  • Update on the Arrest of Five Falun Gong Practitioners from Mishan in Heilongjiang Province

    On June 2nd, 2008, two practitioners, Mr. Liu Jinglu and his wife Sun Yuxiang, from Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, drove to Zhuangxing Village, Taiping Township. They started distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling the farmers who worked there the facts about Falun Gong. Someone reported them to the local Taiping Police Station. On hearing the news, the police officers rushed to the site, but Liu Jinglu and his wife had driven away. Police intercepted the couple and were taken to the Taiping Police Station. They also arrested two other practitioners who were passing by Mr. Liu's house.
  • The Immoral Deeds Committed by the Police in Baqi Township, Shulan City, Jilin Province

    On June 15th, 2008, Baqi Township Police Station Chief Fu Wenzhong in Shulan City, Jilin Province, and three others barged into the residence of Mr. Jiang Yihong, a Falun Gong practitioner. They did not show him any identification, and during their search they did not find any Falun Gong materials. They did not give any reason for breaking into his home, and then they took him away. Because of the intervention of Jiang's family members, Jiang managed to escape. However, his mother, Tan Yuling, a 68-year old practitioner, was forcefully taken away.
  • Mr. Zhang Minghui Beaten and Tortured in Mudanjiang Forced Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Minghui was again arrested on January 26th, 2008, and now faces a pending sentence. Mr. Zhang was tortured in Mudanjiang Forced Labour Camp beginning in September 2002. He endured a living hell for 15 months in the labour camp, until his release in December 2003. In order to escape persecution by the police, Mr. Zhang's wife had to become homeless, taking with her their infant child.
  • The Persecution of Mr. Yang Jinhan in the Zhengzhou City Baimiao Forced Labour Camp

    Mr. Yang Jinhan, 34 years old, tore down a display board that slandered Falun Gong in May 2007. He was locked up in detention and then sent to a labour camp. Mr. Yang protested the sentence. He refused to wear a prisoner's uniform or follow the rules of brigade No. 3 of Baimiao Forced Labour Camp. He was handcuffed behind his back and tortured with three electric batons. Yang Jinhan was detained in brigade No. 3 and forced to perform slave labour for an average of over 14 hours each day.
  • Tianhe District Court in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province Sentences Mr. Feng Zhigang to Four Years

    On September 23rd, 2007, Mr. Feng was arrested by police officers from Guangzhou City. While being held in solitary confinement in the Tianhe Detention Centre, Mr. Feng's body became weak and bloated. On numerous occasions, his family traveled long distances to visit him, but each time they arrived, the guards would not allow them to see Mr. Feng. On May 30th, 2008, the Tianhe District Court in Guangzhou City sentenced Mr. Feng to four years in a forced labour camp - despite the fact that Mr. Feng entered a not-guilty plea and local practitioners explained the facts about Falun Gong to the court. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) administrators read aloud the verdict, Mr. Feng felt nauseated and vomited. Mr. Feng is currently detained at the Tianhe Detention Centre.
  • Requesting Urgent Help for a Teacher in Ningxia Autonomous Region

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. He Xianglong, 46, is a teacher in Longde County, Guyuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region. He is highly respected and even received an "Excellent Teacher" award in 2007. On the evening of June 17th, 2008, when he was helping with the evening study group in Shatang Town Middle School, police from the Domestic Security Division and the Shatang Town Police Station came to the school and arrested him without showing any legal documents. Mr. He Xianglong is currently detained in the Longde Detention Centre.
  • Ms. Wang Shuxia Tortured to Death While in Custody in Liaoning Province

    Ms. Wang Shuxia, 45, played a video exposing the persecution of Falun Gong at a booth she was operating. Police arrested her, ransacked her home, and took away her TV set, DVD player, and Falun Gong books. On January 15th, 2008, the Diaobingshan City Court held a secret trial, and sentenced her to three years in prison. On May 3rd, 2008, they took her to the Shenyang City Prison. On May 5th, 2008, the prison guard called her family and said she had died from a stroke. When her family went to see her body, they saw all the injuries. Ms. Wang's family was very sad because she was tortured to death in less than 48 hours!
  • In Memory of Ms. Gao Rongrong, Who Died Three Years Ago

