Mr. Yuan Shunhua of East China Normal University Deprived of the Right of Study

Mr. Yuan Shunhua, age 26, began his undergraduate studies at the Department of Art Education of East China Normal University in 1997. On July 20, 1999, the university heads had several private talks with him, threatening him with removal from his class monitor post and expulsion from the Youth League of Chinese Communist Party. They pressured his family, trying to coerce him into denouncing Falun Gong and criticizing Falun Gong in accordance with Party propaganda. In 2000, Yuan Shunhua went to Beijing to appeal and was sent to a labour camp and deprived of the right to go to university. -

Frenzied Beating Causes Death of Elderly Sichuan Province Dafa Practitioner Mr. Xia Wei
2004-09-17Since July 19, 1999, 56-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xia Wei and his wife Deng Zhongqin from Sichuan Province were cruelly persecuted because they persisted in their practice of Dafa. On July 19, 2000, Xia Wei was abducted by the police and beaten unconscious. After that he suffered with symptoms such as frequently vomiting blood, chest pain and dizziness. Belated News: A Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Died in Detention in 2002 in Shandong Province
2004-09-17Around 2002, police from Weifang City, Shandong Province abducted a female Falun Dafa practitioner and took her to a Detention Centre. She refused to tell the police her name and address and went on a hunger strike to protest against this illegal persecution. The inhuman police knew that the practitioner had heart disease, yet they still tortured her by brutally force-feeding her. After 13 days of being on a hunger strike, this practitioner passed away unjustly, in a place far away from her hometown. The practitioner was around 30 years old. Her family might not even know about her death. -
Police in Chongqing City Hold Four-Year-Old Girl Hostage and Brutally Persecute Her Parents and Her Grandmother (Photo)
2004-09-17Four-year-old Zhang Yuanyuan has been held hostage by police officers in Chongqing for six months because her parents, Mr. Zhang Hongxu and Ms. Wu Yongmei, both practise Falun Gong. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, the authorities have detained the girl's parents repeatedly and sent them to forced labour camps. To avoid further persecution, they were forced to leave home. Their child was left in the care of her grandmother. The authorities then mistreated the girl's grandma, who suffered dementia from the stress, leaving her unable to care for her grandchild. -

2004-09-17Torture method: The "Stitch": Using a needle about 4 inches long, the police pass the needle through the victim's back so that a thin nylon line is sent through the flesh, just like sewing clothes. They then rub preserved salty vegetables into the stitches. The guards or warden order criminals to yank on the nylon line once in a while, causing excruciating pain. -

2004-09-16Thirty-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Wang Xia from Linhe City, Inner Mongolia was tortured in Hohhot City Prison until she was left in a coma as little more than skin and bones. Wang Xia still lapses in and out of coma. She cannot take care of herself at all. Her parents and sister take turns looking after her. Her family cries every day from grief and indignation. The perpetrators planned to cremate her alive to destroy the evidence. -
Details Regarding the Death of Dafa Practitioner Mr Bai Wanling from Xinjiang Province
2004-09-16Ms Bai Wanling was a 39-year-old Dafa practitioner from Xinjiang Province. Both her parents, also Dafa practitioners were persecuted to death and Bai Wanling suffered terribly in a labour camp. After both of her parents were persecuted to death, the police kept harassing Bai Wanling's brother and sister-in-law every day. They deceived the couple into going to a brainwashing class and detained them there. In May 2004, Bai's family sent her to a hospital to be treated. However she passed away on May 31 2004. -

2004-09-16I am a Falun Gong practitioner in Anqiu, Shandong Province. I went to distribute truth-clarification materials on Sept. 4, 2004. A vehicle came on the same road. I got off my bike to make room for the vehicle to pass. It ended up being a police car. Two or three policemen jumped out of the car, stopped me, pulled out a handful of my hair and kicked me until I fell down on the ground. -
In Spite of Pressure, Lawyer Defends Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhang Qiyong in Illegal Trial in Chongqing City of China
2004-09-16Zhang Qiyong's family went through a lot of trouble to employ Wang Ruirong from the Ruihai Law Office in Chongqing City. When the lawyer asked to see her client, the detention centre dodged, evaded, and stalled for time using all sorts of excuses. When Wang Ruirong met Zhang Qiyong for the first time in the detention centre on the 1st of June, 2004, she asked the guards to remove his shackles and handcuffs, not to treat her client like a death row inmate, and to stop torturing him. -

2004-09-15Three boards: The victim's limbs are cuffed to the four corners of the bed. Only three narrow wood slats are placed on the bed frame, and a boxing head cover is tightly attached to the victim's head. A long period of this torture makes the victim experience extreme pain all over his body. His head usually feels dizzy and his eyes blur. -
Jilin City's First and Third Detention Centers Exhibit Total Disregard for Human Rights and Try to Conceal their Crimes
2004-09-15The First and Third Detention Centres of Jilin City are located on Yueshan Road. Since July the 20th 1999, the two centres have detained and severely persecuted hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners. With the permission of Director of the Third Detention Centre Zhufeng Sun and Commissar Wang Wenkui, at least three Falun Gong practitioners have been murdered in the centre. Wang Lixin, Fu Shengchun and Li Chuanping have all died as a direct result of the persecution they were subjected to in the detention centre. -

2004-09-15The authorities at Huhhot Women's Forced Labour Camp have adopted many inhumane measures to torment determined Falun Dafa practitioners. Ms. Zhou Caixia was tortured to death at the Huhhot Women's Labour Camp. Her hands were crippled as a result of this hanging torture before she died. In addition, she was force-fed with lime (calcium carbonate), which burned the lining of her stomach. She was finally driven to madness from pain. -
The Death of Elderly Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Hai in Shandong Province
2004-09-14Mr. Li Hai was a 69 year old Dafa practitioner who lived in Shandong Province. When his son, a determined Falun Dafa practitioner, was detained, Li Hai lost his means of support. The authorities constantly harassed and extorted money from him, forcing him to sell his only cow and his peanuts and other crops. Li Hai suffered terribly under the long-term persecution, threats, terror and extortion. He passed away on December 23, 2002.
