Family Appeals for Investigation Following Death of Zhang Hong at Wanjia Labour Camp

On July 31, 2004, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Hong from Harbin City was persecuted to death by Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province. The labour camp authorities demanded that Ms. Zhang's family cremate her body as soon as possible, but this demand was firmly refused. Ms. Zhang's family is now turning to the legal process with an appeal to investigate her death. -
Ms. Wei Yaxia is Found Dead After Being Driven Out of Home
2004-08-30Following Ms. Wei Yaxia's release from Wanjia Labour Camp, policemen and police vehicles were stationed around her home. They applied pressure on her family members and threatened to fire her husband and to make her son unable to work. Ms. Wei had to leave home to avoid persecution. She hid in an empty house of a relative. On the evening of April 25 they heard someone knocking on the door of the room where Ms. Wei was hiding. On the morning of April 26, Ms. Wei was found dead outside of the building. The details of her death are still unknown. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms Shan Yuqin from Heilongjiang Province Dies as a Result of Brutal Torture (Photo)
2004-08-29Ms. Shan Yuqin, 48, was a forty-eight year old Dafa practitioner from Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province. Because Shan Yuqin was frequently arrested and detained, her watermelon crop was left with no one to take care of it. As a result, her family did not have any income and led a very hard life. In 2001, Shan Yuqin was arrested and detained in Wanjia Labour Camp. Due to the long-term torture, her health became poorer and poorer. Half of her body was paralyzed and she couldn't take care of herself. Although she was eventually released, she remained bedridden. On August 20, 2004, she passed away. -
Belated News - Dafa Practitioner Mr Cao Yang from Chongqing City Tortured to Death in 2002
2004-08-29In October 2000, Mr Cao Yang of Chongqing, was forcibly taken away and illegally sentenced to three years for his practice of Falun Gong. He was sent to Qianjiang for forced labour and inhumanly tortured. Each day he was monitored around the clock, deprived of sleep and the drug addicts beat him viciously. In May 2002 he was tortured to death. Afterwards the policemen did not allow his family members to see his body. They fabricated a story that he had committed suicide and hurriedly sent the body to be cremated. -
57 Years Old Dafa Practitioner Wang Qingzhou from Shandong Province Dies from Torture
2004-08-27Mr. Wang Qingzhou, 57 years old, lived near to Weihai City, Shandong Province. He began practising Falun Gong in 1997 and went to the local government to clarify the truth after the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. In January 2003 he was again arrested and sent to a detention centre where he was tortured before being released in May 2003. After he returned home, he had constant pain in his abdomen. Mr. Wang Qingzhou passed away three months later. -
Ms. Sun Xiuhua Dies as a Result of Persecution in Jilin Province
2004-08-27Ms. Sun Xiuhua, 47, lived in Nong'an County, Jilin Province. She was sent twice to the Nong'an Detention Centre and released only after forcing her to pay 6,000 Yuan in fines, both times. Due to the persecution of her body, the enormous pressure on her mind, and the large amount of fines she was forced to pay, Ms. Sun started to suffer both physically and mentally, and her health deteriorated day by day. Tragically, she died on June 16, 2004. -
Practitioner Zhou Zhi Tortured to Death at the Second Prison in Liaoning Province
2004-08-26Mr. Zhou Zhi, around 38 years of age, was an engineer in Liaoning Province. He was arrested last May for downloading Falun Gong truth-clarification materials from the internet. After his arrest, Zhou had been on hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. Last November, he and three other practitioners were sentenced to 11 years in prison. Zhou was tortured to death on August 16 this year at the Second Prison in Shanyang City, Liaoning Province. -
Follow-Up Report on the Death of Ms. Peng Chunrong from Chongqing City
2004-08-25Ms. Peng Chunrong was a resident of Chongqing City. On April 11, 2004, Ms. Peng died in police custody in the courtyard of the Duzhou Township government building. After Ms. Peng's death, the "610 Office" and rounded up local Falun Gong practitioners and ransacked their homes, to intimidate the practitioners as well as their friends and neighbours in the community. -
