My Experience in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province
2010-12-08In September 2001, while I was handing out materials about Falun Gong I was arrested. I was sentenced to one year of forced labour in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province. Two employees attempted to brainwash me against Falun Gong. I started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The prison guards yelled at me and I was physically abused. They slapped me on the face and made me stand in a corner. My forehead and back of my head swelled up with lumps. They put me on the death bed and force-fed me twice daily. After I was released, my husband divorced me because the pressure and fear was too much. I was also fired from my job, which made my life even harder. -
Mr. Su Anzhou Lost His Wife and Son to Persecution
2010-12-08Mr. Su Anzhou and his wife Ms. Geng Cuifang began practising Falun Gong in 1997. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Su was sentenced to eight years in prison for his belief. Ms. Geng jumped from the sixth floor of a building to her death. Their son, Su Wei, died from lung cancer because he could not afford to buy medicine after both of his parents had been persecuted. -
Victim of New Brainwashing Campaign Dies at Labour Camp within Days of Arrival
2010-12-08An elderly man from northeast China, who police abducted in September to force him to renounce Falun Gong, died in custody on October 30th, according to a Falun Gong human rights group. On September 10th, 61-year-old Mr. Zhang Qingjun and his wife were abducted by two officers from Shixian police station and taken to a brainwashing facility located at Songlin Nursing Home. Over the following days, dozens of agents from the local Tumen City 6-10 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), Communist Party, police, and neighbourhood committee used various methods in an attempt to force Zhang to “transform,” to give up his practice of Falun Gong. -
Ms. Jin Nu Brutally Tortured and Husband Dies Due to Persecution
2010-12-07Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 2009, police have tortured, harassed, and extorted money from Ms. Jin Nu and her husband. Ms. Jin was handcuffed on a steel chair continuously for more than 12 hours. When she was released from the chair, she was not able to stand up straight. Her husband was persecuted and as a result became paralysed. He was shocked during the process of Ms. Jin's arrest. Since all their money was confiscated by police, he was not able to afford any treatment. He passed away on April 22nd, 2010. -
Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp Extends Ms. Feng Xiaomei's Term
2010-12-07Ms. Feng Xiaomei has been detained for 18 months at Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. Her term has been extended. Ms. Feng's family and friends have tried to appeal her case to various government offices and other higher authorities, but to no avail. It is a common practice by authorities at Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp to arbitrarily extend practitioners' terms in violation of the Chinese constitution. The majority of the practitioners who remain steadfast in their belief are subjected to extended terms. -
Mr. Cai Zhixiong Tortured at Changsha City Brainwashing Centre in Hunan Province
2010-12-07Summer is the busiest time of the year to sell seeds for practitioner Mr. Cai Zhixiong from Hunan Province. However, this summer, he was arrested by officers from the local agriculture bureau and the Yongxing County 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Hunan Province. Mr. Cai was detained and tortured in the brainwashing centre. He also suffered serious economic losses due to missing the busiest part of the season. He recounts his experience in detention: "Chen Ziming often pinched my throat, beat me, and poked me with a bamboo stick. He pushed me against the wall and twisted my arms behind my back. Then, Xu Lijun hit my hip with one of his knees and told me that it was good for me." -
Practitioner Wang Huafen From Huai'an City of Jiangsu Province Suffers Persecution
2010-12-07Ms. Wang Huafen started practising Falun Gong in 1997. She has been repeatedly arrested, detained, and tortured by various methods such as deprivation of sleep, being forced to sit in an iron chair, hanging by handcuffed wrists. In August 2001, Ms. Wang was arrested and taken to a brainwashing centre. She and other practitioners were forced daily to watch TV programmes defaming Falun Gong. The government officials coerced her to write statements to defame Falun Gong in line with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) policy. As she refused, she was deprived of sleep, food and water for six consecutive days. At nights policemen would beat her. In October 2001, she was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. -
Many Practitioners in Li County Arrested; Ms. Peng Donglian Died in Detention