    On June 16th, 2005, Ms. Gao Rongrong was killed while in detention as a direct result of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) policy of "eradicating the practice of Falun Gong." Three years have passed, and the injustice has not been exonerated. Through reading the Clearharmony website, people can see that the CCP is still intensely persecuting practitioners, and continuing to mislead people around the world.
  • Student from Qianguo County No. 5 High School Arrested While Using the Internet and Expelled from School

    On May 10th, 2008, Yin Fuan, a student at Qianguo County No. 5 High School in Songyuan City, Jilin Province was arrested. When this 19-year-old boy was using the Internet to form a blog, police from Beijing monitored and discovered his belief in Falun Gong. As a result, the officers from the Songyuan National Security Team arrested him. Yin Fuchun was expelled from school. Yin Fuchun has been held at the Qianguo County Detention Centre for over 30 days.
  • Officers from Guangming Police Station in Shunyi, Beijing, Arrested My Mother

    June 3rd was my mother's 37th birthday. However, my mum was absent, leaving me to spend her birthday without her. Because she believes in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance," she was arrested by the Communist Party police. On the morning of April 18th, 2008, my classmates and I went to one of their homes. I wanted to call my mum to tell her where I was, but I could not locate her. Her mobile phone was not working, and no one picked up the home phone. I kept trying to locate her until 5 p.m. I was very worried and asked my relatives to help. At 7 p.m. I went home and found it a mess. Cigarette butts were everywhere, and the computers and printers were gone. Later I heard that my mother had been arrested while she was at work. I was very scared.
  • Ms. Li Guilian, Age 70, Arrested by Daqing Police

    On June 2nd, 2008, when 70-year-old Ms. Li Guilian sat down to rest near the Honggang Courthouse, four male police officers and one female police officer from the Honggang Police Sub-bureau surrounded and frisked her. They took four Falun Gong badges from her and then arrested her. In the Honggang Police Sub-bureau, Ms. Li was interrogated and told to confess who sold her the Falun Gong badges, what she was doing there, and if she had any Falun Gong materials in her home. At 7:00 p.m., Ms. Li Guilian's daughter went to the Honggang Police Sub-bureau to ask for her mother's release. She was intimidated into signing some papers by the policeman in charge.
  • Seventeen-Year-Old Boy Traumatised by Police Harassment and Becomes Severely Ill

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Deng Linfeng was arrested with her son by officers from the Jiamusi Railroad Police Department on February 26th, 2008. Her son was threatened by the police many times, and they even occupied his home. After these traumatic incidents, the boy developed a severe illness. On June 18th, the Jiamusi City Railroad Court tried Ms. Deng.
  • Mr. Xu Changqing Dies as Result of Persecution in Inner Mongolia

    In 2000, practitioners in Dayangshu Town distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong using their very limited incomes. Li Shuliang ordered officers to arrest Mr. Xu Changqing, and cruelly tortured him, and detained him for 18 months. In February 2002, Mr. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison, with a three year probation period. Mr. Xu was forced to live out of town to avoid being arrested due to his beliefs. He had been living in poverty and was homeless, leaving him in poor health. He developed cirrhosis of the liver and died on June 14th, 2008.
  • Remembering Mr. Yu Zhou and His Wife, Ms. Xu Na

    I first met Mr. Yu Zhou and his wife, Ms. Xu Na, on a mild winter afternoon. Ms. Xu had just been released from Beijing Women's Prison. She was thin, but her eyes were bright. I knew some of the suffering she had gone through during her five years in prison. Yu Zhou was tortured to death by the Communist regime on the eve of the Chinese New Year.
  • Twenty-One-Year-Old Ms. Wang Pinrui from Nongan County, Jilin Province Brutally Beaten at Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Wang Pinrui, 21, is a Falun Gong practitioner living in Nongan County, Jilin Province. Because of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, she was forced to leave school six months before the college entrance examinations. In order to elude the most recent round of persecution, Ms. Wang and her mother (who does not practise Falun Gong) left their home and travelled to Baicheng City, Jilin Province. But even there, the local police found her, verbally abused her, and her mother was slapped around while being accused of leading a Falun Gong group. Ms. Wang Pinrui is still detained in the Fifth Division of the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp. She is often brutally beaten and has sustained many injuries to her face.
