  • Sweden: The Swedish Parliament Holds a Seminar on China’s Human Rights

    The Swedish Parliament held a seminar on China’s human rights in Stockholm. According to participants, the purpose of the seminar was to raise awareness about the Chinese Communist Party's human rights abuses and to immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and human rights activities in the run-up to the Olympics.
  • Switzerland: Former Detainee at Wanjia Labour Camp Lu Shiping Tells Her Story at the UN in Geneva

    The Chinese communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has long been a grave concern of the UN. Ms. Lu Shiping, a Falun Gong practitioner, who endured cruel torture at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, was invited to testify at the session about the persecution of Falun Gong at the 8th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
  • Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners in Munich Condemn the CCP for Provoking Violence in Flushing, New York

    On June 15th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners held an activity at the Chinese Consulate in Munich Germany, both supporting 38 million withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organisations and at the same time condemning the CCP provocation of a disturbance in Flushing, New York.
  • Netherlands: Quitting the Chinese Communist Party Activities in Amsterdam

    On Saturday, June 7th, a "Quitting the Communist Party" activity was held at the Nieuwemarkt, next to Chinatown. Information about quitting the party and the persecution of Falun Gong in China were handed out to the people. Both Chinese and non-Chinese where happy to receive the information. Chinese people were also provided with the opportunity to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party on the spot.
  • Frettabladid (Icelandic Newspaper): What says The Olympic Charter?

    Loud criticism towards the conduct of the hosts of Olympics 2008 on human rights issues has not been created in a void but is an understandable reaction to unacceptable misuse of power. Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir (the Minister of Education and Sports in Iceland) has the authority to show our symbolic disapproval/denunciation in action by shunning the opening and closing ceramonies at the Olympic Games in Peking in August. For such a decision are valid reasons according to well argumented claims from large number of human rights organisations.
  • Finland: Finnish Christians Encourage Falun Gong Practitioners to Continue Working Hard against the Persecution

    On June 14th, 2008, during Finland’s summer touring season, Falun Gong practitioners returned to Helsinki railway station to raise awareness about Falun Gong and the persecution of practitioners in China. The Chinese Communist Party has been persecuting mainland China’s Falun Gong practitioners for nine years. Practitioners erected display boards depicting the story of Falun Gong, demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises, distributed leaflets and collected signatures.
  • Sweden: The Swedish People Give Support to an Assembly for Quitting the CCP Campaign

    On June 14th, at the Swedish 'Quit the CCP Centre' in Stockholm, Falun Gong practitioners held an assembly to support the 36, 800 000 Chinese people who have quit the CCP and its affiliated organisations. They also raised awareness about how the CCP has tried to divert attention from the fact that it ignored predictions of the Sichuan earthquake. Chinese political secretary Zhou Yongkang personally deployed overseas CCP consulates and Communist Party supporters in America, inciting Chinese people who did not know the truth to hurl abuse, assault and beat up volunteer workers at the Flushing 'Quit the CCP Centre' in New York.
  • Polish MEP Decries Violence against Falun Gong Practitioner in Letter to Chinese Ambassador

    On June 7th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Qian was delivering Epoch Times newspapers in Poland when she was physically and verbally assaulted by a woman who, locals say, has ties to the Chinese Embassy in Warsaw. In response to the CCP's continuing pattern of exporting the persecution of Falun Gong all over the world, Polish Member of European Parliament Hanna Foltyn - Kubicka sent the following letter to the Chinese Ambassador.
  • Sweden: Falun Gong Practitioners Raise Awareness about the Persecution of the Practice in China

    On June 14th, 2008, volunteers from the Swedish Quitting the CCP Service Centre went to Karlstad city central square to raise awareness about the evil crimes of the CCP and to support a 'quitting the CCP' activity there. The organiser of the activity told the people on site of the evil crimes CCP committed on the Chinese people and the current huge torrent of quitting the CCP. The singer, who was also the guitar player of the Yellow Express band expressed, “using the beautiful singing and the expression of the words helps the people who have been persecuted by the evil CCP in China”.
  • Finland: Practitioners Hold Activities in Helsinki

    On Saturday, on June 7th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners in Helsinki held activities at Mannerheiminti Avenue in the city centre to promote Falun Gong and call upon people to help stop the Chinese Communist Party's nine years of brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners displayed banners reading 'Falun Dafa is Good', 'Immediately Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong', etc. along side exhibitions to introduce Falun Gong. They also prepared petitions forms to call upon a stop to the persecution as well as Falun Gong leaflets in various languages.
  • Poland: MP Holds a Press Conference to Highlight Harrasment of a Falun Gong Practitioner

    On June 12th, 2008, Mr. Andrzej Czuma, a senior member of the Polish parliament held a press conference in his congressional office about an attack on a Falun Gong practitioner by a Communist Party supporter. Ms. Zhang Xi, the Falun Gong practitioner who was attacked, was specially invited to talk about her personal experience of being harassed and threatened.
  • United Kingdom: Scottish Practitioners Raise Awareness about Falun Gong in Edinburgh

    At the weekend of June 7th, 2008, Scottish practitioners raised awareness about Falun Gong and the persecution in the city centre of Edinburgh. The activity consisted of a demonstration of the Falun Gong exercises and a signature collection calling for an end to the persecution of the CCP. Additionally, practitioners displayed a banner representing the 'Quit the CCP Service Centre'.
  • France: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to a Perform at a "Night Of China" Show in Paris

    On June 7th, 2008, the Beauchamp district of Greater Paris held its annual dancing and entertainment evening for its sports persons in the city’s sport club. The main theme was “A Night of China”. They invited Falun Gong practitioners from Paris to participate. Guests enjoyed the traditional dances performed by Falun Gong practitioners as well as several other performances.
  • Italy: Court Rules that Chinese Newspaper Libels Falun Gong

    On June 3rd, 2008, Judge Dr. Iannolo of the Rome Criminal Court stated that the Chinese newspaper China Times libeled Falun Gong and that all defendants, including the China Times' director, sponsor and author of the article, committed crimes. Rome Criminal Court ruled that China Times slandered Falun Gong severely through media and committed the crime multiple times. The verdict will be read within sixty days. The Italian Falun Dafa Association and Mr. Alfredo Fava, Director of the Association, won the case. It was the second case won in initial trial of similar cases for the Italian Falun Dafa Association.
  • Ukraine Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference

    From June 6th to the 8th, a Falun Gong experience sharing conference was held in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Practitioners travelled from countries including Russia, Belarus and Latvia to take part in the conference and several shared their experiences of practising Falun Dafa and understandings gained through studying the principles of the practice.
