Early on, they fabricated the so-called "1400 suicide cases," and last year they staged the tragic "Tiananmen self-immolation." Later in 2001, they even broadcasted a bloody murder by a mentally ill man in an attempt to slander Falun Gong. They have gone too far with their lies. -
The Cruel Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners
2002-02-17In Hunchun City, Jilin Province, vicious policemen handcuffed the practitioners' hands behind their bodies and raised their arms up high, then hung 25kg (about 55lb) weights on each practitioner's neck. Next they forced the practitioners to step on pictures of the founder of Falun Gong and to renounce Falun Gong by claiming to quit the practice. The abusers shamelessly cursed, "We have more than enough ways to torment you. We'll continue holding you like this, so all of you will die of uremia." (Note: A toxic condition resulting from kidney disease in which there is retention in the bloodstream of waste products normally excreted in the urine.) This is the so-called "Help to change by persuasion" directive propagated on the Party's newspaper. -

2002-02-17Officer Zhou Qian then went to the cell to shock practitioner Liu's face and neck with the electric baton, and she also slapped Liu in the face repeatedly. Five days later, when Liu was released from the solitary cell, her neck was burnt black and peeling. Some skin had also peeled off from her right thumb, and she looked emaciated. At that time she was extremely tense, almost in a trance-like state. Now one year later, she is still slow to do anything. -

2002-02-17Mr. Zhang Shimian launched a hunger strike to protest the torture. Lawless policemen instigated three criminals to twist his nose, pried his teeth open with a shoe brush to open his mouth to force-feed him, which caused Mr. Zhang Shimian to lose his two front teeth. After the force-feeding, he was not allowed to change his dirty clothes. Mr. Zhang Shimian is a 70 year-old practitioner. It was inhumane for these abusive policemen to torture such an old man in that way. -

Dafa Practitioner Tortured to Death at Public Security Bureau
2002-02-17A few days later, Lu Shuqiu's family members got a notice from the police station asking for 2,000 Yuan (average wage for Chinese is about 500 a month ) for her return. However, on the next day, the police station notified her family members that Lu Shuqiu had died in the Beijing Deputy Office of the Jilin City Public Security Bureau. They then asked the family to take care of the funeral. -
