68 Year Old Ms. Li Yulan of Jiangxi Province Died in 2001 Due to Torture-Related Ilnesses

Ms. Li Yulan, was 68 years old from Jiangxi Province. She was detained in 2000 for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials and sent to a detention centre, where she suffered inhuman tortures and soon developed illnesses due to the torture. The detention centre did not send her to the forced labour camp hospital until the detainees in her cell thought that she was at the brink of death. The rescue effort of the hospital was in vain, so the detention centre sent her back home. She died in 2001, the exact date is unknown. -
Deceit and Murder in Jilin Prison
2005-01-07Jilin Prison has the so-called "Nude Area," where inmates who cannot take care of themselves and a practitioner from Changchun, Yang Guang, who was tortured and disabled because of his belief in Falun Dafa, are kept. They are of no value to the prison and receive terrible food because they can no longer work. Their sleeping space is even smaller. Since they cannot take care of themselves, they are kept naked all year round and live in their excrement. They have fleas and scabies and some infectious diseases are spreading among them. The jailors only enter to check on them about once a week. -
Practitioner Mr Duan Xinshu from Hebei Province Dies as a Result of Torture
2005-01-07Practitioner Duan Xinshu was from the Handan area of Hebei Province. On September 25, 2003, the Handan 610 Office staff abducted him and sent to a brainwashing class. Due to the long-term torture, Duan Xinshu died on July 12, 2004, leaving behind his wife and two young children. His father was devastated and became ill when he heard the news. He passed away not long afterwards. -
The Persecution-Related Death of Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yang Xinglan from Hebei Province
2005-01-07Ms. Yang Xinglan was 42 years old, and lived in Hebei Province. She had an incurable tumour on the side of her face before practising Falun Dafa. In 1996, she was fortunate enough to start practising Falun Dafa. The tumour stopped growing and the pain ceased. In 2002, she was abducted and taken to a brainwashing centre. She was viciously beaten and eventually lost her eyesight in both eyes. She died on November 14, 2004 as a result of the persecution. -
73 Year Old Falun Gong Practitioner Ms Sui Ruolan from Dalian Died as a Result of Persecution
2005-01-0673 year old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sui Ruolan, lived in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She was arrested and taken to a detention centre in Dalian City in April 2003. Later, Sui Ruolan's health deteriorated and she became very weak. The doctor in the detention centre gave her a check-up and found that her blood pressure was elevated and her heart was extremely fragile She was extremely weak since her release and passed away on March 18, 2004 after a long period of suffering. -
Shanghai Promotes Police Who Capture Falun Dafa Practitioners
2005-01-06As people in the Community Office and the Association of Local Citizens in Baoshan (Shanghai) disclosed, "The 'higher authorities, in order to spur people to catch Falun Gong practitioners, declared that anyone can get a promotion to one salary-grade higher and get a reward of five thousand to twenty thousand yuan if he captures a Falun Gong practitioner. As far as we know, Shanghai police once offered a reward of only fifty thousand yuan for the capture of a serious killer." In a subdivision of Yangpu District, a large sign was even erected saying "let Falun Gong have no place to stand." -
Mr. Liu Wuqiang, Former Deputy Head of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region's Legal Office, Cruelly Harassed
2005-01-06Mr. Liu Wuqiang was Deputy Head of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region's Legal Office. After regaining his health by practising Falun Gong, Mr. Liu has been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999. The torture and hardship have taken a severe toll on his health, but Jiang Zemin's henchmen still continue to harass Mr. Liu. The police also had his pension and medical insurance cut off. Deprived of his income, medical insurance, Mr. Liu could not even afford a minimal existence. He had no choice but to go live with a relative in Shandong Province and to borrow money to pay for his medical and living expenses. -
11 Practitioners in Qiqihar City Prosecute the Organizations and Persons Responsible for Illegally Jailing Them
