  • Ms. Jiang Yunqiu from Huaihua City, Hunan Province Persecuted at a Brainwashing Centre

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Yunqiu lives in Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Local 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested her on October 13th, 2010 and detained her in a brainwashing facility. Twenty days after her detention began, officer Li Weidong kept returning twice a day and threatening Ms. Jiang with sentencing her to a prison term if she refused to sign a document to renounce her belief in Falun Gong. She refused, and was given food laced with unknown drugs. Soon after, she started trembling all over, became nauseated and kept vomiting. When Ms. Jiang was released on November 12th, she was in a confused mental state, and has not yet been able to recover.
  • How I Escaped Death at Shandong Province No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp

    I was arrested on December 25th, 2008 after being reported to the authorities while handing out fliers about Falun Gong. I was held at the Shandong Province No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp for one and a half years. In attempts to "reform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] me, labour camp officials used mental and physical torture on me. The torture made me disabled, and I was carried home on July 2nd, 2010.
  • Elderly Ms. Wu Yingzi Dies as a Result of Persecution in Jilin Province

    Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Wu Yingzi has been to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong three times. She was arrested and detained at Tiananmen Square Detention Centre, where she was brutally tortured all three times. She was arrested again over the years and in August 2009. At Wangqing Brainwashing centre, Wu Yingzi was persecuted so severely that she developed a serious heart condition and her blood pressure shot up. At the time, police told her to go home and said that they would arrest her again after she recovered. The elderly woman was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution. Ms. Wu passed away on July 17th, 2010.
  • Chinese Communist Regime's Malicious Infringement of Female Falun Gong Practitioners' Rights

    Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong was taken to the Longshan Forced Labour Camp in July 2003. Deputy leader of the labour camp's second division Tao Yubao and team leader Jiang Zhaohua shocked Ms. Gao with electric batons for more than six consecutive hours starting on May 7th, 2004. Her face was disfigured with blisters, with the burned skin, pus, and blood being stuck together. Her face became so swollen that her eyes could not open, and even her best friends couldn't recognise her. A photo of Ms. Gao's disfigurement released 10 days after the torture sent shocks throughout the world. Later Ms. Gao was brutally tortured to death.
  • Jiamusi City Court Tries Falun Gong Practitioners, Lawyer Enters Not Guilty Plea

    On October 18th, the rural court in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, tried Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Wang Lixing and Ms. Li Xiurong. The two practitioners testified in court about why they practised Falun Gong and why they would not give up their faith. Two lawyers defended their not guilty pleas. The practitioners were arrested when they were distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. Ms. Wang and Ms. Li have been held in the detention centre since their arrests.
  • Zhu Yifang, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Sichuan Province, Is Hung up with Handcuffs and Injected with Unknown Drugs

    After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Zhu Yifang was detained several times. She was once hung up with handcuffs for seven days and nights and tortured with "Five Horses Splitting the Body." She was force-fed and injected with unknown drugs. Ms. Zhu says: "Due to long-term brutal persecution, I was severely damaged both physically and mentally. Even now my health is still very bad. I cannot straighten up my back because of pain. My body is swollen, I cannot walk, and I cannot take care of myself on a daily basis. I have lost the ability to work or to live a normal life."
  • Chongqing Police Department Officers Arrest Over a Dozen Falun Gong Practitioners

    Chongqing Police Department officers arrested more than a dozen practitioners and ransacked their homes on the morning of November 16th. As soon as Mr. Zhang Shengquan stepped outside of his home on November 16th, before he could even lock the door, more than a dozen plainclothes police officers attacked him, forcibly dragged him back inside his home and beat him. They ransacked the house and took Mr. Zhang and his wife to the police station. Mr. Zhang's wife was released on November 17th, but Mr. Zhang was detained in the Liziba Detention Centre. Mr. Zhang's family is under surveillance.
  • Steadfast in Falun Gong, Ms. Ma Jun Still Detained in Prison After Ten Years

