High School Teacher Miao Yuhuan Detained in Dalian City

On December 4th, 2008, police violently arrested Ms. Miao Yuhuan, 36, at the high school where she is a teacher. Miao is detained in Yaojia Detention Centre. Her two year-old daughter has been taken to her grandmother's house. The girl's two grandmothers have taken her to Liangjiadian Police Station every day to ask them to release her mother. -
Witnessing Ms. Tian Huiying's So-called "Suicide Attempt" in the Sanshui Women's Forced Labour Camp

Ms. Tian Huiying was killed in a so-called "suicide attempt" in July 2005 as claimed by the Sanshui Women's Forced Labour Camp. She was 50 years old. I witnessed the entire process of her being persecuted. A car drove out of the cafeteria in the labour camp and struck Ms. Tian Huiying. The wheels of the car drove over her legs and feet. She immediately lost consciousness. Later on, police said that Ms. Tian had run towards the car to commit suicide and that the people who were monitoring her could not stop her. In fact, there were no guards at the scene. Moreover, the two criminals who were monitoring Ms. Tian were very strong young men. The car hit her on purpose. -
Ms. Li Yanhui from Zhoukou City, Henan Province, Sentenced to Four Years of Detention
2009-01-07Ms. Li Yanhui, who worked in a Chinese medicine hospital in Zhoukou City, Henan Province, was recently sentenced to four years in the city detention centre by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. Her second trial will be held soon. Ms. Li has been on a hunger strike for more than 10 days. The police have been inserting a tube into her stomach to cruelly force-feed her. She is very weak and cannot walk without leaning against the walls. -
Mr. Yan Shoulin Arrested for Defending Practitioners in Court
2009-01-07On December 2nd, 2008, practitioners Mr. Yan Shoulin, Ms. Yang Chunmei, and her younger brother Yang Bin from Dengshahe Town, Jinzhou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, were violently arrested by police. Mr. Yan Shoulin had defended another practitioner, Ms. Gu Li, in court in August 2008. Ms. Gu was arrested because she had been people the facts about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. After the trial, Mr. Yan Shoulin was frequently followed until his arrest. -
After Extorting Thousands of Yuan from Family Members, Police in Yushu City Refuse to Release a 60-Year-Old Practitioner
2009-01-06On November 25th, when Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Yujie, almost 60 years old, was talking with an acquaintance in front of the No. 2 High School, three police arrested her. They took her to the domestic security unit and then to a detention centre. Then they ransacked her home. Ms. Zhang's family is not wealthy, but to gain her release and stop the police from taking her to a forced labour camp, they handed over 6,000 yuan. The domestic security unit head, Zhang Deqing, pocketed 5,000 yuan. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Xu Lindi Dies After Being Persecuted by 610 Office in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province
2009-01-06After Ms. Xu Lindi retired, both she and her husband suffered from many illnesses. When they started to practise Falun Gong, both of them recovered from their poor health. However, after the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, they were severely persecuted. Their home was searched five times and their property was confiscated. Ms. Xu's husband was arrested and detained five times, for 34 days the fifth time. The Jiangbei District Police Department forced Ms. Xu to pay 15,000 yuan for her husband's release. In the brainwashing centre, Ms. Xu was interrogated, threatened and deprived of sleep. She was hurt both physically and mentally. She passed away on July 21st, 2004. -
The 610 Office Persecutes Older Practitioner Wang Guifeng in Weihai City
2009-01-06Retired Ms. Wang Guifeng is a Falun Gong practitioner living in Weihai City. On December 9th, 2008, Ms. Wang was arrested as she went out to pay her electricity bill. Since then, she has been detained at the Weihai Detention Centre. Previously in March 2005, Ms. Wang was arrested again by Lpolice while she was walking and was sent to a labour camp for three years. During that period of time, she was severely tortured. -
Authorities in Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province, Entrap Falun Gong Practitioners
2009-01-06On June 30th, police arrested Ms. Wu Fenghua and took her to a brainwashing class. Fu Yanchun threatened: "If you do not write the 'three statements,' I will torture you to death and then throw you into a river. This is a desolate place away from the town and nobody knows it! I will inject you with drugs which will make you become muddleheaded and tell me everything! I can make the school expel your daughter! I can demand one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand yuan from your family!" After that, he beat her up, put a pen into Ms. Wu's hand and tried to force her to write the three statements. After this failed, he forced Ms. Wu to sit on an iron chair, handcuffed her hands to the chair and forced her to squat down. He tortured her this way for the whole night. -
A 60-year-old Woman Is Imprisoned Again after Being Persecuted Many Times