Three Deaths of Female Dafa Practitioners From Torture at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2004-08-24Ms. Wang Yan, from Dalian City was around 37 years old and had a college degree. She was imprisoned in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for about two years where she was subjected to torture. We have since learned from her younger sister that Wang Yan was tortured to death. Ms. Wang Wenjun, in her 40s, was sentenced to three years of forced labour for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing and imprisoned in the Camp. After subjected to horrific torture she died at home on July 22, 2003. . -
Harbin City Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wang Guangying Dies after Being Persecuted Relentlessly for Four Years
2004-08-23Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Guangying in her 40s, from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province was persecuted many times by police because she firmly believed in Dafa. While she was homeless and went from place to place, her old illnesses recurred and she lost eyesight in both her eyes. Police went to her home many times to harass her, yet Wang Guangying's whole body was covered with edema and she was suffering from incontinence. Suffering from this painful condition as a result of relentless persecution, she died on July 15, 2004. -
68-Year-Old Ms. Xin Jingwen Beaten to Death at Local Labour Camp in Yueyang City, Hunan Province
2004-08-23Xin Jingwen was a 68-year-old woman from Yueyang City, Hunan Province. Xin was arrested twice and sent to a labour camp for distributing factual information about Falun Dafa. On May 2 2004 she died in the labour camp. Her family found many bruises on her body, so they questioned the police. The police department then said it was the labour camp personnel that beat her to death. -
Practitioner Yang Yun Dies After Torture and Brainwashing in Hebei Province
2004-08-23Yang Yun was arrested on March 1, 2002, and sent to Hebei Province Brainwashing Centre for persecution. Yang Yun was sent under custody of his workplace and the "610 Office" to the Brainwashing Centre. From 8:00 AM to midnight, collaborators and policemen took turns brainwashing him and simply did not let up. They tortured him until he could not breathe and his whole body turned purple. As a result of the torture Yang Yun's body and mind were devastated. He left this world on April 19, 2003. -
Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhang Hong From Harbin City Dies as a Result of Torture at the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp (Photos)
2004-08-22Ms. Zhang Hong was 31 years old and had lived in Harbin City. On July 22, 2004 she was sent to the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. While at the camp, Ms. Zhang Hong refused to cooperate with the evildoers in any way and refused to write the "Three Statements," which are specific documents denouncing Falun Gong and went on hunger strike. Inmates force-fed her and on July 31, four male guards carried Zhang Hong away on a stretcher and disinfected the whole room afterwards. Section head Zhao later said, "Ms. Zhang Hong has died from kidney failure as a result of heart disease." The truth is she died from barbaric torture. -
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Xie Zhaoming from Chongqing City Tortured to Death
2004-08-21Mr. Xie Zhaoming was a 50-year-old laid off worker from Chongqing City. Because he used his mobile phone to send text messages to people to clarify the truth of the persecution, he was flagged by the internet monitoring and targeted by the police for surveillance. In 2003, he was arrested and thrown into Jiangjin Detention Centre. On June 1, 2004, he was sentenced to five years in prison. Because he refused to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa, he was tortured to death by the authorities in the Detention Centre on July 28, 2004. -
Mr. Shang Baolin, a Farmer from Shandong Province, Collapses and Dies after Repeated High Pressure Tactics from the Local Authorities
2004-08-21At midnight on September 28, 2002, over ten policemen broke into Mr Shang Baolin's home and threatened him, trying to force him to tell them the whereabouts of his wife. They told him that if he refused, they would arrest him and beat him. Finally, under severe pressure he told the police his wife's location at her parents' house. On October 10, 2002, Shang Baolin collapsed suddenly and died. At age 39, he left this world with a frightened expression on his face. Now, his wife and his ten-year-old daughter are living a lonely and impoverished life.
