Fushun Police Ruthlessly Torture Mr. Sun Hongchang

On March 28th, 2006, Mr. Sun Hongchang was arrested by police. At the police station one agent used electric batons to shock Mr. Sun's genitals after other policemen had beaten Mr. Sun for an hour. They then pummelled Mr. Sun's private parts with their fists. They also used both hands to force one of Mr. Sun's legs above his head, a torture method called "splitting hip." Victims subjected to such extreme physical agony can easily become handicapped. Each time the abuse lasted one or two hours. It was so painful that Mr. Sun fainted many times. Residents near the police station could hear Mr. Sun's agonized painful screams. They continued until 5:00 a.m. the next morning. -
Retired Teacher Ms. Wang Xiulan from Dalian City Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
2009-03-16Ms. Wang Xiulan from Jinzhou District, Dalian City was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Ganjingzi District Court in Dalian City. On the morning of April 5th, 2008, Ms. Wang was arrested by police officers for telling people the truth about Falun Gong. She was later taken to the Yaojia Detention Centre in Dalian City. While Ms. Wang was at the centre, police officers ransacked her home and confiscated some of her personal property, including a copy of the Falun Gong book, Zhuan Falun. The police did not inform Ms. Wang's family that they had arrested her, nor did they tell the family about her upcoming court trial. Everything that the officers did was carried out in secret. -
A Call to Help Rescue My Wife, Zhu Luoxin

Zhu Luoxin, 43 years old, was arrested by police in 2001 when she was transporting Falun Gong materials. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison. She was kept locked in a small cell for two years and ten months. She was also tortured by other prisoners at the guards' instigation. She was forced to work intensively every day without pay to make cheap products for export. -
How My Happy Childhood Turned Miserable
2009-03-15I am a young Falun Gong practitioner from Qiqihar. In 1999, the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun Gong. I was 9 at that time. I was afraid. Later my dad was sentenced to forced labour and imprisoned at the Fuyu Forced Labour Camp. He was put through brainwashing sessions and suffered brutal torture. I felt very lonely and miserable. I asked myself again and again why such a good practice was slandered. In 2002 my dad was imprisoned again and I was left alone and had no one to depend on. At school, the director treated me very rudely. He pushed my chest and yelled at me. Other students frequently insulted me and scratched my face shouting at me, "He practises Falun Gong." -
Jinzhou Prison Authorities Plan to Cremate the Remains of Mr. Zhang Litian to Avoid Being Held Responsible for His Death
2009-03-15In November 2008, Mr. Zhang Litian was beaten to death by the prison guards and two prisoners in Jinzhou Prison, Liaoning Province. This is the third death of a Falun Gong practitioner at the same prison. After the death of Mr. Zhang, the prison fabricated a public statement that Mr. Zhang had died of a heart attack. The family of the victim asked to have legal medical experts in another city conduct an autopsy, but the prison secretly moved the victim's body to an unknown place from the crematorium. They turned down the family's request and transferred the prisoners who had assisted in the fatal beating, to another location. After the case was revealed to the international media, the two prisoners were transferred back to Jinzhou. Prison officials refused to issue a death certificate to the victim's family. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Subjected to Forced Labour in Tianshui Prison, Tianshui City, Gansu Province
2009-03-15The "Anti-Cult" Section is unique to Tianshui Prison. It is in this section that Falun Gong practitioners are relentlessly abused. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Zhirong was beaten to death here and this was witnessed by some inmates. A prison guard made a direct kick to one of Mr. Liu's ears and he died immediately. However, prison officials announced that Mr. Liu had committed suicide. Practitioner Xu Feng has been held in solitary confinement under close monitoring for five years. Prison officials lied, saying that Mr. Xu had some mental problems, but people around him knew that he was completely normal. -
Brother Persecuted to Death and Sister Sentenced to Prison
2009-03-14Ms. Zou Lizhi and Mr. Zou Zhongyou, her younger brother, both practitioners, continued their Falun Gong practice despite the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong that began on July 20th, 1999. They were arrested, detained, and sentenced to forced labour and jail several times. Zou Zhongyou was persecuted to death in the Jinzhou City Forced Labour Camp two years ago. He was only thirty-five years-old. His sister, Zou Lizhi, was sentenced to nine months in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. On February 12th of this year, the Yi County Court sentenced her to five years in jail. She is now in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. -
Disabled Woman Sent to Jiangxi Province Forced Labour Camp
