  • Practitioners from Jiamusi City Sent to Forced Labour Camps

    On the morning of July 30th, 2008, practitioners Ms. Wang Guizhen, Ms. Fan Shujuan and Ms. Sun Hongwei, were arrested by police from the Jiaxi Police Station because they had told many people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police also ransacked their homes. Later, their family members went to the police station and asked for the release of these practitioners. The police refused to release them and they used the excuse that the arrests were necessary for the "security of the Olympic Games."
  • Ms. Yuan Jieling and Ms. Liu Huirong from Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province Arrested

    On August 4th, 2008, Ms. Yuan Jieling and Ms. Liu Huirong, both from Gaozhou City in Guangdong Province, went to Xieji Town to explain the facts about Falun Gong, but were arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel, and then imprisoned at the Gaozhou Municipal Detention Centre. Ms. Liu's home was ransacked and her personal belongings were confiscated on the same day she was arrested.
  • Mr. Li Wenzhi Missing After Release From Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenzhi, 40, was sentenced to 18 months of forced labour in April 2008 and taken to the Yinmahe Labour Camp in Jiutai City. In late August, Mr. Li's parents received an unexpected phone call from the Dongguang Police Station. The elderly couple was puzzled when police asked them whether Mr. Li had returned home. He said that Mr. Li had been released on August 18th. Mr. Li' parents, brother, sister, and other relatives are seeking information about his possible whereabouts, as he remains missing. It is unknown why Mr. Li was released on August 18th or why the police who arrested him were called ten days later.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Tian Fang and Her Family of Six Have Been Persecuted Since 1999 and Separated for the Past Nine Years

    Ms. Tian Fang and her family of six from Tongliao City in Inner Mongolia have not been united in the past nine years due to the persecution of Falun Gong, which began in 1999. The six practitioners have accumulated a combined total of nearly 30 years of detention or prison time over the past nine years. The once wealthy family has experienced separation, the bankruptcy of their business, and becoming penniless under the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution. In September 2004, Tain Fang was sentenced to for four years in prison. The guards and prisoners subjected her to brutal torture that included making her stand naked in the wintertime, burning her face with cigarettes, electric shocks, brushing her face with a toilet brush, slapping her in the face, punching and kicking her, and putting her in heavy shackles. Sometimes the prison guards would make six or seven prisoners beat her.
  • Mr. Zhou Ning and Ms. Yue Lihua Sentenced in Jining City, Shandong Province; Zhou Ning Letter of Appeal

    On July 24th, 2008, Shizhong District Court judges in Jining City, Shandong Province, sentenced Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhou Ning and Ms. Yue Lihua without notifying their lawyers. Mr. Zhou was sentenced to five years in prison, and Ms. Yue to three. Prior to sentencing, Zhou Ning's lawyer called the judge several times to inquire about the progress in the case. But the court officials either didn't answer the phone or said the judge was out if they did.
  • The Persecution of a Young Woman Doctor

    Dr. Wang Yuchuan, is a surgeon in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. In 1998, she began practising Falun Gong and followed the standard of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. Dr. Wang went to Beijing to appeal for justice for the practice and told authorities, "Falun Gong is good. I wish the government would let us practise it." For uttering these words, she lost her personal freedom for three years and eight months. On August 7th, 2008, the day before the Beijing Olympic Games started, she was once again arrested and taken to a detention centre.
  • Ms. Wang Haiqing Arrested and Brutally Tortured Mentally and Physically

    Ms. Wang Haiqing, a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in May 2008. She was force-fed and tortured both physically and mentally for three months. She was in critical condition. Policeman Dong Linfang held Ms. Wang down and said, "I don't believe that I cannot handle you." Wang Haiqing's was seriously injured, and she lost control of her bowels and bladder. It was unbearably painful.
  • Ms. Li Fengzhen of Tangshan City, Hebei Province, Loses Her Memory As a Result of Persecution

    Ms. Li Fengzhen, a Falun Gong practitioner in her 50s, is from Hebei Province. She was arrested by officers from the Tanghai Public Security Bureau, on June 10th, 2008, and taken to Ankang Hospital in Tangshan City on June 25th. In just over 50 days, a formerly kind and healthy person was severely affected mentally. She became emaciated, was unable to stand or walk, and couldn't take care of herself. Ms. Li Fengzhen has now lost her memory. When she was detained in Tanghai County and Tangshan City, she was severely beaten, resulting in a serious brain damage. She was also injected with an unknown, nerve-damaging drug in Tangshan Ankang Hospital.
  • Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Officials in Baishan City Harass Falun Gong Practitioners in the Name of "Protecting the Olympic Games"

