  • Bertie Ahern, the Irish Prime Minister, Tells the Chinese Premier of His Human Rights Concerns

    The Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) said that he raised the Chinese occupation of Tibet and the suppression of the Falun Gong spiritual movement during a two-hour meeting with Mr Wen, who is on a two-day state visit to Ireland. "For decades China refused to engage at all with the various human rights bodies," he said. "They have now agreed to do so, which is a considerable achievement and they were responding to a request, not a request that I thought up, but a request that human rights bodies have asked us to do.
  • Question Tabled in Swedish Parliament about "Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion for Falun Gong Supporters in France"

    "The French police arrested about fifty Falun Gong supporters on January 24th-25th, 2004, in Paris. It appears as if the French authorities acted on the demands from communist China (PRC). What steps will the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers take to ensure the freedom of speech, freedom to wear yellow scarves, and freedom to express religious and political opinion publicly even for Falun Gong supporters in France?"
  • Germany: Clarifying the Truth to the Department of Chinese Literature at a German University

    The organiser of the seminar, a female priest, said that there are common grounds between the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance promoted by Falun Gong and the teachings in Christianity: they both teach people to be kind. She thanked the two practitioners for a wonderful information-packed night, and invited them to come back again at the same time next week to teach the five sets of Falun Gong exercises.
  • UK: Explaining the Facts at an Amnesty International Meeting in Huddersfield

    On May the 20th, 2004, a Falun Gong practitioner attended a meeting held by the UK Amnesty International working group in Huddersfield. At the meeting, the practitioner explained the facts about Falun Gong to four Amnesty members and showed them a truth-clarification video. When talking about Jiang’s genocide policy against Falun Gong, one of the members appeared to be shocked deeply. The head of this Amnesty International working group expressed his support for Falun Gong, and his wish to do something to rescue Falun Gong practitioners.
  • A New Swedish Version of the Book Falun Gong Will Soon Be Published

    A new Swedish version of the Book Falun Gong will soon be published by B4 Press. This is the third version of the Book in Swedish. The five thousand or so copies of the previous two versions sold out and could not meet the demand. At the moment, many people are waiting for the publication of the new version of the book. To facilitate Swedish understanding of Falun Gong, practitioners used their own spare time to do the translation and proofreading carefully.
  • Finland: Falun Dafa Association held a Press Conference in Helsinki to Highlight the Violation of Human Rights in China

    On the 13th of May 2004, a press conference was held in Helsinki about the human rights situation in China. The speakers included Jane Dai, whose innocent husband was killed because he practised Falun Gong, and Mr. Erping Zhang, Executive Director of the Association for Asian Research and widely recognised in the field of human rights.
  • Estonia: Estonian People Support Falun Dafa and Want to Learn the Practice

    Between the 14th and 16th of May, Falun Dafa practitioners from Latvia, Finland, Sweden and Australia introduced Falun Dafa in Tallinn, Estonia's capital. Practitioners were invited to participate in the Mother Earth Health Fair. Last year's participation was a big success and many people in Estonia were interested in Falun Dafa. During the fair, Falun Gong was also being introduced in the central park in Tallinn.
  • Irish Prime Minister Warns about Human Rights Abuses

    According to a European Report (EU/China) on May 15th, Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern said on May 12th, after meeting Chinese Premier Wen Jaibao, that he raised the issues of the suppression of the Falun Gong spiritual movement and other human rights violations during a two-hour meeting with Mr. Wen, who was on a two-day state visit to Ireland.
  • Russia: Introducing Falun Gong at the Vlasikavkaz City Library

    Practitioners demonstrated the exercises and introduced Falun Dafa to readers at the Vlasikavkaz City Library. Many people took the initiative to learn the exercises and wanted to buy Falun Dafa books after the activity was over. The library also asked us to place posters introducing Dafa in the public reading room.
  • Germany: Clarifying the Truth in Rothenburg City

    Rothenburg is a popular tourist site on the river Neckar in southern Germany. There are a great number of tourists visiting the city each day, including Chinese people. With help from practitioners from other cities, Dafa practitioners in Wuerzburg held a Falun Dafa information day on May 15th. Everyone was gratified because more people came to know the truth.
  • Young Dafa Practitioners from Minghui Schools in Germany and Austria Gathered in Chiemsee During the Easter Holidays

    A number of practitioners set up a counselling group to help their children practice cultivation. After successful experiences, several western practitioners working in the field of child education held the first official Minghui School activity in Chiemsee, Southern Germany, between April 10th and April 12th.
  • Northern Europe: The 'Chinese Voices on Human Rights in China' Symposium Held in the Danish Parliament Building

    On May the 10th, a forum entitled 'Chinese Voices on Human Rights in China' was jointly held by the Danish branch of the International Pen Pal Association and the Danish Falun Gong Association in the Danish parliament building. The speakers were part of the North European Human Rights Speech Tour.

    A victim of polyarthritis that left her hands stiff, Zhang Cuiying could no longer paint. She tried numerous medicines without success. She explains that, from 1997, the Falun Gong exercises purified her body and spirit and allowed her to recommence her work. “Since then, I have made it a part of my life. In 1999, everything changed radically. China, which had supported the traditional movement since 1992, now made it illegal and arrested and imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners."
  • Interview: The Power of Clarifying the Truth

    Two years ago during Jiang Zemin's visit to Germany, the German police were pressured to take a series of harsh measures against Falun Gong practitioners in violation of German basic law. German practitioners filed lawsuits against the German police in several German states simultaneously. One year ago, Munich police station was pressured by the Chinese consulate to ban Falun Gong practitioners from displaying banners reading, "Bringing Jiang to Justice." The practitioners took legal action to deal with the problem. A Clearharmony reporter interviewed two of the practitioners directly involved in the above-mentioned events.
  • An MEP Signs a Letter to Appeal to France to Protect Falun Gong Practitioners' Human Rights and Uphold French Traditional Freedom

    A British MEP, Kris Davis, wrote to Falun Gong practitioners about a letter he sent to the French government, which stated, “France, please uphold freedom". This letter refers to when the French government, under pressure from China, arrested Falun Gong practitioners distributing flyers on the streets, because the flyers exposed the brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China.
