old gentleman. He is warm-hearted and has many job titles such as Professor of Maritime Engineering in Athens University, Vice-Chairman of the Greek International Diplomats Association and councillor of the Athens government. Soon after Dafa practitioners started to prepare activities to be held in Athens, he contributed many ideas and helped out a lot. -
