"Re-Education Centre" in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province Administers Unknown Drugs to Ms. Zhou Shanhui

Ms. Zhou Shanhui, 61, has been arrested numerous times for practising Falun Gong by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. On May 24th, 2008, they arrested her again and ransacked her home, confiscating Falun Gong books, and valuable items. One officer hit her over the head with a broom so hard that it broke the broom. At a detention centre Ms. Zhou went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The guards tied her to a chair with steel wire and force-fed her. The wire was so tight that they cut into her flesh, causing her intense pain and anguish. Later Ms. Zhou was taken to the Chengdu City "re-education centre." She went on another hunger strike and was force-fed a salty, contaminated solution and her entire body started aching immediately. The pain lasted all night and became so intense that she rolled around on the bed. -
Jixi City Court Sentences Jiang Yabin to Jail Term
2008-11-01Mr. Jiang Yabin is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jixi City of Heilongjiang Province. On October 13th, 2008, when several of his family members went to the city courthouse to appeal for his release and inform the officials about his innocence, the criminal court head Li Jiangang rejected their request. He told them, "Jiang Yabin has been sentenced to three years in jail. The sentence cannot be overturned." Mr. Jiang's family asked, "When was he sentenced? Why were we not informed?" Li told them that the sentence was issued on October 9th and that they should go to the intermediate court if they wanted to appeal. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Cruelly Tortured at the Jilin Province Prison
2008-10-31Mr. Yang Guang, a 56-year-old practitioner, was detained at the Jilin Province Prison for eight years, and subjected to all sorts of inhuman treatment, resulting in his being in critical condition many times. He was incontinent, suffered muscular atrophy, and was skeleton-like. His legs were crippled and his toes were rotten and deformed. Yang Guang has gone on hunger strike several times to protest against the persecution. He was eventually unable to walk and suffered from whole-body oedema and was unable to eat, yet the prison authorities still refused to release him for medical treatment. Around August 8th, 2008, Mr. Yang Guang was dying. The prison administration took him to the Jilin Province Railway Hospital, but forbade his family from seeing him. He died on August 25th, 2008. -
Mr. Hua Yuliang Detained in a Brainwashing Centre After Being Abused in a Labour Camp
2008-10-31Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hua Yuliang was not released after serving his full term in a labour camp. His release date was supposed to have been August 17th, 2008. Instead, he has been transferred to the Weifang Brainwashing Centre. When he was detained in a labour camp the second time for more than a month, he was seriously injured and his blood pressure went up to 180. The head of the Brainwashing Centre Fu Jinbin harbours a lot of hatred toward Falun Gong practitioners. One time he shouted, "If you don't give up your belief, I will detain you here until you die." -
Practitioner from the Countryside in Hebei Province Recounts the Persecution She Has Experienced
2008-10-31In January 2001, several practitioners and I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. As soon as we arrived in Tiananmen Square we were arrested. It turned out that the Bailong police found out we were missing and followed us all the way to Beijing. 610 Office head Liang Min shouted, "Throw her into the trunk. After we get home, beat her like you are beating cattle." We were detained for three months and sent to a labour camp for a year. While there, they tortured us very badly. In order to force us to give up Falun Gong, they made us stand facing the wall for a long time. They also forced us to stay in a half-squatting posture with our arms around our bodies. The torture went on 24 hours a day. -
Ms. Zhao Shuyun from Inner Mongolian Detained in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2008-10-31Ms. Zhao Shuyun is 50 years old. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, she was dismissed from her job and arrested several times. She is currently detained in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Previously in Masanjia Camp she was fixed onto the "tiger bench" nearly every day. Beatings and cursing by the guards were commonplace. Since Ms. Zhao refused to sign any documents giving up her belief, her term was extended for three months. During this period, she was tortured with the tiger bench each day. -
Crimes Observed at the Fangqiang Forced Labour Camp in Jiangsu Province
2008-10-30Local 610 Office agents arrested me without a warrant and took me to a detention centre. They held a covert trial on June 16th, 2000 and charged me with "sabotaging the administration of state law." I declined the services of the court-appointed lawyer and defended myself. I stated, "I am a good person, living simply according to Falun Gong principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. I have broken no law." The verdict was issued on September 28th, 2000, but the court officials waited until December 12th, 2000 to announce it. First, the judge said no criminal conviction would be filed against me, but then the police declared I had been sentenced to two years of forced labour. -
Nurse He Xianggu is Injected with Harmful Drugs at Hunan Mental Hospital Because She Practises Falun Gong