2009-03-14Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhu Ruixia can't walk properly because half the sole of her right foot was cut off. After she had been detained for a month, it was even harder for her to walk, yet she was still sentenced to two years in a labour camp by the Balihu Public Security Sub-bureau. She is currently detained at Jiangxi Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. On November 7th, 2008, forcefully dragged practitioner Zhu Ruixia to a police van. Because so much force was used, Zhu Ruixia's thigh was injured when being caught at the door. -
Ms. Lu Fengying Dies as a Result of the Heightened Persecution Surrounding the Olympic Games
2009-03-14Ms. Lu Fengying was a Falun Gong practitioner in Sichuan Province. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, CCP agents in Dalin Town have tried to force every local practitioner to write statements stating that they will give up Falun Gong. Ms. Lu, who once went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, was monitored closely. Her home was searched and her Falun Gong books and leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong were seized. Under the persecution, Ms. Lu became very confused. She told everyone she met, "I am not allowed to practise the exercises. What should I do?" She passed away in December 2008 while facing false charges. -
Three Practitioners Arrested in Kunming City, Yunnan Province
2009-03-14On January 1st, 2009, Mr. Zhang Liang was arrested for distributing Falun Gong fliers in the Ma Street Building Supplies Market in Kunming City. He was taken to the police station and handcuffed behind his back to a metal door until 11:00 a.m. on the second day. Mr. Zhang's hands and wrists swelled up badly when the officer released the handcuffs after repeated requests from Mr. Zhang's family. On January 3rd, Mr. Zhang was taken to the Xishan District Detention Centre. He was sentenced to two years of forced labour and transferred to the Yunnan Province Secondary Forced Labour Camp on February 4th. -
Mr. Xu Dawei Dies after Suffering Eight Years of Abuse in Four Prisons
2009-03-13On February 3rd, 2009, Mr. Xu Dawei's eight-year imprisonment term was due to end. The authorities at Dongling Prison in Shenyang City arranged for the local police station to pick him up for further mistreatment. His grieving and indignant family members arrived at the prison and argued with the authorities. Finally, they were allowed to pick up Mr. Xu. However, they found out that due to the years of abuse, he was extremely thin and suffering from a mental disorder. Compared to what they saw last year, he was a completely different person. Mr. Xu suffered eight years of abuse in four prisons. Within two weeks of being released from Dongling Prison, he passed away on February 16th, 2009. -
Ms. Chen Yufang and Ms. Liu Lichun Cruelly Tortured for Their Belief
2009-03-13Practitioner Ms. Chen Yufang was arrested while she was selling vegetables in September 2007. She was sent to Sanshui Women's Forced Labour Camp where she is being tortured. In 2000 Ms. Chen Yufang and another practitioner Ms. Liu Lichun were arrested. The police demanded the practitioners to say slanderous words about the founder of Falun Gong. However, they refused and the police then beat them with the bamboo strips so hard that several bamboo strips broke. Several policemen pushed Ms. Chen and Ms. Liu to the ground, stepped on their hands, feet and body and pinched their noses. They used a water cannon to blast water down both women's mouths. As a result Ms. Chen lost a tooth. -
Mr. He Fuxing Arrested and Beaten While Walking Along a Road
2009-03-13At 9:00 p.m. on February 11th, 2009, Mr. He Fuxing, a resident of Nongfeng Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, was walking along a road with his motorcycle when a police vehicle suddenly stopped within a few yards of him. Police officers jumped out of the vehicle; ran towards Mr. He, and immediately started beating him without any explanation. After punching and kicking him for a while, they accused him of stealing the motorcycle he had in his possession. After the officers handcuffed Mr. He, they searched his saddlebag and found some Falun Gong fliers. An officer said, "He is a Falun Gong practitioner. If he is beaten to death, no one will be punished. Beat him!" -
Mr. Liang Jianguo and His Wife Ms. Shen Luoling Sentenced to Forced Labour
2009-03-13Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liang Jianguo was arrested on August 2nd, 2008. His daughter, who is not a practitioner, was with him. She too was arrested, but was released 15 days later. Mr. Liang was sentenced to 4 years in prison, and is jailed at the Wangling Prison in You County, Hunan Province. Mr. Liang's wife, Ms. Shen was arrested in Yiyang City on August 5th, 2008. She was sentenced to a year of forced labour, and is imprisoned at the notorious Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp. -
Recent Cruel Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners in Tumuji Forced Labour Camp, Inner Mongolia
2009-03-12On January 23rd, 2009, practitioner Mr. Wang Zhanqing was summoned by section head Li Shaomin for a so-called "conversation." After Wang Zhanqing explained the facts of Falun Gong to him Li Shaomin shocked him with an electric baton. Wang Zhanqing took away the baton, and Huang Zigang beat him with a rubber club. Later Li Xinbao used handcuffs to restrain Mr. Wang. They shocked him with two electric batons and beat him with a rubber club. His back and buttocks were beaten black and purple. His head and many parts of his body were covered with burn marks from being shocked with the electric batons. Even getting in and out of bed became very difficult, and Wang Zhanqing had to sleep face-down.
