  • Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Li County, Hunan Province

    On November 9th, police arrested several Falun Gong practitioners. They are currently being detained in Li County Detention Centre. Police in the county and city started arresting Falun Gong practitioners in the morning during rush hour and continued their efforts through the night. Ms. Zeng was arrested as she was walking her child to kindergarten. Her house was also ransacked. According to sources, the raid was initiated by police from the National Security Brigade. Arrests took place in the streets, workplaces, and homes. After police finished ransacking practitioners' houses, everything was in shambles, and they had taken away their personal belongings.
  • Mr. Lin Zhiliang and Wife Ji Shuying from Dalian Sentenced

    Mr. Lin Zhiliang and his wife Ms. Ji Shuying were arrested in July 2009, by police. Both husband and wife were detained at the Yaojia Detention Centre in Dalian for nearly a year, and sentenced to prison - Mr. Lin for five years and Ms. Ji for three years. After receiving the sentence, Mr. Lin filed an appeal, but it was rejected by the Intermediate Court.
  • Police from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province Arrest Wang Baoyu

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Baoyu was arrested by two police officers on November 16th. She is currently being held in Jinshantun District. Her dormitory room was also ransacked. Ms. Wang's husband, Mr. Qin Yueming, was sentenced to prison in 2002. He is currently being detained in Jiamusi Prison. Ms. Wang was forced to work outside of her hometown, and her two daughters are now homeless.
  • Ms. Liang Shaolin from Maoming City, Guangdong Province Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison

    Ms. Liang Shaolin was sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp in 1999 because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Because she remained firm in her belief in Falun Gong, her term was extended to five and a half years. She was brutally tortured and also fired from her job. On September 24th, 2009, 17 police used an electric saw to cut her double layer door open, broke into Ms. Liang's home and took her away. Her personal property was ransacked. She was sentenced to nine years in prison on May 2010. Her whereabouts are unknown. She is most likely in the Guangdong Women's Prison.
  • Jiamusi City Court Tries Falun Gong Practitioners, Lawyer Enters Not Guilty Plea

    On October 18th, the rural court in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, tried Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Wang Lixing and Ms. Li Xiurong. The two practitioners testified in court about why they practised Falun Gong and why they would not give up their faith. Two lawyers defended their not guilty pleas. The practitioners were arrested when they were distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. Ms. Wang and Ms. Li have been held in the detention centre since their arrests.
  • Chongqing Police Department Officers Arrest Over a Dozen Falun Gong Practitioners

    Chongqing Police Department officers arrested more than a dozen practitioners and ransacked their homes on the morning of November 16th. As soon as Mr. Zhang Shengquan stepped outside of his home on November 16th, before he could even lock the door, more than a dozen plainclothes police officers attacked him, forcibly dragged him back inside his home and beat him. They ransacked the house and took Mr. Zhang and his wife to the police station. Mr. Zhang's wife was released on November 17th, but Mr. Zhang was detained in the Liziba Detention Centre. Mr. Zhang's family is under surveillance.
  • Ms. Shi Rongxian, Ms. Duan Shuyan, and Ms. Dong Qinglan Arrested in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province

    The police from Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province arrested three practitioners on November 3rd when they were talking to villagers about Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes. They are being held in the county detention centre. The officers threatened them and their families that they would be sent to a forced labour camp if they did not write the three statements to renounce practising Falun Gong.
  • Practitioners in Suizhou, Hubei Province Arrested; Outraged Relatives and Bystanders Stop the Police

    Suzhou City 610 Office agents [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong], along with officers from the Domestic Security Division and from the Police Department, recently arrested several Falun Gong practitioners and held them in a brainwashing facility. Some practitioners' relatives stood up against the police's criminal deeds, successfully stopping some of the attempted arrests. Eight police officers broke into elderly practitioner Mr. Wang Zhiming's home around 8:00 p.m. on November 9th, and arrested him. A group of police officers broke into Mr. Wei Wei's home on the evening of November 12th. They punched and kicked him. When he shouted for help, an officer grabbed his neck and threatened to strangle him if he shouted again. Mr. Wei was taken away.
  • Ni Yanping Sent to Brainwashing Centre Again for Further Persecution

    Practitioner Ms. Ni Yanping was arrested on the morning of August 12th, and taken to a brainwashing centre for the second time. While there, she was brutally beaten by police and criminals. In August 2005, Ni was taken to Longtanshanzhuang Brainwashing Centre and tortured until she was paralysed and could not take care of herself. After being sent home, she practised Falun Gong diligently and eventually recovered.
  • Ms. Zhu Rongzhen from Kunming City Arrested Again

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhu Rongzhen, 57, is being held at the Chenggong County Detention Centre in Kunming City, and is extremely weak from being tortured. Officials from the detention centre refused to tell her family of her condition and only told them that Ms. Zhu was sent to the prison hospital.
  • Kindergarten Teacher Ms. Wei Xingzhi Detained in Wuhan Women's Prison

    Ms. Wei Xingzhi was arrested on September 23rd, 2009, when agents from the Wuhan City Police Department, Wuhan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), and the Shuiguohu Police Station pried open the door to her home and ransacked it. Ms. Wei was taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Centre. She was transferred to Wuhan Women's Prison in August 2010. Her elderly mother, who is in her 80's and requires assistance, has been left uncared for at home. Because she refused to give up practising Falun Gong, Ms. Wei's workplace terminated her employment and withheld her salary for eight years. Ms. Wei has also been subjected to forced labour and brainwashing at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party for her belief in Falun Gong.
  • Mr. Liu Yuanbo and Ms. Yu Lancun from Chenxi County, Hunan Province Arrested

    Chenxi County 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested Mr. Liu Yuanbo on November 3rd, and took him to the Huaihua City Brainwashing Centre. Mr. Liu Yuanbo, 36, is a welding mechanic. He has practised Falun Gong for more than ten years. Since the onset of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, he has been arrested and subjected to beatings many times.
  • Ms. Tan Kaiqing from Guangzhou Arrested

    Ms Tan Kaiqing was arrested on November 5th, 2010. Her family was told she had been taken to the Xihuajie Police Station, but an officer told them she had been sent to the Henan District Police Department. According to her family, Ms. Tan has practised Falun Gong for more than ten years. She works in a bank in Guangdong Province and is publicly regarded as a good worker and an honest person. On November 5th, while looking at different online sites at home, she was arrested and taken away. Her whereabouts are still unknown.
  • 70-Year-Old Woman Sentenced to Prison and Denied Visits from Her Attorney

    On June 4th, 2010, police arrested Ms. Shi Jinhua, who is seventy years old, because she mailed several letters talking about Falun Gong. Her family asked an attorney to visit her and arrange her release. When the attorney went to make inquires about Ms. Shi's situation, he was told that she had been sentenced to four years in prison by the Minhang Court. Since July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Gong. Ms. Shi Jinhua used her personal experiences to explain the truth of Falun Gong. In the past 11 years, she has been arrested and detained fourteen times. She has been beaten and tortured. Her home has been ransacked many times, and her property confiscated.
  • Ms. Feng Suxia Detained

    More than a dozen officers from the Renqiu Police Department, the Chu'an Police Department, and the Chu'an Police Station climbed over a wall by using a ladder and broke into Ms. Feng Suxia's home at around 11:00 p.m. on August 25th, 2010. Wearing only underwear, Ms. Feng was taken to the Chu'an Police Department and then transferred to the Renqiu Detention Centre, where she is currently detained and on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
