Police in Guan County, Shandong Province Persecute Falun Gong Practitioner and Her Daughter
2010-12-12Zhou Huaiju, almost 50 years old, has been brutally persecuted many times ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999. On April 27th, 2004, Ms. Zhou went out to work. A few police officers arrested her again. They used an electric baton on her and then imprisoned her in a detention centre. The police at the detention centre followed Chen Yuezhi's orders to brutally torture Ms. Zhou Huaiju. She was tortured so badly that she could not eat, and she couldn't stop vomiting. -
Ms. Deng Hui's Personal Account of Persecution
2010-12-12In May 2002. I was sentenced to three years of forced labour, and was first taken to the Xili Brainwashing Centre. After seven months of brainwashing sessions, I was transferred to the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp. They used many methods to torture me in the labour camp, such as denying me use of the toilet, depriving me of sleep, and forcing me to remain in strenuous positions for long periods of time. -
Practitioner Yang Xitian from She County, Hebei Province Sentenced to Forced Labour
2010-12-11On September 25th, eight police officers broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Yang Xitianand his wife Wang Qiaolian. They ransacked and confiscated their property. Police took Yang Xitian and his wife to a detention centre. Wang Qiaolian was forced to do slave labour, packaging small decoration gifts made by male prisoners. Every day she had to work 14 to 15 hours. Yang Xitian was sentenced to forced labour for eight months and was sent to the Handan Forced Labour Camp. -
Officials Try to Prevent Lawyers from Defending Practitioners in Zhaoyuan City
2010-12-11Seven Falun Gong practitioners from Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province, were recently arrested. Officials from the judiciary and Zhaoyuan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) tried to prevent their lawyers from defending them. When the lawyers met the judge, they were told the situation had changed, and that they could neither meet with their clients nor defend them in court. The judge showed them a hand-written note, claiming it was from one of the practitioners. It read, "I do not want a lawyer, and I do not want my family to hire a lawyer for me, either." The family members firmly denied that these were the real wishes of any of the practitioners and questioned the authenticity of the handwriting. -
Four Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced in Songyuan, Jilin Province
2010-12-11Four Falun Gong practitioners were recently tried secretly at the Ningjiang District Court in Songyuan, Jilin Province. The trial was held without informing the practitioners' families, and the practitioners were sentenced several days after the trial. Doctor Yang was sentenced to eight years. According to sources inside China, he has been brutally tortured. The three other practitioners were sentenced to seven and a half years. They are still being held at the Shanyou Detention Centre in Songyuan. -
Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners in Hebei Province Women's Prison
2010-12-11Hebei Province Women's Prison is located southwest of Shijiazhuang City, near Luquan City, and at the base of Taihang Mountain. To the north of the prison is the Hebei Province Women's Detention Centre. The prison is divided into 17 sections, including a Juvenile Detention Centre. There are a total of 3,000 prisoners, among which are more than 200 Falun Gong practitioners. Forced labour mainly includes clothing production, and much of it is the production of police and army uniforms. The prison claims a "transformation rate" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] (of Falun Gong practitioners) of more than 95%. -
The Chinese Communist Party's Use of Force-feeding
2010-12-10Ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came to power, it has worked to destroy traditional Chinese culture, beliefs, and morals at an unprecedented pace. This has resulted in an unbelievably warped society. One such aberration is the CCP's use of force-feeding. Conventionally, force-feeding is intended to supply food and fluids to save the lives of patients. To reduce potential medical errors, this humanitarian emergency treatment is only to be performed by highly trained health care providers at well-equipped hospitals, following strict procedures. Under the CCP rule, however, force-feeding has become a method to inflict harm on or even kill innocent victims, especially Falun Gong practitioners. -
Practitioners Persecuted in Harbin City Drug Rehabilitation Forced Labour Camp