2010-12-06On November 9th, 2010, 12 practitioners in Li County, Changde City, Hunan Province, were arrested. Among them, 58-year-old Ms. Peng Donglian died under mysterious circumstances in the Li County Detention Centre on November 20th. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel claimed that she died from heart disease. Yet Ms. Li had never had heart disease listed anywhere in her medical history. -
A Retired Cadre of Shenyang Bureau of Civil Affairs in Sichuan Province was Persecuted to Death
2010-12-06Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shen Bing, 66, had suffered from liver cirrhosis and could not find a cure. After practising Falun Gong, both his physical and mental health recovered. However, because he refused to give up the practice, he was sent to Deyang Prison. In April 2010, Mr. Shen started having pain in his liver. He told the guards the history of his severe liver cirrhosis prior to practising Falun Gong and requested medical treatment. Due to a lack of timely medical treatment, his condition became worse. Mr. Shen was persecuted until he became critically ill and died on November 22nd, 2010. -
While an Elderly Lady Is Tried, Her Family Members Are Beaten by the Police Outside the Court
2010-12-06An elderly Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Wangxiang was arrested and put on trial. When the trial started, her sister and her sons were denied their rights to enter the courtroom, and were made to sit in the public gallery, thus unable to speak for Ms. Hu. Not only that, outside the court, police suddenly ganged up on Ms. Hu's family members. They kicked and punched them and also shocked them with electric batons. -
What Happened after an Excellent Teacher Got Arrested
2010-12-06Ms. Ma Qin, an excellent teacher from the Development District Experimental School in Pingdu City, has been practising Falun Gong for over five years. After she started practising, all her illnesses disappeared. She also followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, earning her a very high reputation among students and their parents. However, she was arrested by police on August 9th but managed to escape. She says, "The authorities knew that I was a good person, an excellent teacher, but they still tried everything they could think of to persecute me." -
Practitioner Mr. Chi Zhi Died as a Result of Persecution in 2009
2010-12-05In June 2003, when Mr. Chi Zhi was distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution, he was arrested by police and sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. Under tremendous physical and mental stress, he developed liver cancer. Mr. Chi could not work. Because he did not have any income, he could not afford medical treatment. In addition, he was frequently harassed by the local police. Under pressure from the authorities, his relatives could not understand him or offer him aid. As a result, Mr. Chi became more ill and lost weight. In July 2009, he passed away at the age of 27. -
Song Yanzhao Died in 2001 as Result of Persecution at Pingantai Forced Labour Camp in Gansu Province
2010-12-05In the nine years since Mr. Song Yanzhao was persecuted to death at Pingantai Forced Labour Camp, some detailed information deliberately hidden by the labour camp has gradually came to light. Guards incited drug addict inmates to strip the clothes off of Mr. Song and tie him to a beam in the vegetable shed. After beating him for three hours, the inmates would let him down. This torture continued for five days and resulted in two of Mr. Song's ribs being broken. On May 3rd, 2001, he grabbed a bottle of pesticide and drank it out of desperation. (Editor's note: Song Yanzhao's action was a result of the Chinese communist regime's brutal persecution. However, it was not in accordance with Falun Gong's principles that prohibit killing and suicide.) -
The Persecution of an Older Couple in Qiqihar
2010-12-05In December 2004, police surrounded the whole building where another practitioner and I lived. They broke the lock, and several people barged in and pushed me down on the floor, stepping on my face. I was only in my underwear, but they still threw me into a van and drove me to a secret site at Yaohulu Police Farm. I was forced to sit on an iron chair in just my underwear. My hands and feet were shackled. Officer Jiang Chen stepped on and kicked my hands and feet while they were cuffed. On July 20th, 2006, I was sentenced to prison and were sent to Tailai Prison in Qiqihar. In 2007, the prison tried to brainwash all of the Falun Gong practitioners and make us write the three statements to renounce practising Falun Gong. On April 6th, 2008, I was released. Now my wife and I have no fixed place to stay. -
Details about the Persecution of Deceased Schoolteacher Ms. Huang Yanli
2010-12-05In 2002 Ms. Huang Yanli was sent to a detention centre because she made Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. Ms. Huang was sentenced to six years in prison and was sent to Nantong Women's Prison. She was unable to eat for four months, and the prison gave her intravenous solutions often and unknown drugs. She was usually unconscious. When her condition was critical, the prison sent her back to Nantong. Ms. Huang passed away on December 15th, 2004. She was only 35 years old.
