After talking with them we realised that they had already learned that we are trying to stop the persecution and torture of Falun Gong practitioners in China from the local newspaper, which had reported on our petition to bring Jiang to justice. -
Denmark: Orphan of a Falun Gong Couple Exposed the Persecution at Copenhagen Anti-torture Exhibition
2004-10-20Danish practitioners held a press conference outlining the tragic story of Liu Xiaotian, who spent eighteen months on the run from persecution by Jiang and his regime and whose parents were killed because they practised Falun Gong. Practitioners called on the Danish people, to urgently rescue the orphans of the murdered Chinese Falun Gong practitioners and to help stop the persecution in China. -
Estonia: Falun Gong was Very Popular at the Mother Earth Fair in Tallinn
2004-10-20When they heard about the persecution, which has already claimed over 1,000 lives, people talked about their own experiences under Communist rule in Estonia and felt that they could relate with the Falun Gong practitioners in China. They showed great sympathy and support for the practitioners suffering under Jiang's campaign of genocide in China. -
Switzerland: Exposing the Persecution Against Falun Gong Practitioners - Anti-Torture Exhibition in the City of Luzern
2004-10-19On the 9th of October, Swiss Falun Gong practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition at the tourist resort of Luzern. As well as several brutal methods of torture used to force practitioners to give up their beliefs, posters were displayed and practitioners talked to people to answer any questions they had about Falun Gong and the human rights abuses in China. -
Sweden: Dafa Practitioners Add to the Success of Gothenburg's "Night of Culture"
2004-10-19Falun Gong practitioners gave a beautiful performance of “The Wonderful Heart’ in Gotaplatsen Plaza. They used singing, dancing, photographs and a demonstration of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises to show people the beauty and peacefulness of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China, as well as traditional Chinese culture. -
United Kingdom: Raising Awareness of the Persecution with Anti-Torture Exhibitions in 3 Scottish Cities
2004-10-18The anti-torture exhibition returned to Scotland for three days on the weekend of the 26th of September. Petitions to “Bring Jiang to Justice" and "Rescue Practitioners’ Illegally Imprisoned Family Members" were constantly being signed while practitioners talked to many people in depth about the nature of this persecution and how it aims at destroying practitioners' belief and faith. -
Sweden: Falun Gong Exercise Demonstration was Part of Gothenburg’s Annual Cultural Night
2004-10-18On the 16th of October 2004, visitors and residents of Gothenburg City enjoyed the annual Cultural Night. Falun Gong practitioners are a regular part of this event and in the programme this year they introduced the five sets of Falun Gong exercises that have benefited 100 million people in more than 60 countries around the world. -
Spain: Promoting Falun Gong and Raising Awareness of the Persecution during a Persecutor’s Visit to Madrid (2)
2004-10-17Ten minutes before Jia Qinglin arrived, a few overseas Chinese people came out of the back garden. Under the command of an official-looking man, they held flags to welcome Jia and stood in front of Falun Gong practitioners. Switzerland: Short Stories of Exposing the Persecution in the City of Bern
2004-10-17As the Swiss Federal Parliament is meeting in Bern, all the parliament members gather in the city for meetings. Practitioners made the most of this precious opportunity to raise awareness about the human rights abuses against people who practise Falun Gong in China. More than 2000 German and French leaflets were given out and several hundred petition signatures were collected. -
German Newspaper "Leipziger Volkszeitung" Reports on Xiong Wei being Freed from a Forced Labour Camp and Returning to Germany
2004-10-17When talking about the support from abroad, Xiong Wei said, “I was lucky. The police did not treat me as brutally as they did the others.” This is due to the pressure from Germany. The German Government and Premier appealed for Xiong Wei’s freedom in Beijing. There were also petitions against the detainment of Xiong Wei and a large-scale activity of sending postcards to the labour camp where she was detained. As soon as Xiong Wei was released, the German Embassy dropped some diplomatic hints and Xiong Wei was able to come back to Germany last week. -

Germany: Informing People about the Persecution of Falun Gong at the Annual Meeting of the Baltic Development Forum at Hamburg University
2004-10-16For the first time since the citizens and senate of Hamburg joined the Baltic Development Forum in 2003, the city hosted its annual meeting from Sunday September the 2nd to Tuesday September the 4th 2004. The practitioners stayed at the main entrance of the university until the end of the summit. They talked to students, lecturers, university staff and people from economic circles about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Everybody was very receptive and many people were glad to get more information. -

2004-10-16Many people took the opportunity to enquire about the persecution and to ask for details about local practice sites where they can learn the Falun Gong exercises for free. Many people came over and signed the petitions of their own accord or had a chat with practitioners about the human rights abuses that are happening to people who practise Falun Gong in China. -
Russia: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in the World Book Exhibition in Moscow
2004-10-16Russian Falun Gong practitioners took part in this book exhibition. Their stall was on the second floor with a really eye-catching sign. At the stall, they showed Falun Dafa’s books in several languages and also honours that Falun Gong has been awarded from around the world. The main media and publishers in Russia also attended and they interviewed Falun Gong practitioners who participated in the exhibition.
