Gross Mistreatment of Practitioners Continues at the Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp

Practitioners in Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp have been forced to do extremely hard labour that is beyond the their physical endurance. They have to load and unload products from the first floor to the second and third floors. They also have to make mobile phone covers and shower curtains. It is said that the shower curtains are to be exported overseas. Some practitioners sort chopsticks and pick out cotton seeds (the seeds are for the Academy of Hebei Province Agricultural Science and the Academy of Shijiazhuang City Agricultural Science), paste labels onto the bottles of chemical fertilizers and instant noodles and make lanterns. -
Husband Almost Loses Eyesight after Eight Years in Prison--Wife Arrested Again

On September 8th, 2009, the police arrested Ms. Zhang Ying at her in-law's home. When her in-law asked the police why they were arresting her and ransacking their home, and if they had any legal justification, one of the police officers answered, "We are arresting her for interrogation and investigation. The proof will be found eventually." This was her fourth arrest. Ms. Zhang's husband, was sentenced to ten years in prison and had almost lost his eyesight after eight years of imprisonment at the Shanghai Lanqiao Prison. -
Torture Methods "Cross" and "Death Bed" Used at Weifang Detention Centre
2009-10-04Falun Gong practitioners Li Xiufen and Gao Guizhen were arrested in August 2009 and then detained at the Weifang Detention Centre. They were brutally tortured with torture methods called the "cross" and the "death bed" at the detention centre. These torture methods are described as a living hell. Normally, if a person were subjected to such torture for even one day, that person would become paralysed. Nonetheless, Ms. Li Xiufen and Ms. Gao Guizhen were tied to these torture tools for 36 hours. -
The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Li Yuqui and His Family
2009-10-04Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Yuqui, 56, was detained at a police station in Beijing in 2001, where the agents tortured him severely. He recounts: "I refused to tell them where I was from. The police took off my shoes and seven police officers tortured me. They handcuffed me backwards, hung me in the air by the handcuffs, and used several electric batons to simultaneously shock me on my back and on the soles of my feet. Then they lowered me to the floor, shackled me and shocked my back and the soles of my feet again. I screamed from the pain and my feet twitched and scraped between the shackles and the concrete floor, peeling off skin on my toes and exposing my bones." -
The Persecution and Death of Mr. Liu Erzeng, from Pingshan County, Hebei Province
2009-10-03Mr. Liu Erzeng, a Falun Gong practitioner from Hebei Province, was arrested, detained, and tortured on multiple occasions. When Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp officials refused to admit Mr. Liu, Xiao Suilong, an officer from the Pingshan County Police Station forced the camp to take him. Mr. Liu was released from the labour camp after he became extremely weak, and he died four months later on September 10th, 2002. He was only 40 years old. -
Elementary School teacher Persecuted to Death at Tianshui Prison in Gansu Province
2009-10-03Mr. Liu Zhirong was a teacher at Tuanjie Elementary School in Qingyang City, Gansu Province. At the end of October 2002, he was sentenced 15 years in prison by the Chengguan District Court in Lanzhou City for practising Falun Gong. On December 14th, 2005, he was transferred from Dingxi Prison to Tianshui Prison. One day, a few prisoners who were told to watch Mr. Liu carried him to the water supply room after beating him brutally. They removed his clothes and used the toilet cleaning pipe to douse him with water. This was in January, and it was extremely painful to be soaked in freezing water. Mr. Liu also did not eat or sleep well besides being brutally tortured. By January 10th, 2006, less than one month after the transfer, he had been persecuted to death. The guards cremated his body without permission from his family. -
Seven Falun Gong Practitioners from Shulan City Recount Their Persecution Experiences
2009-10-03My name is Meng Xiangfa, and I am 57 years old. In 2002, police arrested me and my wife because we practise Falun Gong. I was sent to Chaoyanggou Labour Camp in Changchun City, where I was grossly abused for two years. While at the labour camp, I wasn't allowed to speak with other practitioners. I had to sit on a small stool more than 14 hours daily and had to do intensive hard labour. They often incited criminals to beat and verbally abuse practitioners. They tried to "reform" us by depriving us of sleep. The officials used all kinds of tactics to torture us to achieve their goals, frequently using electric batons to shock us, beating and kicking us, depriving us of sleep, and extending our terms. -
Mr. Wang Dejun and His Wife Arrested in Gaomi City, Shandong Province
2009-10-03Mr. Wang Dejun and Mrs. Wang Xianglan are husband and wife. On August 31st, 2009, when their daughter left for school, officers from Jiangzhuang, hid near their home and arrested this couple. They are detained in the Gaomi Detention Centre and are being tortured. This couple has been persecuted for many years just because they believe in Falun Gong. Ms. Wang Xianglan was sentenced to two years of forced labour. -