    Recently, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in Baishan City, Jilin Province persecuted many Falun Gong practitioners in the name of "protecting the Olympic Games." They harassed and arrested Falun Gong practitioners, claiming that it was "to protect the Olympic Games." They ransacked practitioners' homes, and even took away computers that practitioners' children used for studying. Some elderly people were also taken to the police stations and subjected to persecution.
  • My Nine Years of Persecution

    After July 20th, 1999, Jiang Zemin's, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime began to brutally persecute Falun Gong. They fabricated slanderous news and broadcast it on TV and radio in order to deceive people. Because I am very determined in my belief, I was arrested and detained many times. Police from the Gaozhou Domestic Security Division, 610 Office and local police station interrogated and severely beat me. They harassed me in my home and at my work unit. They used thug-like means to try to force me to give up Falun Gong.
  • Practitioners Ba Xinmin and Others Suffer Persecution in Nanyang City, Henan Province

    Mr. Ba Xinmin, 60 years old, was sentenced to two years in jail simply because he refused to renounce his beliefs. He suffered torture in Nanyang City Detention Centre. Every day he had to work for more than 10 hours, but was fed rubbish that even pigs and dogs would not eat. Two years later when he was released, his weight had dropped from 70 kg to about 45 kg due to malnutrition. On August 5th, 2008, police arrested Ba, his wife, their neighbour, and relatives who were visiting at the time. They hid Ba in a "hotel" and interrogated him in private. They brutally tortured Ba because they thought he coordinated Falun Gong activities in the area.
  • Hexing Brainwashing Centre in Deyang City, Sichuan Province Exposed

    The "Advocating Scientific Education School" in Deyang City, Sichuan Province is actually a deceptive name for a brainwashing centre established by the 610 Office in Deyang City, also known as the Hexing Brainwashing Centre . It is a three-story building, with wired, steel-netted windows, resembling a cage. The arrested practitioners are jailed in this building. In recent years, the Hexing Brainwashing Centre has been identified as a site for the detainment and persecution of large numbers of practitioners from Deyang City, Guanghan City, Shifang City, and other surrounding areas; some practitioners have been tortured to death in this prison.
  • Ms. Wang Yuhui and Mr. Li Zhihong Arrested in Changsha City During the Olympics

    On August 18th, 2008, six police officers broke into Ms. Wang Yuhui's house and arrested her. While ransacking her house, they confiscated her computer and some personal items. Why was this teacher arrested? The only reason for her arrest was that she is a Falun Gong practitioner. After she was arrested, without a hearing or trial, she was sent to the Legislative Educational Training Centre in the city. This centre was organized by the 610 Office for the sole purpose of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. More specifically, the centre is for brainwashing the practitioners into giving up their practice. In this brainwashing centre, she is kept in a room and watched 24 hours a day.
  • The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Delong

    After the persecution began, 48-year-old Zhang Delong was arrested numerous times. In 2004 he was sent to forced labour camps where he was forced to do slave labour. Mr. Zhang was forced to labour long hours every day packing toothpicks. He was required to pack 25 boxes each day, each box contained 10,000 toothpicks. Detainees were not allowed to sleep if they could not finish their assigned quota. The workplace was very dark, and they had to turn the light on even during the day. Mr. Zhang was exhausted and his vision was blurred. Most of the practitioners had to work until dawn and get up to continue working after just two hours of sleep
  • Over-70-Year-Old Practitioner Dies as a Result of Relentless Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuelan, in her 70s, was a retired doctor. On June 13th, 2001, the police arrested her in her house, took her money and possessions worth 20,000 yuan, and had her sentenced to three years of forced labour. On June 14th, 2001, they took her to Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. Ms. Zhang suffered three years of torture at the camp. On July 9th, 2008, several officers tried to arrest her at her home. Ms. Zhang had just broken her leg. Officers saw that her injury was very serious, so they had to leave her at home but assigned local police to watch her 24 hours per day. Her son and daughter-in-law were also home. They kept any other practitioners from visiting her. Ms. Zhang had no personal freedom at all and later on could not eat and became very thin. She died around August 15th, 2008, during the Olympics.
