Sham Trial in Jilin City, Jilin Province Illustrates Lack of Justice for Falun Dafa Practitioners in China

On July 10th, judge Hu Chunwei of the Chuanying District Court in Jilin City, Jilin Province, put five practitioners on trial. Under pressure, the lawyer employed by Ms. Wang Liqiu's family could not enter a plea of innocence; he had to defend Ms. Wang according to the orders of the court authorities. During the so-called court session, Ms. Zhao Yingjie pointed out that after she was arrested, the police officers pierced her lower body with sticks covered in nails. She showed the wounds on her legs as evidence. Mr. Zhao Guoxing brought to court as evidence his clothes soaked with blood and stained with mustard oil, which he vomited when he was being force-fed. The evidence that was preserved for 4 months under arduous conditions was snatched away by the police. -
Ms. Ma Linqin Partially Paralysed from Torture by Police in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province
2007-07-31In March, 2002, Ms. Wang Liqin was arrested while putting up materials exposing the persecution. She was then taken to the Second Detention Centre. Ten days later, she was picked up by her son; however, due to being tortured so brutally, she had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Doctors had to operate, but after the operation, one side of her body was paralysed, and she could not talk. -
The Persecution of Two Practitioners in Zhangjiakou Area, Hebei Province
2007-07-31In February 2000, Zhang Yulan arranged for some practitioners to come to her home to share experiences from practising Falun Gong. She was reported to the police who detained her for 40 days. During detention, the director Fan Yanbing shocked her with electric batons. Before releasing her, the police department deputy chief Guo Shilin forced her to write statements slandering Dafa and also extorted 500 yuan from her. On October 25th, 2000, Zhang Yulan went to Beijing to appeal again. She was arrested and jailed in the local detention centre for one month. Her husband was also detained for two days because of her. The detention centre extorted 1,000 yuan from her before releasing her. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo from Langfang City, Hebei Province Force-Fed Eight Times a Day, Prison Doctor Says He Could Die At Any Time
2007-07-30Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo was arrested on February 5th, 2006. Immediately after the arrest, Mr. Yang went on a hunger strike that has lasted 18 months. Currently, doctors are force-feeding him eight times a day. Yang Jianpo can no longer take care of himself and breathes through a ventilator. A prison doctor said he could die at any moment. The hospital authorities are waiting for higher officials to give orders to disconnect all life support. Previously, Yang Jianpo was savagely beaten and shocked for three days straight. The officers wrapped copper wires around his fingers and ran electric current through him. They kept increasing the electric current to maximise the pain. According to someone who underwent this torture, it's so excruciating it can make a person go insane. -
Ms. Li Hongping Tortured and Coerced Into a Confession by Police in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province
2007-07-30Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Hongping is an employee of the Second Property Company of China Petroleum & Petrochemical Co., Lanzhou City Branch. On May 14th, 2007, four police officers went to the Lintao Street Garage where she worked, and arrested her. That same night, Ms. Li was tortured and coerced into a confession. She was forced to sit on a "tiger bench", and to "hang up in the air." After she was brutally tortured at the Lanzhou City Police Department, she was transferred to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Centre and again tortured. The officers at the brainwashing centre also ordered her employer to pay 3000 yuan for a so called "transformation" fee. -
Five Falun Gong Practitioners from Hubei, Shangdong, Guangdong, Jilin and Hunan Provinces Pass Away as a Result of the Persecution
2007-07-30Ms. Liang Tianying, 68, began practising Falun Gong more than ten years ago. Her illnesses disappeared after she began the practice. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, she had been detained by the local 610 Office and detention centre. She was also constantly harassed and persecuted. The police constantly followed her. Her family was harassed in May of this year. The elderly lady was under pressure for many years, which caused her mind and body to become exhausted. Her health declined dramatically and she passed away on May 19th, 2007. -
Three Practitioners from Liaoning Province, Hubei Province, and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-07-30Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Guo Yuzhi went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in 2000. She was arrested in Tiananmen Square and brutally beaten by police. The thugs tied rope around her breasts and pulled very hard, causing her breasts to be severely damaged. After 15 days of torture, she was taken back to Yichang City and detained in the Yichang City First Detention Centre for 15 days. The detention centre authorities saw that she was dying, so they released her. At that point her breasts had become badly infected. Ms. Guo suffered for several months before passing away. -
Ms. Cao Lijiao Sentenced to Forced Labour and Mr. Luo Xiangjiang's Term Extended in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province