Engineer Mr. Tang Yi Dies in Chongqing as a Result of Persecution
2009-10-02On May 2nd, 2008, Mr. Tang Yi was intercepted by police while taking a train. The police searched his bag and found a copy of the Falun Gong book. He was sentenced to two years of forced labour in the Xishanping Forced Labour Camp in Chongqing City. Mr. Tang started a hunger strike on May 2nd, 2008, and refused to wear a name tag, a prison uniform, or undergo force feeding through a tube. He had already been brutally persecuted for a long time before, and became extremely weak and emaciated, with his weight dropping from 175 lbs. to about 110 lbs. In November 2008, the camp administration notified his family to pick him up since they were afraid to take responsibility for his life. Mr. Tang died on the morning of September 22nd, 2009. -
Mr. Feng Gang Dies in Custody
2009-10-02On July 4th, 2009 at around noon, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Feng Gang, his wife Ms. Wang Juan, and twelve others were arrested at the home of practitioner Ms. Shi Guixiang. They were detained at the Dalian Detention Centre. Police officer Li Hongqiao interrogated Mr. Feng repeatedly during his detention. On August 10th, Mr. Feng was in a life-threatening condition. According to the hospital examination, Mr. Feng's gallbladder was swollen to the size of two fists. He could not eat or drink in case the gallbladder might explode. On August 12th, Mr. Feng's family members learned that he was home, so they went to visit him the next day. When they knocked on the door nobody answered. Mr. Feng had disappeared again. On September 16th, Mr. Feng's family reported him missing to the Fuguo Street Police Station. Officers told them Mr. Feng had died on August 14th. -
After Being Detained Twice, Li Yufen Became Homeless to Avoid Further Persecution
2009-10-02Because Ms. Li Yufen refuses to give up her belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," she has been persecuted by the members of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and police in Zuoqi. As a result of the persecution, her family has been torn apart. On April 6th, 2006, police waited at the door of Li Yufen's home and arrested her. Without giving any reason, they took her directly to the detention centre. They trumped up some charges and sentenced her to two years in a labour camp. In the labour camp, Li Yufen was detained in isolation with many drug dealer inmates, and inmates watched her around the clock. They took turns bombarding her with lies that attacked Falun Gong. They forced her to watch videos denouncing Falun Gong and used every means to try to force her to give up her belief. They also forced her to do hard labour for more than ten hours a day. -
Ms. Yang Songli from Chongqing Arrested, Son Beaten
2009-10-02On September 17th, 2009, police charged into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Songli to arrest her. Her son Gao Yang leaped up to protest and protect his mother. However, Domestic Security police officer Chen Xiaodong beat him to the ground, and policeman Liang Shibin forced his knee into Gao Yang's face. He then stomped on his face, wearing shoes, while continually cursing at him. I was among the crowd that witnessed the event and it broke my heart to see a young man of 20 being beaten to the ground like that. Gao Yang was forcefully taken away. -
Practitioners Tortured at Shijiazhuang Women's Labour Camp
2009-10-01Many Falun Gong practitioners are being detained in Division 4 of Shijiazhuang Labour Camp, Hebei Province. In order to force practitioners give up their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the guards there brutally torture and humiliate practitioners. As a consequence, some practitioners are force-fed, and they vomit blood. Five practitioners were deprived of access to the toilet and were not allowed to interact with other people. They had to urinate and defecate in the small, dark and damp cell. Police guards did not allow them to wash or change their clothing. Every day they were handcuffed and forced to sit on small stools. -
Ms. Zhou Liying Tortured in Hohhot Women's Forced Labour Camp
2009-10-01On September 2nd, 2007, policen arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Liying. Later she was sentenced to two years of forced labour and now she is still detained in Hohhot Women's Forced Labour Camp. In the labour camp, as she refused to be "transformed", she suffered physical punishments numerous times. Once she shouted "Falun Gong is good" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good", and the guards took turns attacking her. She was not allowed to sleep for three consecutive days and not allowed to use the toilet for thirteen hours. Once the guards ordered her to stand for eight consecutive days and the guards forced her to labour in the glove workshop for 15 hours a day. -
Crimes Committed by Chang Zhanglin, a Policeman from Linzhou City, Henan Province
2009-10-01On March 31st, 2009, Chang Zhanglin, a 610 Office policeman, arrested eleven Falun Gong practitioners at Hongqi Square in Linzhou City, Henan Province. For years, Chang Zhanglin has persecuted local practitioners. He is notorious for making unjust arrests. In July 2000, Chang Zhanglin arrested practitioners Zhang Tianshun and Wang Jianbin; Zhang Tainshun was imprisoned for 50 days and Wang Jianbin for 40 days. During the opening of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Sixteenth National Party Congress, both practitioners were arrested again, and taken to a 610 Office brainwashing unit in Linxhou City.