    In 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Jun was sentenced to ten years in prison. She was detained in Gansu Province Women's Prison, where she still remains. Since July 20th, 1999, Ms. Ma has been arrested and detained many times. She has spent nearly all of the past ten-plus years in prison, detention centres, and brainwashing centres, where she has been tortured. In April 2008, Ms. Ma refused to wear a prison identity badge. Leader of the Ward, An Li, ordered criminal Li Xiaohong to beat Ms. Ma, and taught her how to beat her without leaving bruises. Ms. Ma was beaten until she vomited blood. Afterward she could not straighten her back for months.
  • Ms. Shi Rongxian, Ms. Duan Shuyan, and Ms. Dong Qinglan Arrested in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province

    The police from Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province arrested three practitioners on November 3rd when they were talking to villagers about Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes. They are being held in the county detention centre. The officers threatened them and their families that they would be sent to a forced labour camp if they did not write the three statements to renounce practising Falun Gong.
  • Practitioners in Suizhou, Hubei Province Arrested; Outraged Relatives and Bystanders Stop the Police

    Suzhou City 610 Office agents [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong], along with officers from the Domestic Security Division and from the Police Department, recently arrested several Falun Gong practitioners and held them in a brainwashing facility. Some practitioners' relatives stood up against the police's criminal deeds, successfully stopping some of the attempted arrests. Eight police officers broke into elderly practitioner Mr. Wang Zhiming's home around 8:00 p.m. on November 9th, and arrested him. A group of police officers broke into Mr. Wei Wei's home on the evening of November 12th. They punched and kicked him. When he shouted for help, an officer grabbed his neck and threatened to strangle him if he shouted again. Mr. Wei was taken away.
  • Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners in Hebei Province Women's Prison

    I personally saw the torture of a Falun Gong practitioner in Hebei Province Women's Prison. She refused to cooperate with the prison authorities, and was punished with being forced to sit on a tiny stool every day. She was not allowed to speak and sometimes was not allowed to go to bed until midnight. She was constantly cursed at and beaten. Frequently she would have nightmares and scream in the middle of the night. As a result, she suffered even more brutal beatings. Many times she was dragged by guards into a restroom and brutally beaten. She was also dragged into a lobby, where she was forced to stand for a long time. On more than one occasion, her mouth was taped shut and she was dragged along the ground while completely naked.
  • Details about the Persecution of Deceased Schoolteacher Ms. Huang Yanli

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Yanli was arrested many times by the 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong] of Nantong because she wouldn't give up practising Falun Gong. She was sent to a brainwashing centre, a detention centre, a forced labour camp, and prison. She was brutally abused in Group No. 4 in Judong Forced Labour Camp, where they made her stand for long periods of time, and her calves swelled so badly that they looked thicker than her thighs.Her health deteriorated and she was unable to eat for four months. Ms. Huang passed away on December 15th, 2004. She was only 35 years old.
  • Ni Yanping Sent to Brainwashing Centre Again for Further Persecution

    Practitioner Ms. Ni Yanping was arrested on the morning of August 12th, and taken to a brainwashing centre for the second time. While there, she was brutally beaten by police and criminals. In August 2005, Ni was taken to Longtanshanzhuang Brainwashing Centre and tortured until she was paralysed and could not take care of herself. After being sent home, she practised Falun Gong diligently and eventually recovered.
  • Dr. Shen Yueping from Yunnan Subjected to Persecution Before She Died

    Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Shen Yueping had won many awards in the city and in the province, and had earned a good reputation among patients and colleagues. In 2000 Dr. Shen Yueping went to Tiananmen Square to hold a banner that read, "Falun Gong is good." She was arrested, and sentenced to a three-year prison term. In 2004 Dr. Shen was sentenced to a five-year term in prison. In May 2009 her husband received a phone call from a guard in the Second Women's Prison stating that she was in critical condition. Dr. Shen had been mistreated and was emaciated. She was nothing but skin and bones. Dr. Shen died on July 16th, 2009.
  • Li Jing Inhumanly Tortured at Guangzhou Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Jing was taken away and sentenced to 21 months in a forced labour camp on September 25th, 2010. On October 4th, she was sent to the Guangzhou Women's Forced Labour Camp. After Ms. Li Jing was taken to the Haizhu District Detention Centre, her hands were handcuffed and feet shackled. There were deep marks on both wrists and ankles. Several days after Ms. Li was sent to the Guangzhou Women's Forced Labour Camp, ten people pressed her down and force-fed her every night.
