  • Radio Free Asia: Xiong Wei is Released and Returns to Germany

    Mrs Xiong Wei, who worked in the Beijing branch office of a German company after completing her study in Germany was arrested in January 2001 and imprisoned for two years because she distributed flyers about the Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong. The release was made possible by the joint efforts of German human right organisations, the German government and Falun Gong practitioners.
  • Germany: Introducing Falun Gong and Exposing the Persecution in Donauschingen

    Falun Gong practitioners from as far away as Brussels and Geneva gathered in downtown Hanselbrunnen to introduce Falun Gong and explain China’s ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. This was the first time that such activities were held in this area. We found almost all of the people here had never heard of Falun Gong. The passersby were all sympathetic about the suffering of practitioners in China.
  • UK Foreign Office Expresses Serious Concerns Over Human Rights Abuses Against Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    On the 15th of September 2004, it was stated in the House of Commons records that Mrs Anne Campbell MP asked Mr Bill Rammell, Foreign Office Minister, what assessment he had made of the persecution of Falun Gong in China and what action the UK government was taking to draw attention to this persecution. In his response, Mr Rammell said that the UK government had serious concerns regarding the human rights abuses against Falun Gong practitioners and had raised these concerns with the Chinese authorities.
  • Switzerland: Anti-Torture Exhibition in Basel Exposes the Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong in China

    To expose the Jiang regime’s crime of persecuting Dafa practitioners and to let more people know what's happening in China, Swiss practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in a square in the centre of the famous industrial city of Basel on September the 18th. They distributed leaflets and Video-CDs, and answered people’s questions.
  • Radio Free Asia: Irish Falun Gong Practitioners Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with Overseas Chinese

    “The moon looks brilliant and round in my hometown,” goes a Chinese poem. Though the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival was not celebrated as a holiday, overseas Chinese in all parts of Europe came up with various ideas and activities to celebrate their festival during the weekend around Mid-autumn. Last weekend, Irish Falun Gong practitioners took to the streets to introduce the traditional Chinese festival to locals. A reporter interviewed a practitioner coordinating the activities in Dublin.
  • Falun Dafa Practitioner Xiong Wei Successfully Rescued and Returned to Germany

    Xiong Wei, a Falun Gong practitioner who studied in Germany but has spent the last 2 year illegally imprisoned in a forced labour camp in China, was successfully rescued and arrived back in Germany. Xiong Wei and German Falun Gong practitioners thanked the German Government, human rights groups and the German public for their help and support.
  • Germany: Despite Bad Weather, Practitioners Introduce Falun Dafa and Expose the Persecution in Munich.

    On September 25th, despite the weather, Munich was filled with visitors to the Beer Festival. Falun Gong practitioners from Munich and neighbouring areas were also there. In front of the Frauenkirche, they set up an anti-torture exhibition, an information desk and had organised exercise demonstrations, singing, dancing and drumming.
  • Ireland: Introducing Falun Dafa and the Persecution to Chinese People on Mid-Autumn Day

    On the Saturday before Mid-Autumn day, we went to O’Connell Street in Dublin city centre. We made a banner suitable for the Mid-Autumn festival, which read, "Falun Gong Practitioners Wish Chinese people a Happy Mid-Autumn Day." After setting up the posters, practitioners began performing a traditional Chinese fan dance and demonstrating the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. The exercise demonstration music we used was a shorter version with English explanations, so that people could watch the whole five sets of exercises and learn their special features.
  • Germany: Introducing Falun Dafa and Exposing the Persecution Outside Cologne Cathedral

    In order to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China, German Falun Gong practitioners have carried out a peaceful appeal at Cologne Cathedral, a famous tourist site, for nearly three years. On each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, practitioners cooperate to ensure the appeal activities in front of the cathedral during the three days go smoothly, whatever the weather.
  • Germany: The Munich Beer Festival Attracts Tourists to an Anti-Torture Exhibition

    The 18th of September was the opening day of the 171st Munich Beer Festival, which lasts for sixteen days. Tourists from all over Germany and the world travelled to Munich to take part. Falun Gong practitioners held an information day and anti-torture exhibition to show people how Jiang Zemin uses his regime to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in China.

    "In Sweden and in more than 60 other countries there are many people from all walks of life practising Falun Gong and benefiting from it. Falun Gong has received many proclamations and awards because it benefits people’s health and improves their moral standards. I think that many Chinese Government officials also know very well what Falun Gong is and think this persecution is wrong."
  • Swedish Newspaper "Svenska Dagbladet": How Much Help will we Continue Providing to China to Maintain the Persecution?

    "At present there are 6,800,000 people being detained in forced labour camps in China, about half of them are Falun Gong practitioners. In those forced labour camps, the detained people are not only suffering from torture openly but also they are forced to produce products. These products are exported to western countries."
  • Holland: An Anti-Torture Exhibition is Held in Rotterdam

    On the afternoon of the 25th of September, Falun Gong practitioners from Belgium and Holland gathered together in Rotterdam, a city with the largest Chinese population in Holland. An anti-torture exhibition acted out by practitioners was held in Schouwburgplein city centre, not far from China Town.

    In connection with other information activities, a small group of practitioners from Berlin decided to organise a weekly information day in one of Berlin’s districts or suburbs. Many passerby showed great interest and most of all, they had a lot of time to spend with us. We were able to tell them about the persecution.
  • Breaking News - EFGIC: Chinese Woman Free Following International Rescue Campaign

    Xiong Wei, a 33year-old employee of a German company, returned to Germany today after 2 years of illegal detention in China. Ms Wei, a former student at Berlin Technical University, was arrested by the authorities in January 2002 whilst working in China for her German employers, simply because she practised Falun Gong.