2007-07-30Kan Guilian (in her fifties) and Li Tiejun (in her sixties) were arrested by police on April 26th, 2007 while they were informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong, dispelling the state propaganda attacking the practice and urging them to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Li Tiejun has now returned home. Cao Lijiao has since been sentenced to forced labour by agents from the city's 610 Office. At present, Cao Lijiao is imprisoned at the Baimalong Women's Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City. -
The Deaths of 20 Falun Gong Practitioners Confirmed in June 2007 (Photo)
2007-07-29Ms. Wang Yaqing was a 46-year-old hairdresser who lived in Miyun County, Beijing. She started to practise Falun Gong in the Spring of 1999 and was kindhearted and honest. She was so skillful that people often waited in line for her services. She was given unknown drugs during two months of detention, which caused the deterioration of her eyesight and memory, retardation, asthma, and oedema [swelling] throughout her body. She was no longer able to care for herself. Wang Yaqing passed away on May 27th, 2007, after enduring seven months of excruciating pain. -
Ms. Tang Xingyun from Shenyang Dies from Electric Shock Torture --Police Use Threats to Silence Her Family

Tang Xingyun, a Dafa practitioner from Shenyang City, was distributing Dafa leaflets exposing the persecution on March 10th, 2007. That evening a person reported her and she was arrested by Shashan police. At the police station, ten policemen shocked her with eight electric batons and Ms. Tang died on the spot. She was 65 years old. On March 13th, during the funeral ceremony, police said to her family:"If you tell people the truth, the whole family will be detained!" -
Ms. Wang Puhua from Chaoyang District Beijing Passed Away as a Result of Persecution
2007-07-29Dafa practitioner Wang Puhua died as a result of persecution on June 13th, 2007. Police went to harass Wang Puhua on a monthly basis before she passed away. She was close to sixty years old. In February 2006, she had been sentenced to two years in a labour camp and sent to the Beijing Reform-through-Labour Dispatch Department, where she was forced every day to watch programmes that slandered Falun Dafa, even though she had vision problems. She was also tortured with the "Sitting Board" for over 10 hours a day. In October 2006 the police arrested her for the second time. Her health condition declined quickly. She again developed pain throughout her body and began to cough up blood. After Wang Puhua returned home, she could not take care of herself anymore. -
Mr. Sha Naiyu Tortured to Death: Additional Information
2007-07-29The police found Falun Dafa materials in Mr. Sha Naiyu's home and brutally tortured him. At around 6 p.m. on July 14th, 2007, Mr. Sha Naiyu was found dead on the ground outside the police department building. Doctors discovered that his internal organs were smashed, and there was a large amount of blood inside his stomach. He was dead. The police claimed that Mr. Sha jumped from the third floor while being interrogated, but the local people did not believe that. They instead believe it was not possible for him to die from falling from that height, and that the police may have thrown his body out the window to create a false scene. The police said themselves several days earlier when harassing Falun Dafa practitioners at home, "Our upper level bosses said we need kill a batch of practitioners before the Olympics." -
After Being Detained for Three Years in Fujian Province Women's Forced Labour Camp, Quan Saizhu Is Still Being Persecuted by the 610 Office
2007-07-29Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Quan Saizhu was arrested by officers from the Fujian Province 610 Office, the police department and the provincial prison system. She was sentenced to three years of forced labour. After her release on April 20th, 2007, she was frequently threatened and harassed by police officers and could not return home. The Women's Forced Labour Camp guards deprived her of sleep, forced her to stand for a long period of time, verbally abused her and brutally beat her. She was also forced to do hard labour daily for over 10 hours. -
Five Falun Gong Practitioners in Jilin City Face Prison Sentences after Being Cruelly Tortured
2007-07-28Five Falun Gong practitioners in Jilin City, Jilin Province who were arrested in mid February 2007 were forced to appear at a court session on July 10th, 2007. The police cruelly tortured all five practitioners in attempt to extort confessions from them. They were force-fed with spicy mustard oil, their legs were compressed with spiral steel bars, and police sexually assaulted a female practitioner with a wooden stick. Some practitioners have been tortured until they lost consciousness, but when they came to, they were tortured again. -
Give My Dad Back to Me - Diary of Mr. Meng Fanquan's Son
2007-07-28Diary: April 20th, 2006: Dad was arrested again. This was the fifth time Dad has been arrested. That evening, I was home alone. Seven or eight policemen rushed into my home. They took away my computer, which I use for school work, and my MP3 player. My home was searched and turned upside down. I am so scared. I'm worried about my dad, because I heard there was an uncle that practises Falun Gong in the detention centre. One day he had diarrhoea, but the police refused to let him go to the toilet and told him to force it back. He was tortured very badly. I was shocked by this. I can't imagine what kind of torture Dad will have to go through this time.