On July 10th, 2008, Hunan Province Women and Children's Hospital (WCH) officials took Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Xianggu, a nurse employed at the hospital, to the Hunan Brain Hospital's Psychiatric Division, where she has been held for more than three months. Since October 10th, 2008, staff members at the psychiatric hospital have violently injected her with drugs that damage the central nervous system. Ms. He Xianggu didn't take any food after the forced injection. Her current condition is grave cause for concern. -
Chen Zixiu's Family Members Are Still Being Persecuted
2008-10-30On April 20th, 2000, the Wall Street Journal posted on its front page a lengthy article entitled "Practising Falun Gong Was a Right, Ms. Chen Said, Up to Her Last Day". The article was about Ms. Chen Zixiu, a Falun Gong practitioner from Weifang, Shandong province who was persecuted to death by the local authorities. This report attracted international attention and the journalist, Ian Johnson, received a Pulitzer Prize for it. Over the past nine years, Chen Zixiu's family members have also been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. Chen Zixiu's daughter, Zhang Xueling, was given three years of forced labour without trial; Chen Zixiu's sister and brother-in-law have been repeatedly abducted and sent to labour camps. -
Elderly Mr. Pang Zhongchun Dies after Years of Torture
2008-10-3068-year-old Mr. Pang Zhongchun died on September 30th, 2008 in Wendeng City, Shandong Province. He had been arrested nine times by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), simply because he practised Falun Gong. He spent two years in a forced labour camp. Pang Zhongchun wasn't released until February 2002. However, by this time he had lost his memory due to long, severe torture. He could no longer remember Falun Gong or how to do the exercises. His health condition became worse and worse until a year ago, when he totally lost his speech. It is believed he was severely injured by the drugs administered by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. -
Pingshan 610 Office Personnel Persecute Mr. Liang Zhifang
2008-10-29Mr. Liang Zhifang is from Hebei Province. Because he practises Falun Gong and follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, he was brutally tortured by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel at a brainwashing centre. In the brainwashing centre, Mr. Liang had no personal freedom, not even to use the toilet. In order to reach their goal for the number of practitioners "transformed," the 610 Office threatens, entices, and deceives practitioners' families and relatives. They fabricated a series of situations designed to result in family members beating family members. Mr. Liang Zhifang's brother and sister-in-law were deceived and beat him once. -
Husband and Wife Mr. Xin Hongyuan and Ms. Wei Yuhong Arrested and Persecuted for Nearly Six Months
2008-10-29Mr. Xin Hongyuan and Ms. Wei Yuhong, his wife, are Falun Gong practitioners. They were arrested on May 24th, 2008. Mr. Xin and Ms. Wei were subjected to six hours of brutal torture at the local police station. All ten of Mr. Xin's fingers were pierced with needles and burned with a cigarette. He was beaten with an electric baton and forced to sign a forged confession. Ms. Wei's screams of agony were heard throughout the entire police station. When she was transferred to Tiexi Detention Centre, cuts and bruises were found all over her body during the physical examination. Officer Wang at the Tiexi Police Station said during the torture session, "This is how it is now. In the past, I would have tortured you to death." -
Practitioners from Hongxing Airplane Manufacturing Company in Shijiazhuang City Subjected to Persecution
2008-10-29On July 8th, 2008, Mr. Liu Rongfa, in his sixties, and his wife, Ms. Yin Yanxin, husband and wife were arrested and police ransacked their home. They were first detained at the Shijiazhuang Administrative Detention Centre and then, after more than ten days, Liu Rongfa was taken to a forced labour camp. He was tortured and subjected to physical and mental harm. His blood pressure shot up, and the forced labour camp staff notified his family and told them to post bail for medical treatment. They have yet to release him. Yin Yanxin was transferred to the Shijiazhuang City Women's Prison and denied family visitation. Her situation is unknown. -
Reports of Persecution at the Second Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2008-10-29The Second Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province uses brutal and inhumane methods to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. One of them is the use of psychotropic drugs in order to make practitioners suffer mental collapses and force them to renounce Falun Gong. Another inhumane method used at the labour camp is adding poison to practitioners' food so that they are unable to sleep, have difficulty with bowel movement/urination, and have swelling in their feet, making them unable to walk. -
Renowned Chinese Oil Painter Mr. Fan Yiming Imprisoned for Practising Falun Gong

Before the Olympics, the Chinese Communist regime used the Games as an excuse to arrest Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale. In mid-July 2008, Beijing police arrested renowned oil painter Mr. Fan Yiming and sentenced him to two years of forced labour. Mr. Fan's artwork has been exhibited in China and abroad, with many famous people in Europe and America purchasing his art.