2010-12-10Twelve practitioners were detained in Harbin City Drug Rehabilitation Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province from July 1st to July 3rd, 2010. They were brutally tortured in an attempt to force them to give up their belief in Falun Gong. Ms. Liu Shuling refused to sign a guarantee statement to stop practising Falun Gong, and so the guards kept her tied to the iron chair and extended her term at the camp by three more months. While the practitioners were handcuffed to the iron chairs, the guards covered all the windows and doors with newspaper, so nobody from outside could see them. It was very hot inside the room. The handcuffs deeply cut into the flesh. After a few days of no sleep, they were mentally and physically exhausted. Ms. Liu was tortured to death on July 3rd. -
Ms. Zhou Shuhong Detained at Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp
2010-12-10On June 13th, 2010, Ms. Zhou Shuhong was arrested by a dozen police officers from the Zhuozhou 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong]. The police officers ransacked her house. They sentenced Ms. Zhou to one year of forced labour using the information on her computer, leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books that they took from her house. It has been more than six months since Ms. Zhou was transferred to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp. When Ms. Zhou's family members went to see her at the forced labour camp, the guards harassed, intimidated, and deceived them. -
In China, Millions Targeted for Brainwashing
2010-12-10The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is rolling out a new campaign that seeks to forcibly “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] the minds of Falun Gong believers in China. It will go for three years, involve millions of people, and cost billions of dollars, according to Party documents available online and a recent analysis by a Falun Gong human rights group. -
Ms. Zhang Yanfang, Who Learned Falun Gong in Prison, Was Persecuted to Death
2010-12-09Ms. Zhang Yanfang, who learned Falun Gong when she was imprisoned, died on November 2nd, 2010, in prison at the age of 54. In over ten years of imprisonment in Haerbing Women's Prison, she was brutally tortured by being hung up, forced to sit on an iron bench, beaten, frozen, starved, deprived of sleep, put in prolonged solitary confinement, and force fed. -
Liu Yujian, Arrested at Peking University, Is on the Verge of Death
2010-12-09On October 28th, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Liu Yujian was arrested at the Ziyuan Hotel of Peking University by four policemen from the Chaoyang District Police Department in Beijing. After enduring serious beatings, he was imprisoned in the Chaoyang Detention Centre in Beijing. After his arrest, Liu Yujian started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He was force-fed for more than 10 days. This has caused Mr. Liu to develop high blood pressure, heart problems, and stomach ulcers. He is on the verge of death, but the police still refuse to release him. -
Released after Seven Years of Imprisonment, Mr. Xu Ming Arrested Again
2010-12-09In June 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Ming was arrested at his home by 13 police officers. After he started practising Falun Gong, many people witnessed the changes in him and thought very highly of him. Mr. Xu was subjected to seven years of imprisonment because he practised Falun Gong. Not long after he was released, he was arrested again. Now he is being held in the Changzhou City Detention Centre. The police officers ransacked his house and took away his computer and many other personal belongings. Mr. Xu was sentenced for the first time ten years ago. He was brutally tortured during interrogation. When he was in prison, he was forced to do slave labour during the daytime. At night he was deprived of sleep for 12 days in a row. -
Woman, Whose Torture Was Cited by Attorney, Killed in Custody
2010-12-09A Chinese woman whose experience of torture was mentioned in an open letter written by a famous human rights lawyer has been killed in custody, according to a Falun Gong human rights group. Fifty-three year old Sun Shuxiang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun, died on October 10th, four months after her release from a labour camp where she had been severely tortured. Sun was cited as a torture victim by Chinese human rights attorney Gao Zhisheng in a 2005 open letter to top Chinese leaders. -
Retired Engineer from Chongqing Loses Vision in Both Eyes As a Result of Persecution; Her Family Torn Apart
2010-12-08Seventy-one-year-old retired engineer Ms. Wang Liuzhen was subjected to forced labour twice for remaining steadfast in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She lost vision in both eyes. Following the orders of Chinese Communist Party, local officials forced her husband to divorce her, and forbade her children from visiting her. On top of this, they hired two bullies to monitor an elderly lady who is not a threat to anyone.