2009-01-05Because of her faith in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, an elderly woman was restrained in handcuffs for 14 days in the Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province. After that, a guard again restrained her, using the method "Big handcuff behind the back." While she was enduring unbearable pain, the guard stomped on her arms. The elderly woman passed out with a scream, the guards' dirty and offensive shouting and swearing sounding in her ears. For the "Big handcuff behind the back" torture, one hand is pulled backwards over the shoulder while the other hand is pulled behind the back and up to meet the first hand. The hands are then cuffed together on the beam of an iron bed. The person's body slides downward and the weight of the whole body is on the two hands. After only a little while, the person's hair and clothing are wet with sweat. -
Persecution Suffered by Mr. Zhao Bailiang's Family in Hailin City
2009-01-05On June 30th, 2008, police arrested Mr. Zhao Bailiang. Mr. Zhao, 34 years old and a Falun Gong practitioner. Mr. Zhao was arrested four days after his wife gave birth to their son. After arresting Mr. Zhao, the police went to the home of Mr. Zhao's mother-in-law, and took away the money sent by relatives to cover the expenses for Zhao's wife's impending hospital stay. The police interrogated all of the relatives who went to Zhao's home until 9 p.m. that night. Eventually the police arrested Mrs. Zhang Yuhua and two other people. The next day, police arrested Mr. Zhao Bailiang's father, his younger brother, and Mr. Zhao Baichang's wife, who was six months pregnant. -
Elderly Ms. Zhou Fengxiu Dies under Long Term Persecution in Hunan Province
2009-01-05Ms. Zhou Fengxiu, 70, lived in Hunan Province. Her husband died from cancer 15 years ago. She became depressed and very sick and weak. After she started cultivating Falun Gong in 1998, her sicknesses and pain went away. She felt gratitude to Falun Gong for saving her. After the persecution began in 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong, and she was arrested and detained many times. Police officers brutally beat her and often broke into her home and took her Falun Gong books. On the afternoon of October 28th, 2008, five police stormed into her home again and took her Falun Gong books, despite her protests. Deeply hurt by the police actions, Ms. Zhou was sick for several months. Her condition worsened quickly, and she died a little over twenty days later. -
Ms. Li Dan Died under Persecution Two Years Ago in Liaoning Province
2009-01-05Ms. Li Dan was a music teacher and received merit many times. She began cultivating in Falun Gong in 1996 because she had a weak and ill body, and her sicknesses soon disappeared. After July 20th, 1999, Ms. Li Dan went to Beijing to appeal and defended Falun Gong according to her personal experiences. She was arrested and brutally beaten multiple times. In 2006, Ms. Li Dan was arrested again. She was tortured to the degree of deformity. She was rescued from detention, but she was already dying. Her fellow practitioners took turns taking care of her in the hospital, but she died soon after returning home because of the severity of the torture. -
Mr. Song Jianguo from Hebei Province Sent to Inner Mongolia Forced Labour Camp
2009-01-04Mr. Song Jianguo, a Falun Gong practitioner, was reported to police on September 19th, 2007, when he was working in Beijing. Police arrested him and took him to Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing. He was persecuted there for several months. On January 26th, 2008, he and six other practitioners were secretly transferred to Wuyuan Forced Labour Camp in Inner Mongolia. On March 6th, guards brutally tortured Mr. Song Jianguo. They bound him with ropes, forced him to kneel, severely beat him, and shocked every part of him with six electric batons. His whole body was bruised with rope scars. His ribs and feet were black and blue. His abdomen and neck were burned by the electric batons. -
Crimes Committed at the Xian Worker's Sanatorium
2009-01-04Chinese Communist Party members force practitioners to watch videos and read books that defame Falun Gong, write statements of "transformation," and conduct continual mental torture. They lock practitioners in small solitary cells, deprive them of sleep, subject them to exposure to high intensity light, threaten them, bombard them with propaganda, physically assault them, and put debilitating psychotropic drugs into their food. One male practitioner in his 20's became unable to walk after being persecuted. The authorities force practitioners to pay for the expenses incurred during persecution. Some practitioners' relatives were extorted of huge amounts of money in exchange for the practitioners' release. -
Mr. Xie Wutang in Serious Condition in Wuling Prison, Changde City, Hunan Province
2009-01-04On July 14th, 2007, police barged into the home of 68-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xie Wutang and arrested him. From his arrest to his trial to his prison sentence, no legal procedures were followed. Mr. Xie is now being detained in Wuling Prison. Over the past few days Mr. Xie's health has deteriorated. In the Changsha City Detention Centre he was persecuted until he developed tuberculosis. Recently his feet have began to swell, and he has terrible pain in his hips. According to Chinese law, people in this condition cannot be kept in jail, and how much more so for someone nearing 70?