2005-01-06In the afternoon on December 9, 2003, police knocked on practitioners' homes intending to ransack the residences. After being refused entry, they called in fire engines and an anti-riot squad to break down the practitioners' doors with power equipment. They rushed in and illegally ransacked their homes. In two hours, they looted equipment including computers worth 22,000 yuan. Wang Xishun seized the chance to rob practitioners Niu Fengqin and Cheng Yulan of 1600 yuan. They even plundered ladles and a bag of rice. -
Retired School Teacher Ms. Wu Yuyun from Guangdong Province Persecuted to Death
2005-01-05Ms. Wu Yuyun, in her 60s, was a retired middle school teacher from Guangdong Province. In August 2003, she was arrested and sent to a brainwashing class held by the provincial government – for the third time - to force her to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. Her family members were not allowed to visit her. After being repeatedly arrested and subjected to brainwashing, Ms. Wu's health deteriorated and she passed away in September 2004. -
Professor Zhao Jindong from the English Department of Hengshui Normal College Faces Prison Term for E-Mailing Information about Falun Gong
2005-01-05Professor Mr. Zhao Jindong, who works at the English Department of Hengshui Normal College, Hebei Province, has been using email to let more people know the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution for quite some time. Recently, the police department in Hengshui City, using its Internet monitoring tools, found out about Mr. Zhao's activities and arrested him. Right now, Mr. Zhao is being held in the Hengshui City Detention Centre. -
Slave Labour for Falun Gong Practitioners at Baimiao Forced Labour Camp
2005-01-05Baimiao Forced Labour Camp took advantage of the laws that favour corrupt behaviour and allowed bad things to be done to good people. Between April and July 2004, Squad 3 processed and packed at least one hundred tons of fake pesticides and sold them. No one will ever know how many farmers were cheated. In order to produce the fake pesticides, the guards in Squad 3 forced the prisoners to work throughout the night. Everyday, we were assigned huge workloads and had to work over 18 hours. Beatings to force us to complete the work quickly took place daily. -
The Bar Association of Shanghai Violates the Law by Forbidding Lawyers to Defend Falun Gong Practitioners
2005-01-05Several years ago the Shanghai Bar Association gave oral notification to all of its lawyers, forbidding them from defending Falun Gong practitioners in court. The penalty for defending Falun Gong practitioners is an immediate cancellation of their lawyer's license. According to one lawyer he said, "No one, neither the lawyer's office nor a lawyer would dare to defend a Falun Gong practitioner, because lawyers have to earn money to support their families." -
Mr Meng Jixiang and His Son-in-Law Are Tortured to Death in Forced Labour Camps
2005-01-04Tianjin City Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Meng Jixiang (56 years old) and his son-in-law were tortured to death in Qingpowa and Banqiao Forced Labour Camps, respectively. In 2002, Mr Meng was abducted by police, merely because he practises Falun Dafa. His son in law went to find out his whereabouts, was seized and sent to a forced labour camp, where he was savagely beaten to death. Mr Meng was also tortured to death in early 2004. -
Mr. Song Tingfang, an Official from Inner Mongolia, Died in 2002 as a Result of Persecution
2005-01-04Mr. Song Tingfang, who used to work in a Livestock Department, Inner Mongolia, was sent to a forced labour camp by the local Political and Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office, and his own work unit because of his determination to practise Falun Gong. As a result of the persecution, he became very weak physically and eventually died in April of 2002. -
Lawsuit Against the Authorities of the Central Transportation Company of the Shengli Oil Field Management Bureau for Their Extended Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners
2005-01-04Since July 20, 1999, authorities of the Central Transportation Company, have abused their power and ignored the laws while conducting an extended persecution of practitioners. The perpetrators have used illegal methods such as detention, beatings, extortion, harassment, ransacking homes, withholding pay, dismissal from professional positions, limiting personal freedom, forced labour camp sentences, brainwashing, and force-feeding. Their crimes have seriously violated these citizens' basic human rights, restricted their personal freedom, taken away their property and money, and sorely injured them and their families.
